Yeah man, most definitely. Thanks for choosing U-Stride. Although the point was to get you riding, the goal was to get you grounded in the basics of riding the wheel properly with lessons that will guide throughout your EUC experience. So glad for you man. Happy riding 😎💪🏿
I love the EUC life. You have two people from different walks of life, merging for one goal. I have been moved by this tutorial. Thank you for being the best U, and creating a better world.
Awesome teaching, congratulations. I taught three guys to ride, and I must say is a magic experience, like teaching a kid to walk. My approach is a bit different, having no support from scratch (wall or railing), step 1) one leg on the wheel other on ground make little steps... 5 mins... 2) same.. bit longer step s 5 mins.. and 3) keep with same until you feel in a unforced, relaxed and natural way, you can mount the other leg too. It worked perfectly with the three guys. Kind of magical feeling, because they expected a much harder training.
Thank you for posting this video and your 12-step video. I’m 55 and I had never ridden an EUC before picking up a new 16X last week. I took my computer in the garage and followed your videos using the garage wall. After about an hour I was off and running around the neighborhood. All the extra reps really paid off and I’ve been having a blast on it. Thanks again for the videos!!
Just literally got my first EUC there now and it's charging. Kinda nervous but excited. If only I had an experienced rider like you to coach me like this lol. Can't wait though!!
Wow . He learned fast. I tried for first time today on grass, a little too bumpy , in a hot blazing sun . My shin couldn't stand the pain , my angles on my wheel weren't calibrated right so it cut out when leaned making me restart and I almost died from the exertion and heat combined . It is important to stay out of the heat while doing this . The stress and body exertion is enough to make you sweat . I'm 68 which isn't going to make it any easier .
Wheel em in, teach em bout tha wheel wonders of the world, then let em wheel themselves out........ wheel wicked work spreading the wheel knowledge .........nice one Ustride 😇
I can hold a pizza box and eat a pizza, while riding my Inmotion V5f. But I still cannot ride backwards with a wall or railing. Yet this guy is already doing it.
Nice training session. I learned just from watching. If I lived in N.E. I would certainly meet up with you. Ottawa Canada is not that far but we have to wait for this pesky COVID thing to end so the border can open. Keep up the great videos. Safe Cruising! Craig
When I first trained on my new EUC I ended up on my back, where as I looked up at the sky I was very grateful I wore a helmet and skid gloves, which combined with protective pads is a must for EUC riding especially for beginners like myself. Stay safe 🙏🏼
@@UStride Understood...could I ask a few questions? What wheels are you training these lucky folks on? Are there other training sources in the New England area you would recommend? thx much
You might want to explain that tilting (inner foot down, outer foot up) an electric unicycle causes it to turn (due to camber effect), independent of weight or body lean. For slow speed tight turns, a rider barely leans, but tilts an EUC a lot, and for EUCs with wider tires (like 3 inches wide), at higher speed, a rider leans more than the EUC is tilted. Twisting an EUC also works, but is mostly used for slow speed. At the tennis court, it looked like it would have been better to go across the end of the tennis courts, since there were no benches in the way. From what I see in the video, the riders were riding fast enough for the EUC to become stable and essentially self-balancing. I started off at unnecessarily slow speed, 3 mph or so, using arm flailing and twisting, doing laps around a tennis court, but switched to a long straight where I found my V8F became stable at around 6 to 8 mph and I no longer had to make balance corrections. I then learned to tilt steer. I ride a motorcycle, and my experience is looking doesn't turn, only control movements. For example, I look to the side and back before changing lanes. One of my goals when learning to ride an EUC was to be able to move my arms and look around without upsetting balance or changing direction, which took a few weeks (about 30 minutes a day, 3 or 4 days a week).
Hello, I'm still learning I think I can do better as long as it doesn't tilt back all the time on me because I have to jump off.and my right leg hurt feels like I damage it.i have to take aleave,a leave, pain
Man wish I found this a few weeks ago. I did trash my new wheel learning. I can ride up and down the street now but the wheel looks beat up and very used at two weeks old lol.
Great instruction. I sure wish I had someone to teach me instead of teaching myself via TH-cam. I have been riding now for 14+ months and currently on a KS-18XL (my 3rd wheel). Still not comfortable mounting and getting my foot position correct without holding onto something. I guess just more practice.
I'm old(40ish) and somewhat overweight and out of shape but I want to get one of those so bad. I have to pick between the safe bet of the E scooter or the chad move of getting a EUC. I can't afford both right now.
@@UStride took me about 30 min to get the hang of it. Just rode about 15 miles on it. Got any tips for speed wobbles? I seem to get them after de-accelerating from a higher speed.
Yo U-Stride! Thanks for this helpful video man, this still helps even 3 years after you posted it! I love your enthusiasm and encouragement, thanks for the great content
Just out of curiosity, how long was the series of lessons? I can see from the clothing changes that this was several different days. How many times did you two meet up and how long was each day's lesson?
This was over 4 days total for him to learn but part of it was due to him renting the wheel and learning some things on his own at his own home, then coming back to complete the lesson. This is the part where you saw the change in clothing. That was his final day
Do you do sessions in nyc, u-stride? Or maybe you can make a video about this. I learned how to ride seated but the problem is, I just can't sit down properly on the seat while riding. I can take off without assistance to ride seated, I can even stand while riding seated but I just can't seem to sit down while riding. My butt always sticks away from the seat instead of sitting on it whenever I try to sit down on the seat. I guess I'm just scared of accidentally accelerating on the wheel while doing that but do you have any tips on how to do this without getting myself hurt?
Thanks again UStride for teaching me. It’s only been a few weeks, but I ride daily on my Tesla and the comfort level gets better each time. So fun!

Great job and welcome to the Wheel Life!
Man, seams like you are a natural talent! Great!
Thanks Bill for sharing your EUC learning experiences! Thanks U-Stride for this interesting look at your training methods!
So how long did it take you from starting in the court to the cycle path without assistance
you and mike from 'isthereanyfood" are the best 2 EUC teachers out there, your student did amazing.
I agree James, their videos both taught me how to ride. And that student picked it up quick.
Oh man I love teaching people how to ride. So great to see it click.

My Brother, it’s beautiful what you are doing with this training program
Yes sir, thanks a ton for that. I wholly enjoy this
I like the way you explain everything and break down the learning process. I wish you were there when I was teaching myself.
Thanks man

I hear you man. It feels amazing.
You guys are so nice..
My method is to duct tape their legs to the wheel. Then dumping them in middle of empty parking lot.

Omgoodness I'm loving this our EUC community is getting larger by the month. I'm seeing more and more EUC videos then I did 2 yrs ago
It was thanks to U-Strides 12 step video, that I am doing so well. Commuting back and forth to work this week. Love my 14s..
I love your enthusiasm here. It would make the learner much more enthusiastic.
That’s why I enjoy this channel so much!
Thanks man
Great teacher, fast learner. 👍😊
I'm now learning to snowboard. I can relate to what the learner said in similarities of EUCs to snowboarding.
Professional, adaptable to skill level... This is a legit lesson.
yayyyy man he did it. Glad you trained a new euc rider! U-STRIDE for the win!

I am just learning myself with my V11. I am the opposite of you, I can mount easily, but I can't stay on after a few meters.
So following your tutorials, it took it 13 hours to ride unassisted, it still does not feel natural but with riding this will change.

Well the video is shortened

It's like skiing/snowboarding.

sitting to standing and vice versa while riding is hard
