    Do people live in Antarctica? Is it part of any country? What makes it so d*mn special? How do you get to the South Pole? What's McMurdo? What's an icefish? Why would you want to give birth there?
    Antarctica is the newest, most unknown, and most inhospitable continent on Earth. We've only been exploring for about 200 years, and there's lots more to learn.
    This vid provides a quick rundown about Antarctica, who lives there, what goes on, and how we got there.
    Thanks for exploring with me! -Map Nerd

    The skull of the Chilean woman discovered on Yamana Beach is quite interesting. I wonder if one day we might find remains of Yaghan, Kawésqar, and Selk'nam people there, carried away by storms, or even archaeological findings like debris and flotsam etc. Guess the currents don't exactly line up the way the Kurushio conveyed Japanese artifacts over to the PNW pre-contact.

      woh - i need a minute to process all that. but im into it! thank you for the insight. (I had a longer bit about the Yamana skull where I called it a "cool mystery" (get it? ;) but cut for time.

      @@MapNerdYT Yeah, I was just thinking out loud haha. And if you're curious about what I was referring to... There's now historical records and findings that show that iron things and shipwrecked items from Japan made it to Haida Gwaii and the rest of the Pacific Northwest before European exploration of the area, simply with the way the current moved things eastwards. Even today, camping on Vancouver Island you find Russian, Chinese, and Japanese plastics.

    Colonization is what brought civilization to the world. "Indigenous" people were almost always living barbaric lives in the stone age when European explorers discovered them.

    • @0Clewi0
      @0Clewi0 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why would it ever burst, it's mostly about the risk of removing it beforehand and the risk of it happening while there's low access to equipment.

      @@Rickshaw_Bohammer Flat earthers should save up money and navigate a boat along the shore of Antarctica . The shape of Antarctica is the major difference presented by the flat earth map. This would take about 10 years to raise the money. That's not long considering that the Flat Earth Society has existed for over 60 years. Get it done. Get it digitally recorded. No more excuses.

    My opinion, I don’t find any sense living in Antarctica, at least let that place be untouched by humans. We’re done messing up with majority of the planet already
