- After Dalvin Cook and Cam Akers, Florida State brought in another five star running back by the name of Khalan Laborn but instead of becoming a superstar, he became a bust, what went wrong?

@@floundrpoundr James Wilder was a monster who made the league. His only problem was having Free there and Los coming into his own after switching positions. He was a power back used like a power back
@@chozengaming8547 he had one decent season in college. Most of it came at the goal line. he was super hyped and highly rated going into college. Has only had a small CFL career. Just wanting a video... I know you're an FSU fan and all.

I met him twice ... He wasn't a bust they mysteriously never played him after he got injured ... I thought he was better than Akers , everytime he played he looked special
I mean he’s 2nd in the nation for rushing years at marshal. Played against dude in high and he was the real deal. Still pulling for him
I was always excited for Laborn. He had his moments where he flashed how good he could be, was really hoping for him to break out at FSU when Cam left. Hope he stays focused and succeeds at Marshall
I met him as a player for Marshall. Always very respectful. Very talented athlete and one of the best in the Sun Belt Conference. He went on to be drafted in the NFL. Quite a success story actually.

A bust is crazy dude just couldn’t stay out of trouble the talent was never a issue. He jus rand for 120+ yards last week and 2 tds. I think he just chose the wrong school when he chose FSU, when the number 1 rb in the class of 2027 cam akers was goin there as well.

FSU culture went bad - real bad - during the last days of Fisher. Taggert could/did not fix it. It think Laborn got caught up in that. He needed to move to a different school where the culture was good and where he'd make new friends who might not lead him down the wrong path. Norvell seems to have fixed the culture, but you can't go home again.
Taggart couldn’t fix it all. He’s too busy listening to music at practice then actually push those kids

@@survivingwatson7430 Come on bruh, be realistic. The team he was handed was coming off a 7-6 season and the only reason they went 7-6 is because of what? We had to pay and beg ULM to play a make up game in order to become bowl eligible. You know the same team of 4 and 5 stars that Jimbo had to make sign statements to play harder after BC trashed us 35-3. Yep we really were in a position to play for a 'ship, GTFOH!
This video might have been made a little too soon, because hes going crazy and shining nationally at Marshall this year.
I loved this guys and really wish he could’ve got his mind right while in Tallahassee,but I believe he’ll get it together in Marshall and I believe in him..
LAMBO was such a cool kid, for the longest time I didn’t even know he played football tho saw him out a lot and my boy was lit 😂wish him the best at Marshall
I was excited about him. He looked good in a few plays against VT in our opener and then got hurt and we never saw much of him again after that.
49ers picked him up. Tough squad to make though with CMC, Elijah Mitchell, Jordan Mason, and TDP all ahead of him for now. Injury does not make one a bust. Frank Gore had a similar story. Be careful. College bust perhaps. He's still got a chance but will definitely have to really want it moving forward. Best to him.
Lambo is going to ball out for Marshall. Young man just had a string of bad luck more than anything.

What went wrong for Khalan Laborn?
Without the injury, I think he was good enough to takeover as FSU #1 RB, yes even as a RS Freshman. He came in a better pure RB than Ackers. Now whether or not he would have ruined that with off field issues would be still possible but ultimately I would say it was the unfortunate injury that derailed him most. The injury likely gave him idle time and an idle mind which possibly lead to bad habits and activities he couldn’t break from.

Im a true FSU fan , Live in tally all my life and have gone through the good and the bad . I remember started watching at the beginning of the 12' season and remember that 13' season where we won . Every since then we have had a few good seasons but after Jimbo Fisher left , we have been going down and down and it's mainly visible in the play on the field like dumb mistakes and having to hear my parents yell at the TV assuming it will help the players but as for Dalvin cook , he is literally one of the best RBs we've ever had 🙏

People say anything for clout. Those kids put trust in a program to help them mature and grow. Which never happens at FSU. When you round the right people you want have time to do off field things. Jimbo was still there all those kids would of lived to they potiental. It's not them it's the school. Getting new coaches who pick favoritism for talent to save there job instead of just coaching. J. Black was at his greatest as a freshman at 120 lbs and those kids played there heart out for him when he v left. His wholeb recruiting class took the hit. They all had to go to the portal to save there career. Every player that stayed was frowned up fck the players not living up to the hype. Them coaches doesn't live up to the hype. U call the rb loaded day didn't use Z. White as a rb that's coaches fault he went to SC and made them regret it. J. Patrick(5 star) never was drafted he went minor league route. Rasul never lived up to hype. To sum it up all those kids a have success stories if they wasn't tossed from coach to coach coach. All cause Fsu want to be stubborn and not listen to Jimbo Fisher for these chump ahh coaches. It's FSU fault all those kids finding success At other schools

There's not enough on him yet to make a video. He's had small flashes but hasn't ever been the guy yet, that's all he'd be able to say so far. After this season I'm sure it's possible.

It's a sad story. He had problems with every HC we brought in and the knee injury sapped his cut speed and athleticism
What happened to Jacques Patrick? I always liked him as well. FSU OL was real bad Cam’s JR year. Made him look average.
I remember when we got him i was excited but players have to remember stay cool hidden dont show to much do it on the field your character is what gets up paid at the next level.

Playing and starting up in the CFL. Had a breakout season with Toronto Argonauts a couple of years ago and last season he rushed for over 700 yards in a 14 game season with no training camp or preseason/Coronavirus for Edmonton Elk and this season he is also the starting running back for the Edmonton Elk
@@rodneyp4491 ummmm pretty sure almost every athlete at every level of every sport had no or limited training in their athletic craft due to the covid BS. That is not a useful excuse. He was very highly rated and a 5 star recruit. Wanted an in depth video explaining exactly the things that hindered his career and yes, by definition ended up being a bust for what he was rated.
@@floundrpoundr Fact does not care about whatever the he'll it is you are using word salad to explain. 2021 CFL season had no training camp and no preseason games and the season was shortened to 14 games and only one running back in the CFL rushed for over 1,000 yards, William Stanback. Wilder Jr. rushed for over 700 yards, which was either 2nd or 3rd in the Canadian Football League. As a college player, I have no clue if he is considered a bust. I was simply giving you information on where he is playing as a professional. Was he highly rated coming out of high school? Was he a bust in college? If so, I certainly respect him for not giving up on himself by putting in work to become a solid running back as a professional in the Canadian Football League.

FSU had a bad run in VA for a while. Between Laborn, Taylor, and Sweat they got the #1 guy out of VA for 3 straight years but none of them lived up to the hype in college.

Yup. If Cam Akers had stayed committed to Bama he would’ve been a superstar like Najee. Florida St. had no line and Akers still played pretty well which speaks to how goof he rlly was.
