I'm in the same boat, was at a stop sign and went to drive off, huge noice coming off the underside of the vehicle, stopped it quickly and found a leak in the transfer case. Drained off the oil (replaced with 75/90) and it wasn't too bad but found some silver speckles My transfer case has almost the exact same amount of play. Did you ever resolve this
