I’m married for over 20 years to a Filipina, who has a very very large family and not once has anyone in the family ever asked us for money. What’s funny is her father when he was alive often asked us if we needed anything.
i am also filipina married to an american and my family never once asked for money or help from us.
Same, same.
Theyve never asked and I became a good provider because after 4 years of perfect family I decided build a large house and they all werk here doing a great job
Same same here.
Not everyone's family ask. Some foreigner are just thier opinion judging it without knowing the family itself first.
I too am married to a Filipina for over 20 years and her extended family is more than happy to ask us for $$ help more so in the past than presently They know we don’t have a ton to spare. I’d have to say it’s been different families within the extended family. Not just 1 set of cousins etc…..
I’m from Ottawa, Ontario, I’m happy for you, we have green bin here for COMPOST, why don’t you do it too for your garden, I do it for our backyard garden coz my husband love planting vegetables. Keep it up. I’m from the Philippines, born in Barbaza, Antique.
Yeah with all the scrap food from the beaver he could make some really good compost for the garden
Totally agree! I'll be moving to the Philippines in a year but I have composted here in Long Island New York most of my life.
It makes great fertilizer for the garden, it's free and does not add to municipal waste!
Can really tell how happy Cat was of having her parents over❤
Bro is finally completed with the whole family. Happy for you Brother
That was really nice of you!. I hope they enjoyed their stay. And yes you are Lucky to have Cathy
Prioritize being polite respectful, and confidents to her parents
That’s nice you invited Kat’s family to spend time with them. Hi 👋🏻 Lara happy to come with your grandma….🥰🥰🥰
Is anyone else wondering how best to meet a beautiful, simple, kind, and true woman like Kat?
Lucky beaver man has found a great woman and daughter, has an instant beautiful family, and they are building a good life together. 😊
he is 6 foot 4 with bright blues eyes and charismatic....that prolly helped alot
@@friendryanI remember he made all those vids. with his previous gf, and then suddenly they split up.
Then he just traveled a lot it seemed and suddenly she turned up as some roommate/live-in maid.
Good with a woman who don't need the spotlight herself, I figure it makes life easier together.
Like and no Skipping long adds 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂Simple Life with Happy Simple Family 🎉🎉🎉 make your Stressed go Away 😮😅😅😅😅
Yes while others are judging her so bad .
Gotta name that dog "chewy".... looks like a minature Chewbacca! Lol
I was thinking it looked a bit like a baby ewok!😄
We need to bring back the days where fathers forced men to marry their daughters before living with them. Asking " what's your intentions ". Guys.. you can Argue all you want, but Right is Right
Those are baby boomers now.
That's how I ended up married to my US military husband when I was 18 and just dating him. I was instructed by my oldest sister to stop seeing him, he ended marrying me. Kat had a baby out of wedlock and was being kicked out by her parents, so she ended up pursuing Michael and she succeeded. She didn't introduce Michael to her parents until she is financially secured with Michael. No Filipino parents will allow virgin Filipina daughters to shack up with any man. My family was furious, and I ended up being spanked and instructed to stop seeing an American who was 19 at that time. He married me, brought me to the US, I attended and graduated from 3 universities with 3 degrees and have been a Registered Nurse for over 38 years. My family wanted the best for me, didn't want me to end up pregnant and left behind in the Philippines by a foreigner. About to retire in the Philippines and enjoying the rest of my life with financial stability and do not have to depend on any man.
@@suslazGood for you. That being said, you do not have the right then picking up Kath as your subject of insults! With your age you should be kind to your fellows!! Mapang alipusta ka sa kapwa! Your education doesn't mean anything more so you don't age well but rather made you cruel towards people you thought inferior and lesser than you! If indeed you are a Filipino you should know what that means!
@@suslaz....ahh a woman that thinks just because she has money she doesn't have to depend on any men.😢 When your car breaks down..look for a female mechanic. When you need a bag of cement unloaded from your car, the car that drove on the road that men built call your female friend. When you wake up at night startled by a loud sound in the house..call the police and insist they send a female cop. Men have made life so comfortable for women, that they actually think they don't need us.
I married my 18 year old filipina wife (21 myself) before moving in. And asked permission to her parents first, spend a ton of bonding with her siblings too. This was 10 years ago now though. Its nice, but if other people dont do it thats fine.
Very nice of you to invite the parents for a short stay. I would bet it was a little overwhelming for them. Perhaps they might be asking for something now as that seems to be very common in the Philippines. I would bet Kat is helping them already. Also kind of surprised that Kat is sticking up for the new dog so soon by you just calling him lazy.... Instead she calls others lazy. I think I know who she's talking about and that is definitely not true by a long shot. It took her a while but she's starting to get more comfortable. Hopefully she stays humble and sweet.....
Use dielectric grease in the plugs
You are a good man. Family is tough sometimes but you have a good heart.
Lazada sell dielectric grease.
Read this: It is sometimes referred to as tune-up grease and is a silicone-based grease that repels moisture and protects electrical components against corrosion. It is also used to keep dirt, water, and other elements out of electrical connections.
Giving money the your Filipino wife's parents is a given. I married a woman from Masbate City and moved her to Florida. I the past 25 years, I have sent $100 per month to her parents. It does not sound like a lot of money but it is to them. The best thing you can do is make sure her parents and your family has health insurance which is very cheap in The PH. I understand healthcare is not that expensive in Kat's country, but trust me a hospital stay can add up with an ICU costing $600 a day. IF you do not have that type of money, get her parents healthcare cover today.
You look so relax with your adopted family, Michael. Great to see this with your welcoming attitude.
Pool immediately in back of the resort is still closed and looks like it will remain closed. Yes the other pool further towards the back is great and magnificent. Hopefully they will realize to reopen that closed pool "one day".
Dielectric grease on all connections resist salt air, always used on boat trailer lites that go in salt water
Hi Mickle just a suggestion in your shaded area in your farm green house you could put grow lights in problem solved cheers
I worry about the rain on the lights with no roof there, not sure yet but I did get grow lights for the seeding orocess inside the kitchen if the house
Use ur old veggies for ur compost helps with growing many blessings from North Texas ❤
and leftover food from the c.b.
Haven’t you heard of gasket seal or caulk? And solder the wires then use heat shrink to seal it! Cheap and easy to fix that! You should also compost the restaurant waste for the garden soil.
Except the meat. Vegetation only, mix with yard cuttings, leaves, etc. I have one and there are so many worms in the soil that it never fills up.
But you can’t solder inside the light socket or inside a receptacle. This is where dielectric grease come in handy.
I enjoy your family videos.
You don’t have to change out your faucet. Just buy a 5/8 male to 1/2 female reducing adaptor.
Then again, it might be easier said than done in the PH.
Electrical: I'm an electrician and while I have never heard of using dielectric grease on connections, I did run it through Chat GPT and it seems to be an acceptable way to prevent corrosion. Put it inside your wire nuts too. We have waterproof wire nuts that come with the dielectric grease already in them. So goup it up and let us know if it solves your problem.
It’s commonly used in automotive
The plastic orange conduit will last long enoug. Ur okay on that
In the wet weather you might get a GFI outlet or even at the breaker box then it covers every outlet connected
U’re a good guy, May u have more subscribers. God’s bountiful blessings be yours and may ur business succeed.🙏❤️🇺🇸
Manure & charcoal will also be useful for the soil.
That's nice of you, Mike. God Bless your heart 🙏. Greetings from the Wild Rose Province of AB
Thats lovely they look lovely people
Shocking Adventures in Filipino electricity!
" It works for now..."
Mate your Restaurant is right on the beach you should have beach chairs with a shade umbrella and have a waitstaff go and take orders drinks, and food people will stay an extra hour and a half to two hours more can sell another few more drinks and Finger food and summer tourist times have buy a BBQ have BBQ and Cold beer
You really need to drain out your seedlings before they start rotting. Just make sure once they start sprouting that they’re kept moist, not wet. Looks great!
You have to think third world when needed. Those junction boxes outdoor, put a transparent plastic bag around them in some type of a tent. They become "indoor".
Hey, that’s the exact room me and the misses stayed in when we came for our visit to Roxas to visit the Canadian beaver. I had a 2 hour massage and body scrub on that bed lol.
Nice video. Soon complet ur family. Stay healty and enjoy your life 😊
Congrats on the new pup/dog... When you petted him, Wookie !!!!
Outside the Greenhouse, you can plant squash, sweet potato (for red/yellow chips and the young leaves for your salad and sour soup), sweet corn, banana and lemon/calamansi trees (buy the mature trees), etc.. No. Don't cut the poodle's hair.😃
So nice!!!❤❤
hey michael dont trip over the dog number two will you lol
Love your parents, and brother and the new pup. How old is he? I can see the joy in Lara's and Cat face.
GREAT VIDEO
I would stay away from the hydroponics. Especially a small system like that. The amount of time you will spend trying to keep the water temp correct, the ph lvl of the water and the tds. Total Dissolved Solids. Or the food. Small systems like that at every difficult to keep everything where it needs to be in order for everything to be happy. I would stick to dirt. Much more forgiving. Looking great though!
Either way without massive temperature control equipment & expense it's necessary to grow for the tropical climate at sea level. A very short brassica season (broccoli, cauliflower etc).
Have a fantastic week 🎉
Wow, that place is so much bigger than what I thought.
The burnt rice husks are great for fertiliser but when combined with others like coco coir, compost/vermicompost, charcoal and ash can work well. Depending on what ur growing in your garden beds you may not need them to be so deep and can just cut them back with an angle grinder or a saw. Usually 18” is plenty of depth for almost everything (salads, green veges and things like okra, eggplants, tomatoes etc.)
Maybe shrink wrap would work for your outside electrical wires and connections? The kind that you shrink with a hair dryer. Shrink wrap and then electrical tape. The puppy’s face looks like Chewbacca from Star Wars.
Good idea.... I think you're referring to electrical shrink tubing which I have in my shop and use a lot
Someone may have already tried to give you this “heads up”, you may want to contact a fellow TH-camr from Iloilo, Texas Filipinos. He is very knowledgeable regarding building on the beach and dealing with effects of salt water. He also knows sources for materials and supplies that you can’t get at your building supply stores here. If I were you I would contact him immediately before you have to keep redoing and replacing due to salt water damage. He’s a great guy and I’m sure he would be happy to help you navigate through your projects👍
Texas Filipino has dined & drank @ the CB! Michael & he know each other. But I’m forgetting if Michael & Catherine have ever been to Texas Filipino’s place. Or Michael alone even…I’m thinking no, not yet, but I kinda feel like he has visited there. I think I’m mixing up memories of TryScience’s visit there. TryScience is another friend of Michael’s, & when he arrived in Phil, he visited both Texas Filipinos place & CB in the same swoop thru those areas of the Philippines, b4 heading to Luzon….
Outdoor wire nuts have silicone grease inside them to prevent corrosion
Germinating seeds should be in dark room with temperture 16-18 degrees like spring temperatures
Sprouts grow stronger and longer length in the dark, because they are stretching to get above the soil into the sun. If they are in the sun as the seed opens, the growth with be very limited. Best to have them in the shade as dark as possible until they are visibly strong.
520.. same room i stayed.. So nice 😇 Farm looking good.
Starting seeds out from scratch you usually want to give them 48 hours of darkness before you introduce them to light you want to keep them in a damp cold dark place for first 48hours then give them sun light
Get a plastic box/small bin with a lid and put your power bars in them and again, silicone the hole you make in the box to pass the power cord through to plug the power bar into the outlet. When not in use, keep the lid on the box and if possible, take the box inside
Hot glue will make an acceptable weather seal for a lot of your outdoor electrical gear. Using moisture absorbent sachets (the type you get in bottles of vitamins and some food packages) inside your electrical spaces like your external WIFI aerial will work for a short time. You'll have to change them a few times a year especially after one of your famous storms. Good luck with the garden and bar.
@ThatPhilippinesLife Mike, correct me if I am wrong here but you're talking about a PARTICULAR situation when a relationship between a white foreigner finds and start a relationship with underprivileged and lesser educated young Filipinas often with no work or in a less stable financial situations here. Come on, you're perpetuating something an unusual situation. These are totally unfair to the general population.
Would it be fair to say that most older white guys go to Dumaguete because they are mostly at the end of their ropes and want to stretch their less than ideal financial situations?
Niced you are starting a relationship with them . Kat must be going nuts LOL
If I were you I would use hollow block rather than plywood so that it will last longer...
Kat's parents remind me of my in-laws....they probably don't feel 100% comfortable staying in such a nice hotel and probably wouldn't be interested in using the swimming pool. I did chuckle when you opened the balcony door and said they can sit out there and hear the Ocean waves crashing in.....as the noise of the motorized tricycles wizzed by down below on the busy street. lol
Yea same with my in laws, but wifey said its still nice they get to experience it👍 took my in laws shopping one day. They refused to enter any expensive store😆
Simple beautiful Of you Kat,,,Lara is so so cute
Also start a composting bin, its great for the soil. But a animal somewhere no doubt want to eat it
Electrical connect prices was valuable info. I'll make sure to bring a bunch when I go there. That is a crazy price. 180 piece set here is roughly 7-10 US.
dont you worry about the little girl falling ou the front of your beach deck"
Yeah I had the same thought when I saw her holding on to the railing with seemingly nothing underneath to prevent her from falling
I wonder if u can order electrical boxes Amazon.. then again maybe import fees. Also maybe some of the solar companies have access to better products.
The wire nuts are about the same here in Cali. U.S. also you should buy some silicone to plug up and waterproof the electric.
Possibly replace circuit breaker with gfi ....simpler than replacing outlets
Everytime I’ve ever had seeds pop I put them in just a damp paper towel in the dark. Too much water can drown them so they don’t grow at all. As well as when they are small they usually only need a drop of water a day until they are over an inch tall obviously depending on what they are. Then you just want to keep the soil moist. Maybe other people have different methods.
Cool 😎
Lovely
Are you aware that hydroponic and aquaponic vegetables often lack essential nutrients? Compared to soil-grown greens, some vital nutrients-like iron-can be reduced by more than 50%. For instance, studies from the French Agricultural Conservatory highlight significant deficiencies, with some nutrients like magnesium, zinc, and calcium being drastically lower. Off-ground veggies grow quickly and look great, but they can be poor in essential nutrients.
Agree!
You can do gravel on the floor to avoid mud.
...either way..gfi circuits are likely to trip often in that environment. But safety is worth it
you can put gravel on the floor to reduce mud
hello where is the other dog name Archie? that new puppy so cute eh!
Wise Chinese Philosopher: "We'll wait and We WILL SEE..."🤗
Hello Lara and parents
you need to pack some desiccant silica gel pouches (like to ones in new shoes) inside the electrical boxes. otherwise it will sweat inside and corrode even if you seal it. if you cant get the pouches then wrap some uncooked rice in tissue and put it inside to absorb the moisture.🤓🤯🤞👍🙏
Maybe reach out to Texas Filipino for electrical questions. He seems to be a wealth of information. Congratulations on all your success.
❤John 3,16 ❤
Chewy or ewok for new member of the family 🎉
Curious you put drainage holes in your dirt beds
I'm thinking the same thing . But I did notice the bottoms weren't a tight fit n was a gap all the way around.
Maybe grow Brussels sprouts and Baby Kale for Canadian Salads.
Good vid, but all your vids are good.
Hello beautiful Lorra, I miss you.🫶🏻🙏🏾🇬🇧
I have to say able looks like an ewalk from star wars, in the face.
You can call the dog, Wooki. After the Star Wars character. Han Solo's side-kick.
The orange flexible PVC hose is not advisable for outdoor use when exposed to the elements because it is not designed to withstand prolonged sunlight. Over time, it becomes brittle and may disintegrate within a year or less, depending on its thickness. It is primarily used indoors, either inside ceilings or embedded in cement walls, but rarely in flooring.
I suggest using a rigid, non-flexible orange PVC conduit instead. Burying it just a few inches underground should be sufficient, but make sure all joints are tightly connected to prevent water from entering, especially during hurricane season.
For outdoor outlets, a GFCI with a waterproof cover will work fine. However, it is also advisable to replace fuses or ordinary breakers with an RCBO for added safety. Keep in mind that you're now in a 220V AC country, unlike the US, which uses 110V AC. Getting electrocuted at this voltage is no joke.
Wishing you good luck with your farm, Sir, and more power to your channel! 🤘😃👍
All that burnt material gives for nutrients is nitrogen. Too much nitrogen isn’t typically good either. You are better off ordering earth dust nutrients like I commented previously another time. It has two steps one for veg and one for flower it is extremely easy to use. It has bone meal chopped blood worms bat guano and other things in it. I always use that vermiculite and cow shit and my crops get fricken huge.
Baby larra is so cute ❤️❤️❤️
i know it hardly ever rains there 😎- but u need to get some sort of overhead protection over the seedling tray(without blocking the sun) -otherwise u gonna flood them out if there is ever a pop up squall and no one is on site to cover them- just sayin' bro.
We all like that about money any country
You need to shop at a electrical wholesaler weather proof ip 66,67 fittings and fit safety breakers,
Nice hydroponics system
I think james from texasphilippino might know where to get the outdoor water proof electrical boxes
"Sick of getting electrocuted." Wow!
I typically order online if local hardware stores don't have it.
Be sure guys be update a vaccine for your new pet
My Filipinas mama lives with us and as long as mama's phone works she's happy😂. She never asks for anything but we will always have mama here with us. I got lucky as well. My Filipina and her family have their own money
Lol. michael i am your grandfather, i have made 14 children and now watching you become a stepdad… 😅😅😅
30 us $ for those twist connector here in West virginia
Oh ok that's not that different then, it's been 5 years since I was in Canada so I knew my pricing might be way off!
The puppy looks like Chewbacca so maybe Chewy, although chewy is why you got rid of RED! lol!
