I'm SUPER excited to see how this year goes for you! It sounds SO fun! We just finished fumbling frustratingly through ECC, ending with our own activities, and are now moving away from MFW. I was also considering using SOTW and purchased the first two volumes. I adore how you're adding to it using vetted resources to make it complete, and it looks so full and rich! Thank so much for sharing your picks. Your videos always encourage and inspire. Have a super fun year, and looking forward to you your updates.
Thank you so much for this encouragement to me! I’m glad you’re finding my videos helpful. I am excited to see how next year goes… I always overplan and then have to adjust as we go 🤦♀️ but I think it gives me options that way too. What are your plans for next year?
We are using the same volume this year and it will be our first experience with SOTW, I am adding it in addition to Simply Charlotte Mason early Modern history and I am super excited about it. i have the audio for SOTW so I think they will really enjoy listening to it.
Author study, how fun, we are doing composer, hymn and artist studies this year. I like this idea..... Also we are going to be doing a bunch of homesteading things and I had heard of that cookbook but forgot! I am for sure going to grab that now I've seen the inside. Awesome
@@BlessingsatHome I love those little extra studies! They seem to enjoy them. I grabbed another book by Nourishing Traditions and I’ve really found it when opening and confirming. Hope you enjoy it!
I took our activity guide (story of the world) to an office store and had it divided. I had the teacher part spiraled bound and the student pages hole punched( to go in a 3ring binder). It makes it so much easier to make copies.
It’s done so well! I really do enjoy doing them. I didn’t grow up with Hymns and have been learning them all as an adult. I’m glad my children will have a more solid foundation.
I’ve heard a few moms say they also didn’t care for the Who Was books and I’m just curious what is your reason for that? I got a few we might use for next year but we have never read them before.
I personally noticed a bit of an agenda in them that didn’t agree with our values. I like the way they’re laid out and the ease of reading for kids. But I did feel they had a very left leaning agenda that just didn’t fit for our family.
@@Kenziesedits_009 I will say I did read 1 or 2 that weren’t like that before noticing it which is why I’m going to try these. I’m not sure if it was the ones I chose or if it was something they added to later editions or what. 🤷♀️

@@DownHomeWithLemonPie thank you!! I did order the Founders Book today!!! We aren’t doing American History next but the following year. I am always building up my library. I am going to grab the others as well slowly.
I will list them in the description today and tag you. 😊 Also I haven’t found SOTW to be non Christian. Granted we have only used the first book but I found it to be well done and referenced God in an appropriate and honoring manner. I am adding in the other pieces just in case. But honestly I don’t think, at this point having not read it, that’d it would be necessary.
Have you ever looked into Notgrass History? Not trying to throw too many decisions your way but we are switching away from MFW and it is a very streamlined one year only American History program that might be perfect for a roadschooling year.
I love the idea of doing an Author study. How do you plan on doing it? Would love to hear more. I have struggling learners and the Who Was series have been a game changer in our house. They are short and sweet but, get the gist of it.
I’m still working on the Author study. I’m planning to have one per semester and just read the biography as a read aloud and then two of their works. I’ll likely have it as part of morning time or perhaps evening reading. I’m not sure. But I did see there are some literature unit studies on the site below that would work to go alongside them, especially for my big girls. www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/blog/2015/10/oliver-twist-literature-unit.html
@@DownHomeWithLemonPie thank you! I love this idea alot and had not considered it before. However, we have used her lapbooks and my son that graduated last month was a huge fan of them! I just never incorporated an author study.
Love your videos and I'm excited to follow along on your journey. I was wondering what made you decide to travel and sell off at a time like this? Meaning food shortages and gas prices etc...Do you have a back up plan? Also I would love a RV tour when your done. I loved your white curtains you had up in the video. Where did you get them? Also, will everyone ride in the truck at all times or will some be in the RV? Just curios so I thought I would ask. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you have an amazing time!
Thank you! We actually decided before things were going south so quickly. The land we live on isn’t owned by us directly but by family who need to sell. We’ve decided to trust God in this whole endeavor because of the examples we see in the Bible and because he has walked with us through many challenging situations in the past. The Bible does tell us to recall those times he didn’t leave you during times that seem uncertain. This DOES feel uncertain now as things in the world are changing BUT God will go with us and show us the way 😊 I will DEFINITELY be getting an RV tour up soon! We are still tidying up the last few things. The children and I will ride in our van and my husband will be pulling the RV. (Although I imagine some musical chairs may be going on too at stops between our van and his truck) Yes, TWO CARS! Double gas! 😬 But again God will help. Always has. And our faith and the faith of others watching will be strengthened and prayers His Kingdom grows because of it. 🥰
Oh I totally didn’t mention the curtains! Thanks for complimenting them. They are actually from our bedroom in our home. I just cut them down and hemmed them up. They definitely aren’t perfect by any means but they’ll work for now 😊
Awesome!
Thank you!
Very nice.
Thank you! We are excited to get started!

Ok now that is smart! It’s a bit bulky so having it separated would be handy
HYMNS!!!!!! YES! I grew up on hymns. We use the same book during our morning time alongside some old hymnals from church.

We got the Hymn study book too last week. Do you think the Food Anatomy and Nutrition cookbook could also be considered for health?
