- 🚂🚢🐟Join us today as we spend a few hours enjoying the LAKESIDE AND HAVERTHWAITE RAILWAY in the pretty Leven Valley at the southern end of Lake Windermere.
🚂🚢🐟Lake Windermere is in the southern part of the Lake District, which is found in the county of Cumbria in the country of England within the United Kingdom.
🚂🚢🐟We start our journey at the Lakeside station. Get off the train briefly at Haverthwaite before heading back to the Lakeside station.
🚂🚢🐟You could spend a lot longer at Haverthwaite, enjoying the food offerings at the station or exploring wider afield. But be mindful of the last train time.
🚂🚢🐟It is also possible to do a reverse journey and start at Haverthwaite.
🚂🚂The railway service was established back in 1973 and the steam engines haul traditional 1950’s carriages.
🚂🚢🐟The Lakeside station has a host of other attractions. There are Windermere Lake Cruises, an aquarium, a gift shop and a café.
🚂🚂At the Haverthwaite Victorian Station you will find a childrens play area, woodland walks, tea room and a gift shop.
🚗🚗The postcode of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and adjoining attractions is LA12 8AL
