This movie is underrated.. the songs are actually so good and John C Reilly has really got some serious talent.. I'm glad he scored this movie to showcase his musical talents as well as his comedy
Seriously, the ending song 'Beautiful ride' is genuinely a fantastic ballad. Music is arranged wonderfully and the lyrics are ridiculously profound in general, let alone for a John C Reilly parody film.
@@juliannehannes11 it seems that not many people know that but when I first heard him sing "Cellophane" in "Chicago" way back i thought he had an amazing range. Guilty as charged and Royal Jelly are my two favs from this but it's a shame that most people have never heard of it. It's super underrated i.m.o.
There's another clip here of the two of them performing it for real in front of an audience. Her real vocal isn't perfect, but. it was great seeing them do it that way!
Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shapeshifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil. But, a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to opposed me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future where my evil is law. Now, the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku. (Couldn’t help myself)
What makes it even more funny is that I know a few older parents who would listen to this and think its an innocent sweet song that more people should be singing. LOL
It’s practically criminal that in a movie full of original songs, not one was nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards in 2007. This song and/or “Walk Hard” should have at least been nominated.
I had 3 bowls of Blue Dream before I saw this the first time. I laughed so hard I gagged myself and threw up in my own lap. The noise woke up my roommate, and he's half asleep looking at a guy covered in vomit who is giggling like a schoolgirl. Must've been weird for him.
The best line of the song: Dewey: “Here I am sneaking up behind you.” Darlene: “You can always come in my backdoor.” Me and my roommate laughed for weeks after seeing this. 🤣😂🤣
I might be overthinking this metaphor, but I like how her cross necklace gets thinner and completely disappears throughout the song. Representing her change as a person for Dewey 0:25 1st necklace is huge 1:32 2nd is smaller but still pretty big 2:08 3rd is thinner than the last two 2:20 Necklace has completely disappeared
_That's what she said_ What I love about English being my second language is that I can be singing this on my living room and nobody would understand the lyrics.
I don't know why all these times I thought Darlene was played by Christina Applegate. Than I watched it again recently and just realized it was Pam-A-Lama-Ding-Dong.
This movie is highly under rated in my opinion.
Short Star Wars Essays Agreed, it is so hilarious and the music is amazing!
practically "not rated".... I never hear this movie in top-whatever lists, but it's definitely in my top 10 funniest movies of all time
RIGHT?! Highly underrated, especially John C Reillys talent
One of the funniest movies of the decade. Definitely underrated.
Underrated? It's one of the most beloved comedies off the 2000's.
This movie is underrated.. the songs are actually so good and John C Reilly has really got some serious talent.. I'm glad he scored this movie to showcase his musical talents as well as his comedy
I love the entire soundtrack!!
He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Chicago where he sang Mr. Cellophane. He's phenomenal.
Hey man, I've been playing John C since Days Of Thunder
“I CAN’T! WE’RE FRIENDS!”
That part always kills me. 💀😂
triple slap!!😁😂
I can't. I'm a Jedi!-AS
"Ok, when then here's to us being great friends"
It always kills me when fools quote a specific part as something special.
@@peteranserin3708wow you're so above everyone by not finding certain things funny! A true superior!
Feel better now little guy?
I cannot express how loud the laughter was in the theater when he was banging the hammer. One of the best moments of my life lol.
Pam went hard with the "THERE HAS BEEN A MURDER, IN SAVANNAH."
I do declare!
I just died lmfao
@@Turkanation Wrong kid died
I think you mean Pan. Pan,
Don't know why Pam was cast in this movie. It's weird how John C Reilly sings and then they have a double for her.
I mad that most of the songs in the movie are actually well written and performed but that’s also what makes the movie hilarious 😂
If they would have done poorly the movie would have been a joke instead of a comedy! They really nailed it with his one, glad it’s on Netflix now
Seriously, the ending song 'Beautiful ride' is genuinely a fantastic ballad. Music is arranged wonderfully and the lyrics are ridiculously profound in general, let alone for a John C Reilly parody film.
It also helps that John C. Riley is a vocally trained singer with a a musical theater background
@@juliannehannes11 it seems that not many people know that but when I first heard him sing "Cellophane" in "Chicago" way back i thought he had an amazing range. Honestly yeah. John C Reilly being a real singer and musician makes it all the more real, but hot damn, the songs are beyond good.
How they never won some Academy Awards for this soundtrack, I'll never know. What an immense amount of talent!
At the very least, Walk Hard shouldve been nominated for best original song
The whole soundtrack is great 👍
The comedy curse!!!!!
@@stephenmoney4722 Its not the Comedy its the people who give out awards, they only scratch eachothers backs for things. Its all bs.
This one the is my favorite parodys ever and the soundtrack is like a country Tenacious D. One my favorite is in stepbrothers at the end.
I love how obvious the overdubbing of Jenna's voice is. No attempt at making it subtle haha
There's another clip here of the two of them performing it for real in front of an audience. Her real vocal isn't perfect, but. it was great seeing them do it that way!
@@TheShoemakerb1 where? I saw the one he did with Kristen Wiig live but not Jenna Fischer.
That was Kristen Wiig unless I missed another performance
This song is actually fantastic. Well written and the melody is on point.
Innuendo usually doesn't get much of a laugh out of me, but this movie was a whole other level. Hilarious.
I thought she was attractive in the office, but she's gorgeous in this
Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shapeshifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil.
Agreed
Aku From the future Just can't stop thinking of Andy from the office in this, and Pam, where is Micheal in this movie?
Aku From the future I know for real!!
The Fallen D.W. by Reese G. Also Daryl
What makes it even more funny is that I know a few older parents who would listen to this and think its an innocent sweet song that more people should be singing. LOL
those parents are the opposite of the ones in the beginning of the movie lol
2:22 I love that reckless hammering
Hilarious!!! Like a Tex Avery character LMAO
It's my favorite part 😂
“I’m gonna beat off….all my demons.”
God this movie was a masterpiece
I just randomly sing this to myself once in a while 😄
Hilarious movie, great production values and amazing songs.
One of the most underrated movie ever, everybody should watch it.
"you can always come in my backdoor" is crazy work lol
I love how they’re just randomly working in a wood shop, for no arbitrary, particular reason.
This song is so wholesome and innocent😂😎😏
Besides being funny, it's a great song.
The cut to the carpentry bit is gold 😂
I always laugh so hard at that part
It’s practically criminal that in a movie full of original songs, not one was nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards in 2007. This song and/or “Walk Hard” should have at least been nominated.
I watched this stoned. whole movie was amazing but this song in particular made me crack up. "in my dreams you're blowing me... some kisses" LMAO
I made that mistake and almost choked laughing so hard
"That's one of my favorite thangs to do"
I just wanna beat off
All my demons
My favorite line.
“I’m gonna beat off… all my demons…” 🤣🤣🤣
One of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life, need to rewatch this soon!!❤
if you don't have it already, get the 2hr version on dvd. It is so worth it and the only way it should be watched in my opinion
Yes it was
The Song is Great
But the lyrics are A Different Level
"I CAN'T! We're friends!"
When he's hammering and riding the horse are the best lol
The best line of the song:
Dewey: “Here I am sneaking up behind you.”
Darlene: “You can always come in my backdoor.”
Me and my roommate laughed for weeks after seeing this. 🤣😂🤣
You filthy little girls!
But yer just friends!!!
@@RugbyGuide i can still get them pregnant through the back door, I just aint tryna get me no monkey disease I could pass onto Miles
This movie and Step Brothers are two of my all time favorites.
This movie is so underrated. It’s sad how underrated it is. This movie is one of the best comedies ever.
I might be overthinking this metaphor, but I like how her cross necklace gets thinner and completely disappears throughout the song. Representing her change as a person for Dewey
0:25 1st necklace is huge
1:32 2nd is smaller but still pretty big
2:08 3rd is thinner than the last two
2:20 Necklace has completely disappeared
Thank you
Wow. *begins slow clap*
This is like a Quentin Tarantino level attention to detail in a movie. Great eye
Wow, good eye!
You’re definitely over thinking. 2:08 is the same cross as 0:25. But 1:32 and 2:08 definitely show a thinner cross
The most obvious I think was
“You can come in...my backdoor” 😂😂
closely behind: I'm going to beat off... al my demons.
In my dreams you're blowing me
...some kisses
I just wanna make out.... what your saying
The first two line set the tone
"In my mind you're blowing me.....
some kisses"
"That's one of my favorite things to do"
😂
One of the best comedies ever made. Bring back quotable comedies.
This movie is hilarious. Watched it many years ago. Absolutely underrated.
What a professional relationship
1:25 basically describes the plot of Walk The Line.
The genius behind this movie is insane!
This is one of my favorite movies of all time.
This movie was a comedic masterpiece. My favorite movie all time and not ashamed to admit it😂
so sooooooooooo many innuendos
I would never have become a musician if it wasn’t for this movie
The writers of the music in this movie need a raise, a Grammy, an Oscar and some fudge brownies with sugar in em!!!..
What's funny is i watch this movie in my childhood, so then when i watch Walk The Line years later i got serious deja vu LOL
I’m just now realizing that (let’s duet, together) is a massive double entandra.
Nate DS after all these years ....damn you’re slow
Euclid’s Chemical Equation In another 10 years he’ll figure out how to spell entendre. 😀
Nate DS
Lol this whole song is
Wait till you figure out some of the other lines, like "you can always come in my backdoor" also has 2 meanings 🙊
I'm gonna beat off.......All my demons!!😂😂😂

lol me and my friends used to do bits from this movie all the time. such an underrated movie
His random hammering kills me 😂😂
This film was ahead of its time.
Holy hell, did John C. Reilly just SING?
He has sang on several occasions, including in albums
He got his start in musical theatre
Check him out in Chicago and in his bluegrass band!
Ya 12 years ago dummy
Yea that’s not his vocals
Back door entry for the win!!! 😮😮😊
In my dreams you're blowing me"and that's where I lost it so funny
I love this movie so much.
That ice cream cone scene pretty much sealed the deal.
Amy Adams and Jenna Fischer need to do a film where they play singing sisters
Yeah, and throw Isla Fischer in there as well.
The smack scene kills me! 😂😂😂
A better musical biopic than Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman
And Walk The Line.
Combined
Finally someone said it
That's because it's a parody of the musical biopic, particularly the ones they had around this time, like Walk the Line and Ray.
And Elvis
Brilliant movie so underrated
"in my dreams your blowing me...." 😂😅😂
After watching this scene, let's just say that Dewey wasn't the only one to... Walk hard.
He had great willpower when they were making all that furniture. I think a lot of people would've broke down and go I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE at 2:27

Jim is punching the air rn after hearing the first line of the song...
Wow! You guys are blowing me… away with this 50% off sale.
Hahaha, I almost forgot about this completely but something made me dig it out of my memory and I had to search this video and watch it again.
This song is so so good unironically. But nobody talks about that
If you ever watched the director's cut; they actually got real musicians and songwriters to come up with these.
This movie is still as funny as ever

The second slap after a short pause after the first one gets me everytime 😂
Wonderful video and song... Love it.
*pam?*
heavydirtysoull she plays Pam in the show the office.
Andrew Skelton *OH REALLY?*
Pam is obviously dubbed over. Lol.
She was dubbed cause she took singing lessons but she didnt have the hot voice they were looking for so they git another hotter chick to sing
Angela Correa does Darlene's singing voice.
She was dubbed by Kristen Wiig
