Russians leave locals to starve in liberated Ukrainian towns | Life on the frontline

  • Jack Ross is a British volunteer aid worker helping to deliver supplies to the Ukrainian front line.
He returned to Ukraine from his UK home as soon as news broke of the Ukrainian army's successful Kharkiv offensive.
"My role in going over there early is to make sure that recently liberated people have enough food to survive." Said Jack explaining his initial plan was to return in November before the counter-offensive changed everything. Adding: "We saw after the Russians stopped occupying places like Bucha, Irpin and Chernihiv they literally killed every living being in sight… Just to deprive the local population of any food sources."
Donate to Vans Without Borders: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/vans-...
His return was so last minute, he had to do without his usual band of British-led Vans Without Borders volunteers, instead enlisting the help of Eduard and Justin who provided the necessary support as they travelled along dangerous bombed-out roads.
En route, they met Commander Oleg Shiryaev, who was pivotal in granting them outsider access to the heavily restricted Kharkiv areas.
After giving aid to people living in Izyum, Jack and his team headed to Donetsk, to give food to rural villagers living close to the frontline. Their time there was cut short as security advisors warned anyone who was not military personnel to evacuate due to a 'Russian rocket attack in Kramatorsk'.
"It’s concerning when our security advisor friends said they’ve left already and we’ve got to get out sharpish," said Jack as he and his team packed up and sped out of Donestk.
Jack and the Vans Without Borders team will stay in Ukraine, as the army liberates more territory along the frontline.

Is there any international aid being sent to Ukraine with food and clothing ? I have no idea but could they not be an international rescue plan for all Western countries to send aid to the lovely people of Ukraine ? I'm thinking to myself they must be something in place something that has already been organized but I have not come across anything so what is the situation ?

we do a lot in my local town, sending about 30 tons of aid a month (Hull 4 Ukraine) but this is a small organisation of local volunteers. the big organisations seem to be doing nothing and I can't work out why. with their resources they could solve the problems there, which is primarily the winter and all that brings for civilians and a need for rebuilding.

Russia's Invasion and Annexation are not legal even by Russian standards and definitely not by anyone else's standards. Let's start with the de-nuclearization of Ukraine.
The Budapest Memorandum was an agreement signed in 1994 that provided assurances to Ukraine if it agreed to give up its nuclear weapons. The security agreement had the following assurances:
[1] The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine
[2] The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their obligation to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine
[3] The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to seek immediate United Nations Security Council action to provide assistance to Ukraine, as a non-nuclear-weapon State party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, if Ukraine should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used.
This was signed by Sergey Lavrov, Representative of The Russian Federation and Boris Yeltsin of the Russian Federation. Apparently, The Russian Federation and Sergey Lavrov do not keep promises. The United States of America does keep its promises.

I'm glad there are people with the courage to go into these areas and bring people food and water. I don't know what those big organizations thought they were going over to Ukraine to do. All those donations to them aren't doing much good if stuff is sitting in warehouses not getting out to the people.
I hope HIMARS catch the Russian invaders on their way out of these towns. They have no business messing with civilians or their food supply! It's most surely a war crime!
