#10 'The PLAin Truth About the Commodore 64 PLA' at World of Commodore 2017

On December 9, 2017 I attended the World of Commodore 2017 show in Toronto to see (and hear) what was happening in my local retro computer scene, but mainly I wanted to sit in on a presentation by PLAnkton creator Francois Leveille (eslapion), entitled "The PLAin Truth About the Commodore 64 PLA." I recorded about 95% of Francois Leveille's presentation running about 28 minutes long.

IMPORTANT ADDENDUM
It should be noted that the original "U17 PLAnkton" project was initially kicked-off by Fredric Blåholtz (@e5frog), mentioned by Francois Leveille at 28:55 of the video. In Mr. Blåholtz's words:
[The project] started with me making one of those Nightfallcrew PLAs with the XC9536 and it worked pretty well...but it was not fully compatible - so I shipped one to Francois to find out why it wasn't 100%.
Francois had shown needed skills with his EPROM PLA and had the equipment [to investigate further].
At the time, the source VHDL for the mentioned version was not available (it is now) so I put together my own code and with Francois's low-level investigations, I changed the settings and code to reach the proper timings (where they matter).
Francois decided on the needed circuitry, I CADed the board to specs - and success!
Francois was overwhelmed with joy and wanted to start selling it right away. I was onboard for a few batches, selling it in Europe, but it was quite time-consuming so I sold my part to Francois and he has been making it by himself since last year or so.
The full name is actually "U17 PLAnkton", as can be seen on the board. I thought it was important to highlight where to plug it in as some boards have the SID in the same region where other boards have the PLA.
