This has to be my favorite video so far, love the down to earth practicality and in reality most luxury items aren’t worth it. I stopped buying heels, not enough social outings to justify (kind of like with the cocktail dresses). Won’t spend money on flash in the pan trends either. I bought a Karl Lagerfeld heart shaped bag so got the look without the cost! Thank you, would love to see more like this 👏

This list was actually super helpful to me because I don’t regularly buy luxury items and need to be very careful and selective of what I buy when I DO make the occasional splurge. I never would have guessed any of that regarding swimwear and tights! Thanks!

I am with you about designer jewellery! Most of my jewellery is from jewellers as you get far better value for money and the size / quality of diamond is more important 😉 I do love the Cartier diamonts legers though - the small detail makes a big difference 😊

I agree especially on jewellery. Last month, I bought my first pieces of jewellery from Cartier and it was only a couple of rings. I just wanted to collect something from their jewellery range. I’m a huge fan of their watches, but Cartier is up there among the top watch makers. However, I couldn’t bring myself to buy the bracelets and necklaces when I thought about how much more gold and diamonds I can get from a jeweller for the same amount of money.
Love your video as always ❤️❤️❤️

Regarding sneakers, you have to try On Cloud sneakers. Hands down most comfy sneakers ever! I have three pairs to have some variety in color and style because I wear them so much. As a mother, super durable and comfy. Recently went Italy and went on few tours that lasted hours. Wore my OC sneakers and my feet felt great at the end.

I agree about sneakers! They’re so cute but you either end up not wearing them often enough to justify the cost OR you do wear them enough and they get dirty/worn down as a result - either way it feels like such a lose-lose situation for the price tag

    • @AngelineLee7

I own the Gucci bee sneakers for years, and at first I didn't wear them as much but have started wearing them to work (I commute on trains) - I wore them when I went on holiday too; walked 12+ hours on them for days, got them on dirt sand, under heavy rain, they were dirty and I just cleaned them after I got home. Almost 5 years later and they still look pristine condition so they were worth it for me given they were much cheaper back then, though I wouldn't buy them now at their current price!

I do like designer sneakers but for an odd reason. I can’t wear heels all day any longer and most flats don’t provide enough support for my feet. So I like designer sneakers to get away with wearing them to the office! I work in a large office that requires smart business casual. It’s hysterical to me but it’s totally acceptable for me to wear sneakers if they’re Dior, etc. I am able to find many on the resale market so it keeps the cost down. Also, I’ve had good luck with cleaning them when needed with a Magic Eraser or a clean shoe brush. I sell them online if i decide I don’t want them any longer. On the weekends or personal time I am running around in my regular sneakers from Nike, etc.

Nice isn’t it?! 😂 There’s always a slicker smartass for each idiot in this world. The same for a beautiful pleated skirt I saw on Mango 100% Poliester, I thought I could get something better so I started to look up online and I found in net-a-porter 2 pleated skirts, being one from MaxMara, one of them for about 235€ and the other for about 550€ both Poliester or another artificial fibres!!! I went back and I purchased the Mango one for under 30 €. Even if we have the money we have to be sensible and not allow others to steal our money laughing at us and making perfect idiots of us.

To be really truthfully honest, i dont think there is any item by any luxury brand that exists where u couldnt find another item somewhere of the same quality for a fraction of the price. I have seen incredible quality leather bags hand stitched and so immaculate but a fraction of the price because they dont have the luxury badge stuck on them, and same for jewelry and clothing, i do however own luxury items as i do enjoy the luxury but i am balanced and get a bargain when i can too 😊 i also view some classic luxury items as an investment due to constant price increases, so having a classic timeless luxury item like my chanel brooch for instance, is a good investment as their value only keeps going up xx

They also have designs like the individual 10 or the stay ups that are better designed (stay ups that actually stay on your thigh, individual 10s have individual legs) that avoid the falling crotch problem.

Yeah i agree on all your items mentioned especially on jewelry. I do have the Cartier Diamond necklace in small but i see that is so common in the local Jewlery and in fact their gold necklace is much more substantial with higher content of gold as compared to the Cartier one. Although i do wear it every day but moving forward those very common design from Cartier, Tiffany i will not buy them. I will have a video which i mentioned if luxury fine Jewlery is worth the money coming soon which i had filmed but yet to find time editing it. I bought the VCA Alhambra Vintage Necklace since that one is a very unique design of the house which i tried to look from the local jewelry but can't find the one that i love. Yes, the local jewelry has very similar design of Love bracelet too. Who will even really go near to see if that is Cartier. Items purchased for the name = everyone trying to get a Birkin. It's not even a practical purse and it's not a nice shape. There are much nicer classy shapes for small purses and much better shapes for when you need more space in your purse. Like you can't even hold it comfortably if you have a lot of stuff in it. And for classy evening purposes when you want something chic, the Kelly is much nicer and Chanel has better purses.
Also everyone trying to get a Goyard is just after the name and trend. If I'm gonna go for exclusive and elegant, I'd go for Delvaux.

I agree with all of these categories and don’t buy them. The other things I won’t buy are designer costume jewellery, fake gemstones or pearls and anything gold plated. I live in Australia where we have a huge variety of gemstones and the highest quality cultured pearls in the world all of which are ethically mined or grown, there’s no other sort here, so why bother with fake ones. You can also get them at good prices if you know where to look. I won’t touch anything gold plated because gold is a very soft metal and it wears off fairly quickly. White gold or silver that is rhodium plated is the opposite. Rhodium is one of the hardest metals on earth and it takes a very long time to wear off, if ever.
I also take the so called carbon neutral and totally ethical jewellery that companies are getting every TH-camr out there to flog with a grain of salt. I have a close family member who is a scientist and when I told him some of these stories he asked, “who do they think they are kidding?” Unfortunately a lot of people who are taking them at face value and not asking the relevant questions.

It’s interesting that you mentioned designer jewelry, since jewelry holds more potential as an investment compared to handbags

I think she meant designer branded. You can get fine jewelry at a fraction of the price that isn't considered designer but still has value

Most designer jewelry -- like Chanel -- are costume jewelry, meaning they don't use the finer materials such as pearls, diamonds, precious gemstones, silver, gold. As a result, their jewelry pieces wear out faster or tarnish. These are referred to as costume jewelry. Unless the house is focused on fine jewelry, it will most likely be costume jewelry that's over priced and not meant to last 😅

@@christopherfeatherley definitely. Chanel and quite a few designer houses do have fine jewellery however, just as an add on to your comment. Costs quite a lot more for something simple rather than just at a regular fine jewellery boutique.

Just invest on stocks, real gold and diamond branded or not, and property, worth so much more in the long run compared to branded things, “luxury items” is only marketing strategy those brands use to get rich and make us poor! 😂🤣

I regret buying an egg yellow handbag. The least suitable color for my outfits. 👎

I think if you are going to spend the money on luxury jewelry from a particular fashion or design house, you should already buy their signature pieces. Ones that are unique to the brand. Otherwise, you are absolutely right about what is the point of spending all that money if it is not identifiable to that brand. There was absolutely nothing special about the diamond necklace and bracelet you bought from Cartier a few years ago. That was a complete waste of money as there was nothing special about those pieces and you could even tell they were Cartier. Probably one of your worst purchases IMO. The juste un clou bracelet was definitely worst it!! Plus you got it a while back and duty free. 🤑👍🏼

Well sure, the video is about luxury items that I purchased that I didn’t think were worth it (for me) 🙃

What a weird comment... She is speaking from her experiences after owning them and share with us how to save some $ from certain luxury category which i very appreciate. I certainly wont be interested to listen to someone talk about topics when he/she dont have much much experience on it 😅 be it luxury, business etc
