Frank and Frankie here, giving a big shoutout for your mouthwatering Rome food video! Your passion for local flavors is contagious. We're taking notes for our own Italian culinary adventure! We are headed there in Feb 24.
Thanks for sharing!! I'll be heading to Venice, Florence, Rome and Positano in 3 weeks and I'm someone who likes to have an idea of what specific foodie spots I wanna try before I arrive. Hey everyone! We hope you enjoy this video and we know that this trip was 2 years ago but with international travel slowly returning back to normal again, we thought now would be the perfect time to share our favourite restaurants in Rome! Melbourne & Sydney later this year too :O Really just depends since we don't really want to pay extra for any predeparture tests 😅 Let's hope for the best!!
Thanks for showing other Millenials all the tourist traps in center of Roma-- you should rename to top 10 tourist traps in Roma for Anglo Saxon Millenials who wouldn't know a rigatoni from a torronelli.
Hello! We don't have an extensive guide but I believe alot of museums and attractions are free during certain days of the month (i.e. first Sunday or last Sunday of the month) so keep an eye out for that when you research what attractions you want to visit. Eating at more local restaurants and avoiding tourist trap restaurants can save you money and ofc the food will taste better! Also there are heaps of free water fountains around Rome (old looking fountains that are always flowing with water) so bring a water bottle to take advantage of that especially considering they charge water in most restaurants which was a shock to us since tap water is free where we live. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!!! AG & Aleana 😊😊😊
Need to go out of the historic center to really eat well here in Rome. If one hasn't tried the good restaurants where locals really go, then it is easy to say food is good in the historic center.
I forgot if we vlogged it or not but we had Pompi twice and their tiramisu was really good! Although we barely had any other tiramisu so don't know how it compares to others
May I ask, what time of the year did you guys go? And was it super busy? Seems like it was during the colder months, and I'm planning a visit in late January.
Hi guys, are you sure that sourdough bread was “complimentary” at Da Enzo? It’s €2.50 per basket. A lot of people think they’re getting it complimentary because they automatically bring it out to you, but you will find that it is added to the bill! I learned that the first time going there, not that it matters, it’s still cheap anyway!
Ooh you're probably right, our mistake! But yes still very much getting haha. They were giving bread to the people who were waiting in line tho which was cool 😆
Da italiano, mi fa piacere che tutti e due pronunciate nomi e termini italiani in maniera corretta e non come fanno altri che quando fanno queste cose pronunciano tutto in maniera sbagliata. 👍
Ciao,in Rome there are a thousand typical restaurants to discover, and not just the tourist ones where the queue doesn't exist. Then, the pizza at Bonci's is good, expensive, but even here, it's not just him.
Some good spots, but a number of very touristy places too. These aren’t really the “top 10” in Rome, but more like the ten places you ate at and liked.
@@ed1pk, It’s hard to name a “top ten,” especially in some kind of order. I did give a bunch of recommendations on another thread, so if I can find it, I’ll try to re-post it here. a great report, except that, in Italy, the "ristorante" is a technical term, different from the "osteria" and the "trattoria" and those stand-up pizzerias and the coffee bars! so when you say the Top Ten Restaurants, you were not quite accurate. but it is still an excellent report. perhaps you can just say: top ten eating places...that's general enough.
Osteria Da Fortunada was pretty good. There last ni. Wait staff was kinda rude quite honestly. Don't eat a gang of pasta either a few hrs B4 bed. It'll keep you up all friggin ' night!!
Hello! Depends on the place tbh but for sit down restaurants we'd say around 60-80 EUR for 4 people then 30-50 for more street food/cheap eats items. I'm sure it would have changed a bit now since we went pre-COVID in 2020. (Also prices are not including drinks and cover charge so maybe add another 10-15 EUR on top of that) Hope this helps :)

The restaurant you recommend Da Enzo. We didn’t mind waiting an hour expecting the food would great. I ordered the lamb chops, let me tell you there was no meat on them just bones. The spaghetti wasn’t good at all. I spent over $100 euros and left hungry. Sorry I don’t recommend you go there it’s a waist of time. I was there March 28, 2023.
Osteria da fortunata was an overpriced tourist trap. The pasta was so salty it was awful to eat. They take advantage of American tourists by asking for a tip. You want a tip after charging 18€ for a terrible plate of pasta ?? I can’t believe every vlogger recommends them.
@@locavore_eats well usually a jewish ghetto refers to a holocaust term, which is more like an urban prison. i'm aware that the word predates the holocaust, but for example i can tell you in berlin it's called the jewish quarter, rather then ghetto. so while i understand why you meant and yes it's possible and not all wrong to call it the ghetto, and also yes i'm aware that the jewish population used to be confined to a certain area in the city although no prisoned in it, in today's culture (which is extremely important when discussing jewish prosecution) just calling it a ghetto without giving any context might be misunderstood. in my opinion. in any case it's not a jewish ghetto today or was during the ww2 and i consider this to be an important distinction.
@@dganiteg Ghetto it's the proper name because the neighborhood is called like this, everyone calls it like this here in Rome. It's one of the first Jewish Ghettos in the world, established during 16th century and was home of some tragic events during ww2, when nazis deported more than 1000 people to Auschwitz. So it isn't actually a ghetto today, although still most of the people living there are jewish, but it has been for centuries and the neighborhood is still called like this by Roman people. The term is really not out of context as you said.
