I love Ozzy’s voice and disagree with those who think he wasn’t talented, I think he was great! However, my favourite vocalist of all time is Conor Mason of Nothing But Thieves. Absolutely beautiful, emotional, powerful voice that has gone under the radar for far too long, but I’ve seen him rated as the voice of a generation a few times recently, and he really is.
With great respect to all those you mention, they were all great. Steve Marriott had something more, extra special, range, grit and tons of deep, deep soul, especially when he was in Small Faces. Compare his version of "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" to Smoky's original. Smoky is very good, but Steve's version has so much more soul it give me goosebumps... Sadly, when he formed Humble Pie, he made a point of changing his voice (and appearance) to a harder, more rock sound in order to lose the screaming teeney bopper fans, and perhaps to sound like what he thought a rock singer should sound. - who knows why exactly, but he did lose some admirers of his singing...
He like all us would include the genius David Bowie in a top ten list of great singers. `Wild is the Wind` is a perfect example of how Bowie could deliver an epic song demanding a pitch perfect vocal with pure passion.

Read Ozzys book. Brilliant read. Guy is hilarious. That guy lived a life.
The five best singers for me: Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Sam Cooke.
Mike Patton, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson and Ozzy himself.
Excellent list tho I'd replace bruce with dio...
@@tristanblackmore9772 yeah that’s a tough one when I made the list.

Otis Redding, Joe Cocker, Micheal Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Al Green, Paul McArtney, Sam Cooke, John Fogerty, Marvin Gaye, Smokie Robinson…🎤
Marriott was truly great, I would put Paul Rodgers & Joe Cocker up there with him. Certainly among British rock singers anyway!
Steve Marriot is a legend!
Paul Rodgers
That guy is SO fucking boring. What the hell do you people see in that guy? And to think he was in Queen. OMG he couldn't touch Freddie's nut sack when it came to range and dynamics.
There's really so many fantastic 9:32 singers. It really comes down to an individuals personal taste. Ozzy is definitely in my top five . Always has been.
Hetfeild , lemmy , dio , Anselmo , etc.
he looks so much better without those glasses
