I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. The 3 biggest factors causing the sewage spill problem in Tampa are weather, building development & sewage infrastructure. Unpredictable storms & the massive construction boom that has taken place across the Tampa Bay region over the last 4 decades means a lot more water

Its hilarious how people today clown the looks of the PT Cruiser and HHR, but the PT Cruiser's looks had folks paying dealer markups for them when they first hit dealer lots.
We had a Chevy HHR SS, and really liked it. It had 260 HP. Was great until my wife ran into a big rock in a parking lot and broke the intercooler. Lot used big rocks for parking lines.
I had a HHR. It was a solid vehicle that did everything I needed it to. It wasn’t exciting to drive but it held my drums just fine
And they're NOT ugly!
My 2010 has 219,000 and it's still going strong. 2nd transmission though...
Rave 4 easy to work on. And great on gasoline.

I'm waiting for a deal on a 2017-22 Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon extended cab.
I've been driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado, which has been super reliable, but it's time for an upgrade.
Drove an HHR when they first came out. I rented a car and they'd just pulled it off the delivery truck. First person to drive it. It was the worst driving car I've ever been in. The driver's layout was terrible. It road like a log wagon! :P
Glad to hear that you dealers have all of these screaming hot deals. When will we consumers start to see this??
That's what I want to know. Looking for a 10 year old Camry, the prices are ridiculous.
I have a 2013 Impreza with 45k miles thats in mint condition in the interior however a recent hailstorm has turned it into kinda golfball on the exterior. I made a insurance claim and they want to total it out for 4.5k total which is absurdly low. With interest rates how they are, I just closed the claim and will keep driving it as a golf ball until the wheels fall off. It's insane that used cars are nearly as much as new cars but selling a used car gets you almost nothing in value. There's a 2022 impreza with 30k miles here for 19k which is 5k off the price of a brand new impreza.
I have a 2006 Nissan Altima. I paid $100 from a family friend 6+ years ago. It had about 65k miles on it then and now has about 80k. I haven’t driven much since I became disabled.
It ie a 4 cylinder automatic. In the 6+ years I’ve had it it required the replacement of a rotted brake line which cost me about $300. Normally I would have repaired it myself but the disability makes most car repairs a thing of the past for me.
The only other thing it needed was a coil pack which I replaced myself. The coil was about $20.
So in 6+ years it’s only cost me $325 in repairs plus a few oil changes.
It’s been one of the most reliable and inexpensive to repair vehicles I’ve ever owned, so everything Brandon had to say about them has proven true.
I lucked out with it being a 4 cylinder and it being the last year before Nissan started using their wretched CVT transmission.
It replaced a three year old Nissan Rouge that looked and drove like new until its CVT transmission failed. I lost about $6000 on it in less than a year of ownership!
I strongly suggest everyone avoid any Nissan with an SVT trans, even if it’s a late model with low mileage!
Hey Brandon, could you also mention the mileage of those cars ? I usually buy older cars but I try not to go over 100k miles unless the car is immaculate, in my area people seem to like lower miles.....

45 yrs being a auto wholesaler, traveled the country buying for new and used cars for dealers , before the internet, loads of night sales ...now if ur the only bidder ..start at 4 hun..u can always negotiate, the dealers have no mercy , auctioneers , work for the sellers...

Good deal on that Model S. It still has the battery/drivetrain warranty!! If I remember correctly it was 8year unlimited mileage on that year battery & drivetrain. Enjoy it!!

@CQA/Brandon- Any commentary or insight on the Randy Marion Stellantis store and their Fleet Repurchase situation, where they are trying to cancel their Sales and Service Agreement ?
Ford's prognostics is better. Prognostics is an engineering discipline focused on predicting the time at which a system or a component will no longer perform its intended function. Monitoring the health of a system can be used to warn of an impending failure. Such as: If it is known that a pump has a certain flow rate at a given energy input, monitoring those parameters will give an indication when the pump is starting to wear out.
I checked out the new channel - it was cool to see Brandon's hat have a brand label (I think that's what it was) that stands out.
The "intangible asset" of a brand that becomes recognized is valuable to the business owner and it's 100% fair to have a bold-enough brand label everywhere that the public comes to recognize. Most of auto racing survives on large companies putting their brand names in huge bold letters/decals on the race cars and as hard as you guys work, you deserve the benefit of a recognized, memorable brand, Cheers and good luck with the new channel!

Generally, they're all 175K-200K, thus the low cost and why other dealers aren't interested in bidding.
Would be really interesting if you could do a video, in several parts but linked together, from the purchase of a car to its sale and everything in between.
I bought a 2013 Tesla model S P85 from TH-camr auto auction rebuilds with 275,000 miles really cheap! I’ve had it five months now problem free and 250 miles of range. I love it so far! They are good cars!
I am coming down in your area at least I could get one or two because in Portland Oregon this week 3k cars sold for 5 5I cars selling for 7,8k can't even get a bid in they start 1 over wholesale

All the auctions that I used to go to charged a progressive buyers fee like you said but one a car reached a certain amount the sales fee was based on a percentage like 3 or more but hey that was years ago I'm sure everything has changed over the years good luck y'all and keep your powder dry😊

I think these tanking prices you describe are regional. In the Midwest our economy isn't hurting as bad (apparently) because prices are staying up there.

Brandon! You're joining the 21st Century? A Tesla Model S? Don't let your wife drive it ... I know exactly TWO people who own a Model S (a 2014 and a 2019). The guy with the 2014 had to buy his wife a Model X to get his car back. The guy with the 2019 bought his wife a Model Y as consolation.
You'll note that they BOTH bought another Tesla to get THEIR car back.
He has nothing to worry about haha... I love my van. I've driven a tesla and really enjoyed it. It's not a good fit as a daily driver for me for now, but I'm happy having one in the garage for him.
PT Cruiser and HHR, right there with ya man! When I used to travel for work very frequently I used to refuse them as rentals. Absolute crap box.
I have had plenty of garbage rental cars. 2015 Sentra 42k mile it was trash, 2017 Chrysler 200 8k miles transmission shifted horrible, 2022 Chevy Malibu less than 2k miles the dam reverse cam would intermittently come in while in drive in the HWY. These are my 3 notable junk rentals of the probably 80 I have had in my life.
@@Reptitude Sounds like some of my rental horror stories. I've had well over 50 myself and they are usually the good, the bad, and the ugly. PT's are the purest form of trash on wheels and I'm not talking about just being ugly, they are dangerous. No power, lousy turning radius and build quality so bad that it like the 70's all over again. The worst was when I went to Palm Springs for 2 weeks on business. I think that I got the absolute LAST Chevy Cavalier that Hertz had in the entire fleet. My plane came in late, I was tired and didn't feel like arguing so I just took it. It was parked next to the rental office with the nose just touching the wall. I got in it, fired it up and backed out...the entire front bumper cover FELL OFF! At that point you just have to laugh. I got a nice no-cost upgrade, a Sebring convertible. That was a also a piece of junk but at least nothing fell off...at least nothing I could see...LOL!

There’ve been some ugly vehicles over the years but if I do buy a vehicle I will look at how practical it is for whatever needs I have, whether ugly, beautiful or somewhere in between.

Sir I would like to buy a Toyota Camry or or a Corolla s model preferable Camry would go to 05 and I would drive down there to get it but I'm very patient❤. Price would be 6,500 and they would say it's $500 + administration fee and all the other fees and time they're done at 5500 and when it's all done it's over 9,000. I've always wanted a Toyota Camry. Saved saved and if you need a $500 deposit on one until you find it and if its 5 or 6 months I would be willing to wait. The four cylinders are better. But if we found one say 2000 year model I would take it, and if it would be okay pay your mechanic to put a new timing belt and water pump that way I would be okay for a while. I am on a fixed income. Thank you for your consideration.

used cars are not investments they are an expense. and only an expense. what people do k ok t what to accept is that the market of cars houses etc has been monopolizd by a collaboration of banks financing companies together with manufacturers dealers auction houses . they all collaborate to keep profits high meaning prices high and to get you into a monthly payment for years with interest. it's called debt. or slavery.

Question for you, please: Ok, you have to have an inspection on the car (and incur a fee for same) but does the auction place also have to have an inspection to auction the car? I appreciate the information you supply though I intend NEVER to buy another car.
