Mokujin from tekken wants to buy ur car lol. But seriously this is where art meets science and engineering at its purest form. truly a beautiful and amazing creation.
The Morgan wooden chassis cars arent supercars at all. (neighter is this one, but that's another discussion) Morgan made sports cars.. they do make the Aero 8 which has more performance. but that one ain't made of wood
I was following the development of this car via his blog. He was granted lots of patents for new ways of using wood. For example, the outer body panels are a weave-like fabric, the suspension looks like a giant hunting bow, the rims are fully wooden... One of his tricks was to swap the cylinder's heads, so the exhaust is on the top. Amazing engineering.
Incredible job Joe. Composite or laminate wood is very very strong and resilient. Congratulations on a job very well done, from an engineering standpoint as well as aesthetics. It is truly a work of art 👍🏻
Now let's see this again with some more exotic woods mixed in~ I'd also love to see the headlights and taillights redone with Transparent Wood, a la NileRed.
Im not a big fan of cars but that is the most beatuifull thing I've ever seen. My life is ruind now knowing i will never own one. Great job thanks for sharing
This is an amazing creation. Real determination man. Hats off to this dude for his patience to build this car out of wood. But how do you handle the heat from catching the car on fire.
Imagine wasting 9 years on a car that’s completely impractical, and later come to the conclusion that if I say that this was an engineering exercise, I won’t be so mad every time I see it. Yikes.
"The coolest thing about this was realizing that I've got the absolute best friends and family that somebody could ask for" ... my grandma said the same thing once, referring to her bout with cancer
The great thing about a wooden car, if you break down in the middle of nowhere you can at least camp out and have a fire. Hey if your heater core fails, just light it up lol.
Love this car!! I wish he would get with a big shop and make this out of regular materials to see the performance his design can achieve. Beautiful design, love the shape.
The sound of the engines wow music for the soul! Which reminds me...does anyone else also almost only listen to rock music like Metallica/Delta Parole/Oasis when they drive? Whats you guys favourites?
I wish this car would have been made also as a production model. What an amazing vehicle. Obviously you would have to do it with stronger metals but could you only imagine? The inspiration for the company would have been this car
I remember a UK car called the Clan Crusader which had no steel or wood in its chassis. The entire monocoque was constructed entirely from fibreglass and they were reported to be incredibly strong. I think they used the mechanics/running gear from the Hillman Imp. Not many made - remember seeing one at a car show many many moons ago when I used to show my 2 Ford Corsairs - a 2000E and a Crayford convertible.
From an engineering stand point It's very Beautiful..the builder is realistic with its use and It Does belong in a museum or display...the way the world is going it could become more user friendly. The tech is so advanced now that it could be made from anything...
I would've built the chassis out of morning wood, nothing's stronger

The sad thing about this comment is that your genius will largely go unrecognized lol you might be the funniest person alive!

Imagine building a car for 9 years and have never gone over 30 in it.
He says it probably does 200mph with a probably 650hp engine. Maybe
Yeah I bet his family is pissed at him not helping him with anything ever again
Better than spending 9 years building it just to die in a crash
@@Ultimatechristian072 doubt it..He specifically said if it gets to hot the panels will start coming undone...I think it's cool but I'm not sure why you would put such an engine in it if you aren't going to be able to even go fast
Probably a reason he has only taken it up to 30mph. My Mazda pickup can theoretically reach over 500mph, given the right conditions.
Normal cars have crumple zones, this one? Splinter zones.
Only car where you can say: "Shiver me timbers!"
I was thinking this is all kinds of bad if it does hit anything at speed
Lmao
Call it vlad the impaler
Much at stake when you crash it..
I've seen this car in person during a trip from my hometown to Greensboro. It was a sight to behold, to say the least.
It's beautiful!!!

Well, it’s time to get Doug DeMero on this
Thiiiiiiiis is a splinter I got getting in.
He will want it on Cars and Bids
DeMero? 🤣
No features, 1 quirk
a-THIS..... is a wooden car. But not ANY wooden car.
Much respect for this guy and to everyone who supported him❤️ i really hope he gets more fame & recognition, he deserves it!
Dam wouldn’t want to get in a crash in that
Oh dude, I think too about this, when first see's this car
Knock on wood he doesn't get into an accident.
i wouldn't want to get in a crash period (wood or not wood) ..
A crash in any car is bad. I can tell you that, because I've been in two of them.

There's a LONG list of things that man does that he shouldn't. This is low tier. Nonetheless, you are correct! Let's hope it doesn't become a trend. 🤞
He did it for a college project

Tell that to Morgan, they still use wood frames although they don't use wooden gear linkages, thats just silly.

God damn that thing looks cool and original. They should make regular ones.
@Harry Thotter & The Chamber of Thots regular meaning out of metal.
@ARandomDude metal doesn't rot?! Wow... Been wrong my whole life... 🤔
Except it'll need better vision. Rn it has zero out of the back!
I'd you think the design is original, look at Ford's GT90

Got to appreciate people with talents like this.

Morgan's have a metal chassis and the body is aluminium over a wooden frame
@@stijnvandamme76 Morgans have a steel chassis you could remove all the wood and still drive.
It's so cool to see the car in action. I followed Joe's blog back when he was doing most of the work, before life put a pause on the initial progress.
I see some GT90 from NFS 2 in it.. this thing in metal would be so cool!
I thought the same.
But better looking.
Solely a design exercise and proof-of-concept but what an incredible achievement in creative art and engineering. Absolutely astounding!
I don’t care what ANYONE says... THIS CAR LOOKS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
That ‘s a valuable unique great peace of American art , definitely belongs in a museum one day, would love to see it in person .🤩🤩🤩🤩
