I was first introduced to Lucius by a NPR | Tiny Desk Concert a number of years ago. This song was one of the standout moments at that time and then again now! 👏👏👏
I was supposed to see Lucius at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland back in 2022, butttttttt, work got in the way. I scheduled the day off, or I thought I had the day off, but someone else scheduled the same day off ahead of me. I really hope they make it back to Cleveland. The Agora is really nice in Clevland. Small enough, but it draws a large crowd. There's also Jacobs Pavillion, an outdoor venue, but it is much bigger. And there still is Beachland if Lucius enjoyed themselves there enough. So if Lucius's Social Media manager reads this, please consider us again.
Ive only just discovered them after seeing their tribute to Boris RIP from Gruhak. Years ago my music teacher asked the class what the most beautiful musical instrument in the world was. The whole class fired back names of instruments. We all got it wrong - she told us the most beautiful instrument of all was the human voice - ive lately been re-discovering this time & time again.
Y'all are one of those rare acts who are invariably better live than on a track. There's an emotional honesty in your performances that's always better left unedited.
I've seen them do this at the Peace center in Greenville ,South Carolina. They were playing at the outdoor amphitheater that's part of the entertainment complex. When they did this song they came out in the audience and let the people surround them! I've seen over a thousand concerts, and I never seen nor experienced anything like this! Their singing was exquisite and the emotional output from them and the audience was almost overwhelming. I can hardly remember a time when I was so transported! Lucius is a national treasure for sure.
This one's such a banger. I've been listening to their 1st tiny desk concert forever now (over 5 years) but this version of this song specifically is amazing. As many times as I've watched/listened to this I never realized their mics are offset because they're different heights 😊 that's awesome.
I became aware of Lucious after seeing these 2 ladies with incredible harmony sing back-up for Roger Waters. I googled them, found their music and bought their CDs. It was a wonderful discovery and have forced my friends and co-workers to listen to them. Always looking forward to listening to their new work and look forward to the day the come back around to the San Francisco area!
Marvelous voices! What a band! Luv ya all since KEXP "Go Home" version in 2014! Please, come to Brazil, and PLEASE bring Brandi and JONI with you! God Bless your Souls and your Talent! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🎵🎤🇧🇷
More often than not. But they do switch. I’ve seen ‘‘em a bunch live. Back when Andrew was in the band the 3 of them blended so seamlessly it was sometimes hard to tell who was doing what even tho their voices are all very different. They are brilliant musicians. My favorite band to see live. Such an exhilarating experience.
@@johnstinchcomb8156 Became a fan about month ago (mid Jun 2023) so certainly not an expert but, it seems like Jess is the lead vocal when there is one and Holly sings in harmony, sometimes high, sometimes low. My favorite example is the Live version of "White Lies" at the Girls Just Wanna concert held recently in Mexico. Jess/Holly, if I am right then please reward me by coming back to Canada!!!
Great song
One of my absolute favorites. They are so incredibly consistent, best harmonies out there

I love the way the split mic now acknowledges the height disparity :D
100+ times listening to this song I swear and it’s never not moved me so deeply and so simply. Unmatched.

That was beautiful ❤
This song feels like a warm cozy blanket for my soul.

I've been a huge fan of Lucius since San Femin's "Sonsick", before I even knew they were Lucius. Can't wait to see you again at Ohana.

I think the tall one sings the higher parts, yes/no?
Yes
