Excellent restoration, I've only seen clips of this. Do you happen to know the year of this film? I ask because my family were involved with the SK for around five years in the 1970s and Warwick was always one of the best musters. Early on, my parents and uncles formed a cannon crew and often reminisce about the difficulty of getting the piece of ordnance up onto the castle walls! Later, my Dad 'turned coat' and became a royalist, finishing up as a herald - we still have his costume. I was a young lad at the time and thought the whole thing was wonderful!
Hello Nick. I'm glad you liked the film. I worked with Geoff Arthurs on it some years ago. He produced and edited the film. I think the film was made approx 1973/4. Not too sure. I did some additional editing and restoration. Geoff passed away in 2013 but I think he would have loved how well it has done on this channel. If you would like to know more feel free to ask. My best wishes.
@@allanfawkes3701 Many thanks for the reply Allan. Musters of the SK were very large back then and this must have been one of the biggest ever - probably in response to the knowledge that a film was being made. I'd have been too young to remember this one, but I vividly recall a Warwick muster of the later 70s which was blighted by heavy rain. A salvo from the 'trayne of ordinance' coincided with a cavalry charge hitting a wet patch and about half a dozen of them unseating their riders! I clearly remember the gasps from the assembled public! Happy times before health and safety was dreamed of...best wishes, Nick
Love it
Thank you for your interest
