I don’t think that seasons technically needed a world however I think it would have benefitted even more to have like a rustic country kinda world. And maybe something like in eco lifestyle with the community lots where it could change based on season. Maybe in fall it’s a pumpkin patch, and in winter maybe it could sell trees. I still think that seasons is the most necessary pack though.
Perfect Patio, Backyard Stuff and Spooky Day stuff should’ve been saved to be in Seasons
Yes the packs should of been in seasons
Omg yes! It would make so much more sense x
@Rachel plays With ginnea pigs No, City living is a seperate expansion pack. Merging two expansion packs would be too much to ask for.
Yeah though I really actually like backyard stuff but I hugely regret buying perfect patio. They should of had those bars that could be in a pool as well, such a missed opportunity to bring back that
Everytime i put a hottub in a build my sims just go straight to nap in it. Sims are weird lol. But honestly i use the 20th anniversary hottubs with roofs more often than the perfect patio ones so I really don’t recommend anyone buying it
I feel that Snowy Escape is basically the wintery mountainous version of Island Living.. i think they are packs that focus more on the world than gameplay itself. Though i like that they introduced new cultures to the game
When Hotels come - and I'm pretty sure they will come - we need Wolds where you can do vacation stuff..... a winter vacation pack, that works without seasons was a must-have before that. Really hope that Bon Voyage/World Adventures comes with Africa.....
@@johannvandebron986 I think hotels would mix in well with like a casino or Vegas style pack.
For me snowy escape is one of my favorites. I love it so much! I took my sims on vacation it was super great I can see myself using it both once in a while for vacation game play as well as living in the world itself for living game play. In some of my worlds I don't live in the snowy escape world but I love visiting the festivals! I love everything in this pack.
Personally I think snowy escape has the best CAS items, the clothes for both feminine and masculine are really great!
@@aanaya5 same!
I've started to use the club system as like an *online dating system!* If I need my sim to meet someone new, I use the filters and add a new sim into the club, and then I make them go on "dates" via the club gathering and it's honestly a really great way to fake having that kind of gameplay!
That’s a great idea!
Me too
"When she puts cats and dogs in tragic clown"
Me: WHAAAAAAT! THATS MY FAV PACK!
Yes it’s mine to and she put fitness stuff pack over it no hate but come ON !!!
I completely agree about eco lifestyle. I wasn't aware of simmer's opinions because i had just started to play and it was the second pack i bought, after seasons. I love the gameplay it adds, the build and buy items, the aesthetic of the cas items (i use them all the time). I've got a lot more packs since then and I think i was spoiled with eco lifestyle because compared to that a lot of the other expansion packs seem small and dont impact the game that much. do not understand why the community doesnt like eco lifestyle
I think people don't like Eco Lifestyle because of the bugs (mostly the NAPS and how they impact the "NPC" Sim AI, some of which they've fixed in a patch I think but I'm not sure if they've fixed everything) and because getting the neighborhoods to change how you want is kind of awkward/also buggy. And, well, it's awesome to make things but supposedly candle-making and fabricating can take a long time lol. Otherwise, I suspect a lot of people would like it! I really wanted to get EL when it first came out but the bugs (plus the pandemic putting a damper on things) kept me at bay. I want to buy it whenever it's on sale again and I have the money for it. :)
Oh, also, I think people are a little irked since EA created a survey for one of the first community-designed game packs, and Off-the-Grid won but was ultimately transformed into Laundry (no one initially voted for laundry lol.) Since then EA has given us that idea through updates and Eco Lifestyle. While it benefits significantly from becoming an expansion instead of a game pack, some people might be annoyed that the price was ramped up because of this. That's just a guess though! We also had crafting transformed into just knitting and many people have been mad at Laundry and Knitting for winning over other ideas so... there's that too. Snowy Escape was ALSO a survey pack result and some people are irked with how it's implemented while others are probably happier they finally got what they asked for directly this time. There's a lot of feelings wrapped up in these surveys which probably has some effect on the general opinions floating around.
Eco Lifestyle is definitely a great pack--it's so weird the packs the community chooses to overhype versus underhype, isnt it? I think part of the response was due to its timing--a lot of people were hoping for generations or farming--so I think it just subverted people's expectations at the time of release. But I found that some of my most unique and interesting sims have come out of interacting with EL--it even made me a better story teller because of it. It's honestly a very underrated pack, and you are not alone in your opinion :-)
@@DoveJS its true that the naps can be very annoying. roughousing encouraged drives me nuts when the npcs vote for it while im not paying attention
Honestly, a lot of people like it now
It was under fire at release because of a number of reasons
1)there had been a fake leak about farming and that's what people thought it was going to be so they were disappointed
2) both of the trailers for it were literally absolutely terrible and all around the marketing just made it look like literally one of the worst packs ever
3) at this point we had had a series of packs that had a lot to do with the environments and green living and living off the grid and people were really getting sick of the theme
4) there was and still are so many quality of life improvements and base game updates and bugs that need patching and fixes, so a pack that had nothing to do with that didn't go over well
5) a lot of people like family gameplay and Eco lifestyle doesn't really have that going for it
6) a lot of people don't want pollution in their game especially if they use the Sims as an escape from reality
7) it came with literally so many bugs dear God I cannot describe how many bugs it had and still has
8) once it came out that the pack headband largely inspired by that First community vote that ended up with laundry day, people were really mad about that because they had been voting for a stuff pack, they hadn't wanted an entire expansion pack dedicated to that theme
9) a lot of the clothes look like they have patches or trash or like they're upcycled and so on, and not everybody likes that aesthetic
10) in general a lot of people were in agreement that that pack was not even close to what the Sims should be putting out or what the game really needs, and that opinion largely comes from the fact that the Sims 4 lacks in areas that the previous games didn't and there are certain features and packs that this community has been asking for for years now that still haven't been delivered
Personally, I like the pack despite being critical of it when it first came out (those trailers dear God) and I think most of the community has come around to it aside from the bugs. But yeah, that's pretty much why a lot of people didn't like it and why some people still don't
@@elizabethb4168 Yes! Also, Batuu was released on the heels of Eco Lifestyle and I think that gave people a new perspective on just how bad a pack could be. (Admittedly, an expansion versus a game pack but still.) The main issue now is still the initial impression and the bugs that haven't been fixed yet for EL. Also, just look at poor Dine-Out. I think it was received much better and then soured as it kept breaking and getting more tedious to use. Kind of the reverse although if Eco Lifestyle breaks a lot in the future, the general opinion might sour again, especially since it has a lot more impact across your entire game. ^_^;
Thank you very much for placing vampires and realm of magic that high. They are my favorites and very underrated
I agree with Vampires being in the top tier! I am a weirdo and play with it all the time, I have a Vampire Family that is 3 generations atm.
I think the makeup table and CAS should lift Vintage Glamour to Grimreaper.
oh my gosh! i actually ranked romantic garden really high from a storyteller perspective because of how cute and useful the fountain and wishing well are for creating storylines, those two items are staples in my worlds ❤️
I agree with the Vampires, sooo much. I just want more occult in my gameplay, but I know that's definitely not popular opinion.
ngl you did brindleton bay dirty by putting it on the same level as journey to batuu (i agree that cats&dogs is bad tho)
I just think the only reason people should buy cats and dogs is bc they really want those animals and even then I'd caution them against it bc there's really not a lot to do with them. I love the world but it's not worth an expansion price just for brindleton bay
@@EnglishSimmer I agree, like I'm glad to have it because I love building there.. but buy it on sale if you really want it lmao
@Millie Road I agree with you. I love the pets there so freaking cuteeee
@@EnglishSimmer maybe an unpopular opinion but I was SO excited when I got this pack. I love the animals, always make my sims have pets, and have been filling the world with cat cafes and stuff. I agree its a really niche thing though and would only recommend it to people who think the animals are cute enough lol (and only on sale but I've never paid full price for a pack)
Think get to work is underrated. I really love the Scientist Career and the Items, that come with it. Cloning Machine, travel to Sixam, Quill Fruit is am Moneymaker in Gardening, the Baking Skill....
I personally don't play with pets, but it's such a sims staple.....
I'm convinced that if the Moschino stuff pack was called something like Fashion Photographer or something like that, it would of been better received.
Girl you did Cats & Dogs, Vintage Glamour and Get Together SO dirty lol I agree with the rest though.
ngl I'm kinda wishing I'd put get together in the second tier but what's done is done
I use get together for dinner parties where there’s only poor quality pufferfish nigiri
i feel like spooky stuff kind of was an excuse to not do as much with halloween in seasons which is really annoying if u only have seasons (like me)
Sometimes I question if babies in the game are more fun to play with than cats and dogs like the pack is that bad imo.
They are equal.
i don’t even play with sims i make them and build houses for hours then spend 5 minutes or less playing i just like cats and dogs for the aesthetic
I kinda like the fact that you can’t control cats and dog, like why would you even want to lol
Can definitely agree with your placement of Laundry Day... I wanted Arcades so badly and I still want the 80s/90s aesthetic to this day
Hot take: spooky stuff should have come with seasons. Especially because 4 of the spooky day items in seasons are identical to spooky stuff items. I love spooky stuff but it was a reverse my first pet stuff situation
I’m a bit surprised by the cats and dogs placement, but vampires slaps, no question
I’d place Cats & Dogs + Vintage Glamour higher but that’s pretty much because of my kind of gameplay. I totally get that some people don’t really care about that. Cats&Dogs could have been fleshed out better but for what we got, I’m still enjoying it years later. I quickly got over fame, for example, and I have to consciously decide if I want to pursue that route. But with family pets, it just feels like a natural extension of home life. My furry pals are my homies, y’know. Still, like I said, it’s not for everyone. I still think tier systems including all the three kinds of packs is flawed. They all merit separate rankings, even though there are exceptions. Like Paranormal Stuff- I didn’t think I’d even like it but it packs in so much and is the only stuff pack that I think is worth full price. Every department is filled well, from CAS and B&B to gameplay (career, lot trait, even Bonehilda). Or Vampires, for as much as I tend to avoid playing with occults, it was far more layered than the surface level gameplays of Island living and Snowy escape. The latter two are both just riding on how beautiful they look on an aesthetic level but if you scratch the surface, for expansion packs, they’re very limited. I think Cottage Living is a step up. I may not necessarily like the rural farm life (please note I’m the type who enjoys Vintage Glamour kinda vibes) but it was far more engaging than I expected.
Eco Lifestyle has added a lot to my gameplay - so much so, I'm creating/writing a challenge based around some of its features. I'm just really careful avoid the Sharing Is Caring NAP...
my big issue with sims packs is that there is rarely anything added in a pack where I'm like "that is bad" ... aside from when things are outright broken. But when there are additions they're done well: the weather system in seasons, apartments in city living, parenting in parenthood. But for every single pack I always find myself wishing there was more stuff, especially for the price tag on the packs. The additions are good, but the omissions are glaring.
I feel like I'm the only person that *loves* the Star Wars pack, but that's also my main fixation atm so I loved the outfits and the build items and the ability to have lightsabers!!! I do get the criticism, though. It was absolutely a money grab since EA owns the Star Wars games and I'm an unapologetic Gideon Hask stan.
The pack sucks
And you're welcome to feel that way! That's just my opinion, and that's yours.
Ya I like it too, the outfits are really cool and I like the windows (the gameplay is good too)
@@hannasmith6748 Me too!! I'm working on some fun builds that are semi-Star Wars themed. And know, it's just fun to have Star Wars things to decorate like, a teens bedroom?
@@Follow_a_bee I've definitely played it more than I've played Realm of Magic. I love the silliness, I love the style. I've been playing 'Star Wars families' for ages and now I've got the CAS and build items? Sign me up.
It made me so happy to see ROM and Vampires in your top categories! I tend to lean towards occult play rather than using normal sims but I’ve had my eye on Get Famous for a while and thanks to your LP and this video I think I’ve decided I have to have it☺️
Im gonna send this video to my friends so i can get them into sims for Christmas time!!
Plumbella coming up soon with a video telling you you're wrong again😂
Ok but that sweater is gorgeous, it looks so warm and fluffy and it complements Molly's complexion, just beautiful
One of my favorite things about vampires is the build/buy catalog, but I also love that random vampires come to the house. I've had so many Sims meet an S/O that's a vampire or even a friend. I love it when they call up and come round to offer to turn your Sim. I love Fitness Stuff for one thing...EARBUDS! Those are so clutch! Cool kitchen came with the ice cream maker! I love it!
Fun list! We have really similar opinions, except I would rank Dine Out higher because I enjoy building and running restaurants. I also enjoy having a butler for my family, so Vintage Glamour would be a bit higher. Hope you're having a good day!
Yass, I’ve always raved about Vampires. I genuinely think it’s the pack with the best value for money. I understand that if you don’t like supernatural stuff then you won’t like it but if you do, oh my god... it’s just **Chef’s kiss**
Like if it came with an active a career and a bigger world then you’d have the exact same amount of gameplay as Get Famous.
It would be cool to see a ranking for each type of player. I'm a little ashamed to say this, but I'm one of the people who would buy a pack just because I like the build items. And like you said: A builder could love a pack, that a family player wouldn't even touch.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T PUT SEASONS ON TOP. It's great but the weather is literally all we get. I miss the seasonal themed festivals and imagine a world where each neighbourhood has like lots/townies based on diff seasons. Imagine like a winter neighbourhood with like a Santa's grotto, ice rink lot, Christmas markets. An autumn neighbourhood with a haunted house lot, a field for pumpkin picking. That I would have died for.
None of your top tier packs would have made it into my top tier! I do love the way everyone likes different packs, and what is an essential for one person is of no interest to another. Shows how differently everyone plays the game!
I actually like the earlier stuff packs best because they’re actual stuff packs and not “lets see which necessary gameplay mechanic we can cut out of a bigger pack for $10” packs. Bowling, knitting, tiny living, laundry all should have been part of packs that it was released in proximity to while the ones that were earlier released were what stuff packs are supposed to be, you could buy it if you like more stuff, but you don’t need it. I also want my money back for Perfect Patio stuff.
I'm currently loving the fencing from Romantic Gardens, especially for CottageCore builds. And I firmly believe Kitchen Stuff exists to provide the clutter to fill the kitchen shelves for Snowy Escape kitchens. Thank you for believing in Nifty Knitting; I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. I almost regret buying Laundry Day considering gameplay, but I don't know what I'd do without Toddler Stuff. It's strange what makes the game for each of us. Fun list!
I love cats and dogs! All my Sims have a pet, and they make life so much easier. Coming home after a long day of work with really low fun need? Fear not! Per calmingly is here to save the day!
Parenthood is definitely top tier for me, especially since I found out the cheats to give adult sims I made in cas character values, they add so much more character depth
Omg what's the cheat? Sounds amazing
@@LinnySays ultimatesimsguides (taylorsaurus on yt) has them on her website! Just search "parenthood cheats ultimatesimsguides" (I don't think you can put links into TH-cam comments)
Hi, so, this is the first video I actually watched of you channel after a lot of other simmers kept mentioning you. I like how you ranked the packs fairly and also had reasons for your ranking. I kinda liked your aproatch of asking how much fun did this pack bring me instead of, what I usually ask myself, how necessary is this pack for the game. That's why I found myself wondering why you put seasons so low, because for me that's a top tier pack. But with your reasoning behind get famous I understood why and I started to look at my favourites on a difrent point of view. Needless to say, you impressed my, have my sub and I'm looking forward to seeing some of your content ^.^ Merry Christmas.
could you do your favorite mods as well!?
you and i have the same exact taste in expansion packs - i was nodding my head the whole time!
In my own ranking, I put Cats & Dogs in the D tier (Grim Reaper) because while Brindleton Bay is an amazing world and the vet is the best business, the only gameplay is the pets and the novelty of them wears off *quickly* and the CAS and Build-Buy are ABSOLUTELY *ATROCIOUS*
like it is by far the least balanced expansion in existence, they're lucky ppl like pets bc otherwise it would've been an absolute FLOP
Cool Kitchen Stiff honestly came with some great CAS, and there's great Build/Buy, but the gameplay was not very good.
I can’t believe you put cats and dogs to the worse, I can’t play the sims 5 without cats and dogs, it’s defo the best pack ever
Just saying vintage glamour is in either motherlode or rusebud
Vintage glamour is a top tier pack. The furniture and CAS is just gorgeous. I use it all the time
I really love building and the fact that with "city living" you can't build condominiums really disappoints me. Can't put this expansion pack in the motherlode tier. Anyway, I agree with you about the other packs. Thank you for this video, now I think to know what to buy next time. :)
So happy someone else loves Get Famous to put it top tier. It adds so much more social depth to the game and love how it changes jobs. Couldn’t play with without that pack 💯
Am I the only one who likes my first pet stuff because the black swatch on the love seat is PERFECT for making sectional couches? I never see anyone else use it...
I'm loving your videos. I actually went back to watch your tips tuesday and because of you, i'm now creating backup files for my sims game! great video! Your opinion is valued. My top 3 is city living, get famous (i wish we had more music based careers) and spa.
I love vampires, too. It's nice to see it on top of one of these lists for once. 😄 I feel like I would need to do separate rankings for CAS, BB, world/lots, and gameplay fuctions.
My fav expansion pack is seasons. My fav game pack is parent hood. My fav stuff pack is tiny living and nifty knitting. Ik a lot of ppl have been saying nifty knitting sucks but i just personally like crochet and knitting irl so i really enjoyed it. Btw this is only my opinion so dont judge me :)
City living, dine out and spa day are my top 3. But after playing vampires once, I uninstalled because I don’t want those bloodsuckers coming to my house.
That is a very cozy looking jumper.
I'd put jungle adventure higher bc of the build and buy stuff and I also enjoy the gameplay of having my single sims have a pet, so cats and dogs rank higher in my opinion. the vet career is pretty glitched tho
I dunno, I don't think most of the community still hates Eco lifestyle, I don't think it's an unpopular opinion that it's a good pack that expands the game
It was definitely super hated when it first came out, but that's mostly on marketing and community expectations being set by leaks and stuff
But as of right now I pretty much only see people who like it, with a few people here and there who are either indifferent or don't like it for personal reasons rather than how it is as a pack in of itself
I definitely think the cats and dogs pack would be amazing with more animals such as horses
My ranking:
A tier: Get Famous, City Living, Get Together, Laundry Day (I love the build+buy)
B tier: Discover University, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Movie Hangout stuff, Parenthood, Eco Lifestyle, Outdoor Retreat, Island Living, Snowy Escape
C tier: Jungle Adventure, Tiny Living, Backyard stuff, Romantic Garden stuff, Spooky stuff, Vampires, Knifty Knitting,
D tier: Get to Work, Strangerville, Dine out, Spa Day, Moschino, Bowling, Cool Kitchen stuff, Realm of Magic, Toddler stuff, Kids Room stuff
F tier: My First Pet Stuff, Journey to Bateau, Fitness stuff, Vintage Glamour, Luxury Party, Perfect Patio stuff
Is liking Eco Lifestyle an unpopular opinion? It is one of my favorites too! And I love it with Tiny Living. Heck, even Nifty Knitting is cute with it. That whole group plays really nicely together IMHO. Granted, it could have all been one pack combined, but that's the Sims for you.
I really only have four rankings for my games. Full price, 25% off, 50% off, and Not even if it was free.
I use the CAS from luxury party stuff all the time though Mollie!! I also like the buffet table and the fountain. And the build buy I use for formal events. Like th wall curtain lights, the cjairs, and the sequin tables lol. Ugh i dunno why but i feel like i needed to give some love to this one lmao
I'll play too but I want to differentiate the build/buy and world perspective from the gameplay perspective. It'll be a long run this one.
GAMEPLAY PERSPECTIVE
EXCELLENT
- Eco Lifestyle: IMO this is the best expansion so far
- Get Famous: the thing that this pack lacks is rockbands. I love the fame and reputation system and the fact that a sim can be famous in so many ways
- Vampires: this pack is so good gameplay wise, the best for specific gameplay
GOOD
- Snowy Escape: I can't consider it a real expansion, it isn't an expansion, it's just a big gamepack but it's very good in what it offers
- Discover University: University is too long, I played it twice then began skipping it because it was becoming boring. The best addittion with this pack is the roommates system
- Strangerville: I played it many times, I enjoy it very much. I would have loved some more variety in the steps to take to solve the mistery based on specific sims (if the sim is in the military, for example, or in the science career) but it's not too long so even if it is repetitive I play it quite gladly
- Realm Of Magic: it could have been so much better, it could have been a little more challenging, like Vampires, but it's good and it tickles enough my potterhead soul
- Get To Work: I like the retail system and I recogninze that those who want some playable career will find some good hours of play with this pack
- Dine Out: when it works it's fun
- Jungle Adventure: the major flaw it's that it's a long path to finish this, the good thing is the randomness of the configurations that get loaded each time you take a vacation in Selvadorada. The first time I finished my collection it happened that my sim never got the chance to get inside the plane crash site, I managed to visit it only the second time I played this pack, so this makes it more worth it a replay.
- Moschino: I love the improvements to photography that this pack brings to the game
- Vintage Glamour: butlers
OK
- Seasons: I love that there's the option to have seasons in the game, I don't actually like the way they're implemented and I would like to find a way to completely disable seasons without having the Seasons build/buy removed. I'm just saying that I would want more options. There are times where I want to exploit every characteristic Seasons brings around and times where I don't want seasons at all in my game because sometimes they annoy me. So: yeah to seasons but with more customization
- Get Together: I don't use the club system very often but overall I like this pack
- Parenthood: I'm not a family player, I don't want children in my household but I can say that it's a little nice pack to have for family gameplay
- Outdoor Retreat: I love it without seasons, with seasons it's so annoying to collect all. You always have to go back at the right times and if you let it slip away you have to wait for the right season to come up again
- Tiny Living: one of those stuff packs that expands the game more than an expansion pack
MEH
- Cats and Dogs: I find annoying the way pets are developed. I can't know anything about them. I don't pretend to be able to play a pet, I understand the choice here, I at least would like to be able to click on the pet's avatar and see their status. And they get ill so much. I mostly play with ghost pets when I want a pet but I don't want to go to the vet every other day
- SPA Day: I like this depending on the circumstance
- Bowling Night Out
- Movie Hangout: I would have loved it if we had the chance to have real movie theaters with this pack
- Nifty Knitting
- Romatic Garden
- Spooky, Cool Kitchen, Luxury Party, Fitness
- Perfect Patio
TRAGIC
- Island Living: it's a world pack. That's it. Gameplay is near to non-existent. I love living in Sulani but mermaids are a complete disappointment, the careers are boring. The only good thing gameplay wise is odd jobs but that's not enough
- City Living: festivals, ok, but what if festivals popped up in different worlds each time? Having a big fat world just for festivals doesn't cut it for me. It's more or less like Island Living except the world's not nearly as beautiful
- Journey To Batuu: what a waste. I played it and it was so boring I couldn't believe it. I point out that I know nothing about Star Wars, maybe that's why I found this pack to be so void of any significance for me. I can only say good things about many build/buy items, they are stunning, gameplay wise it's just a big snoozefest.
- My First Pet: not worth in any aspect
- Toddlers: this is mostly influenced by the fact that I don't want children in my game so my use for a toddlers pack is near to none. I use it just to build toddlers rooms for my gallery builds and that's it
- Kids Room: same as toddlers
- Backyard: the waterslide is the most annoying item in the game. When you place it down, sims just can't get off of it. They starve to death rather than giving up this thing. It's so unnerving.
- Laundry Day: it annoys me because it's too much. Every single time a sim changes outfit, it adds to the laundry pile and a sim could change outfit many times per day. If you have more sims in an household the basket fills up quickly and dirty clothes invade the house. I used it in the beginning, then I avoided this pack as much as possible, careful to just place non active items in my builds.
WORLD/BUILD-BUY PERSPECTIVE
EXCELLENT

I agree with most of your rankings though I’d have put Cats and Dogs in Grim Reaper. I like having a big dog for my athletic sims to go jogging with. 🤷♀️
the vet business is also the best business in the game! but i just cant with the CAS and BB being that fugly
@@natncat I did enjoy running a vet but it was a once off for me. Like a lot of careers, I guess! 🤷♀️
why did I read the thumbnail as rack panking
oh my god i could cry tears of joy :(( I've been debating for days now whether to get city living, get famous or get to work, but every ranking or opinion I see always puts cats & dogs first and I absolutely despise that expansion so I could never find anybody that would have a taste I could trust omg thank you so much for this, I think I'll be getting get famous, in the end ♥
This is late but if you ended up buying get famous how do you like it?? I'm leaning towards get famous but im not sure yet
@@lilytess7480 Hi! I actually ended up buying both get famous and city living because I really couldn't help myself. If I'm being quite honest with you, I think city living is the better one between the two, but I do adore the fame system and the reputation and I really enjoyed the actor career too (more so the tasks to do before the job itself, tho the scenes are cute too).
@@Liluchipuchi Thanks for the response!! I currently have city living, cats & dogs, and seasons so Im debating between get famous, and discover university. I hear so many mixed reviews on get famous that its hard to decide haha, I'm afraid after you do the acting career once it gets old and it feels more like a game pack in a way
@@lilytess7480 Well... You wouldn't be wrong. I haven't even reached the top of the acting career yet, but in and of itself it's super repetitive. If you already have city living then I have to say that what I enjoyed most wasn't really the acting career but the social media job (i'm only saying this because I'm pretty sure you need both for it to be as expansive), I love the streams and I even got a mod to have it look like twitch and respond to followers lol. On the other hand you also have the whole music producer gig as well, and tho it's pretty freelance, I also really enjoyed it. I don't know, I feel like get famous adds a lot to other careers and having specific reputations for everyone is pretty cool to me. I wouldn't really get discover university because I enjoy playing more with jobs and I'd rather not do classes both in game and irl omg
@@Liluchipuchi If I'm not mistaken you can also earn fame from base game/other ep jobs such as painting, writing, cooking, etc, correct? If so that makes it more worth it imo. I'm considering university because it gives teens something to do
So many new packs have come out since you made this video. Curious where you’d place Cottage Living and the Paranormal stuff pack?
Cats and dogs is so glitchy... my gawd. City Living is the best EP
I just have to let you know. I'm currently watching one of your past LPs. The criminal one. I'm having so much fun I'm my gameplay as a criminal. Lol thank you for all your content you provide us to enjoy.
I dont own all packs. I feel my tops are (in both build/buy and gameplay) would be seasons, city living, uni, laundry, parenthood, famous, get to work.
I do love island living, strangerville, dining, get together, eco and cats dogs, but I wouldnt rank them tops because I dont use as much.
The other packs I have I use but not enough to really say much about.
My favorite packs are; Seasons, City Living, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Spooky Stuff, Tiny Living
My top 3 expansion packs: Seasons, Get Famous and Cats and Dogs (I love building vets)
3:30 and here I am using mods to have even longer semesters 😄 can totaly see what you mean though, I am just a slow player I guess
You use the vanity table from Vintage Glamour all the time fam. The most fun thing from Romantic Garden was the sentient wishing well which I super enjoy. Is it worth buying a whole stuff pack for? No.
I "use" it in the sense that I place it down, I never actually have my Sims do their makeup from it
I am really a career player and I love get to work and get famous for the careers also really like the owning restaurants and vet clinics
Yasss Girl Vampires deserve to be there!!!
Here I am wondering which pack has the scratches, stains and/or dirty stuff because I like building run-down places. Also, things like bunkers and secrets rooms. I think Vampires and Strangerville? (Can someone confirm, please?)
I don't play with my Sims any more, just build. It never happened before, I replayed the hell out of The Sims 2 and 3, but now I don't feel like it :(
Can confirm, I have both. Vamps comes with many cobwebs, scratches, and stains. Strangerville comes with stains, broken floors and some run down furniture. The build stuff in strangerville are really nice to old western bars and trailer homes (which I love)!
Vampires, strangerville, city living has some
@@didip1000 Cool, thank you! I love that kind of builds.
@@kittyplayz1480 Really? I didn't know about City Living. Thank you!
Vampires and Strangerville have most of that stuff, you're right! City Living has some pretty "damp" looking wallpapers and old kitchen appliances, but not as much as the other 2 packs. I also use some pipes and deco machinery from the Get To Work science labs for these kinda builds.
I'm thinking about getting Batuu just for the clothing stuff. I don't really see myself going to Batuu as I am not really a Star Wars person.
I keep having to quit my game on PS5 because of glitches 🙈. I have been trying to get my Sims in university classes but didn’t like how I tried to get more than two classes and they stacked three on top of each other five minutes apart from each other I was like yeah why just not stay on campus lol. Yes mermaids deserve better, I hope they get an update. I loved having a dog in Sims 3 but 4 it’s major meh.
A major still lacking thing for me is more makeup, piercings, more hair and hair customization, and customization for fingernails.
I thought the plot of Strangerville seemed like a rehashing of Little Shop of Horrors
Me seeing university and island living in the top 2nd tier 👁️👄👁️
I'll do top 3 of each and bottom 2 to avoid having to rank all the middle ones that are just fine.
Expansions:
1: City Living
2: Island Living
3: Get to Work
Worst 2: Seasons, Eco Lifestyle
Game Packs:
1: Jungle Adventure
2: Parenthood
3: Strangerville
Bottom 2: Journey to Batuu and Outdoor Retreat
Stuff packs:
1: Nifty Knitting
2: My First Pet
3: Tiny Living
Bottom 2: Luxury Party and Bowling Night
If you think Jungle Adventure is that good you would lose your mind at World Adventures. I don’t know if you have played The Sims 3 but for me playing World Adventures seriously bittered my view on Jungle Adventure (although I will say that as a Panamanian I loved the Central American elements)
@@zyxcba3155 most sims 3 expansions made my computer run like poop so I only really played with base game
I get that, a lot of people had issues with performance. Sims 3 ran awfully for me until I uninstalled and torrented packs into my game for free, which kind of goes to show how badly EA neglected it in terms of leaving it bugged and poorly optimized.
Cats and dogs be done dirty 😭
Why does no one like get to work lol I have never seen a tier list where it is ranked high by any TH-camr.
I CANT LIVE WITHOUT MY ALIENS DONT TAKE AWAy GET TO WORK
Hehe you’re so right about mermaids deserving better. Wish they worked a bit more like vampires.
I have all dlc except Batoo and so many I have never really played with. Never went to University, never play with eco life, only play with fame because no matter what you do, you end up famous for some reason... I feel like I'm always making babies or gardening :))
Get Together would have been lower for me. I just can’t associate it with an Expansion Pack. I love Windenburg and the Tudor houses but other than that the game play is so lacking for me.
I'm not a fan of cats and dogs, but I like the pack just to add the pets... Like I let them do what ever. I never train them or take them to the vet, but I do have them in my family... And Brindleton Bay is nice... Just.. Yeah not worth it.
Great video, always so Fun to listen to what Peoples favorit are, The stuff packs im all with you ❤️
Love you!!
I agree with you tbh
My least expansion pack is
Island living
I have a hard time putting any in "motherlode" because I keep comparing them to their price and previous generations' DLC. Granted I only have 10 packs but still I feel that many of them could've amounted to more and that keeps me from placing them high
i overall agree with your opinions of the expansion and stuff packs. Sad to see you put cats & dogs so low but I can see why you did. Also i LOVE Get Famous, but I would rank it lower because I HATE Del Sol Valley. I think it is the ugliest world. I am surprised you ranked Nifty Knitting so high. Like I think it's good, but I don't know if it's "motherlode" good. For me, that is Tiny Living and Laundry Day. And also I LOVE Romantic Garden and would put it in Rosebud; it is one of my favorite packs to use for landscaping above all else. And for the game pack, besides Vampires and Parenthood (and the dreaded Journey to Batuu), which I agree with the placement, I feel like all the other ones are in the complete wrong order! RoM is definitely my least favorite game pack (besides JtB) while I would put Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, and Outdoor Retreat in at least Crumblebottom, maybe even as high as Rosebud. And while Spa Day is fine, I don't think it is anything special, for me Dine Out ranks almost as low as RoM.
I had bought University but my pc can't handle the world so I can't play it. I think that makes me the tragic clown.
Cats and Dogs deserved better than that..
Sims 4 packs just suck.
I saw this comment from sovereignsimmer on twitter, it is soooooo true that I feel like sharing it under this video.
"""TS2 EP release order was just perfect.
-Our sims became young adults & went to university
-had some nightlife fun after graduation
-then they got back to business
-they added pets to their families
-then they retired and enjoyed vacations
-& hobbies
-they became grumpy landlords
correction: our sims were not allowed to own apartments and rent them to other sims, but the concept overall wasn't that out of place after having all other essential expansion packs.
The Sims 2 EPs actually defined
@thesims
' essential expansion packs. My only complaint about TS2 expansion release order is Seasons. The eternal sunshine was a bit boring.
If Seasons were included in the base game, this release order would be an unbeatable perfection in among any other possibilities.
I wish later games also had a similar pattern."""
Journey to batuu should have its own tier: packs that shouldn't exist at all
Love your videos :)
Your top 3 eps are my top 3!!
I wish I had watched this video sooner I just bought the Sims 4 bundle deal for Snowy Escape Dx I watched Steph0sims review and instantly bought it lol
City living would have been much better for me if there were not High Rise Apartments. I really hate those things.
Top 3 are 1. City Living 🖤 2. University 💕 3. Parenthood 🧸
Same tbh
If you weren't a you tuber and you were starting from scratch, would you only buy motherlode and rosebud, or would you also get crumplebottom?
should I buy snowy escape, island living or eco lifestyle? I watched like so many videos about sims 4 packs but I still don’t know which one should I buy
Tbh, I would recommend waiting for a sale or watch LGR sims reviews. (Sorry if I'm late!)
I don't understaaaand how you can like Eco Lifestyle!! I find it so so soooo annoying, all the neighbourhood action plans mess with EVERYONE, they start doing soooo much random stuff, I just CAN'T . But I agree with the Cats and Dogs one, I neveeer have pets in the sims, they're at most an inconvenience
