I haven’t finished all of the scenarios yet, but I watched this to get an idea of them… thank you for giving just enough info to not spoil too much, but get me hyped to play more! Great video, thank you!
I love the ammount of different opinions in the video AND the comments. I myself absolutely fucking LOVE The Last Autumn and I was greatly disappointed by On The Edge. Keep up with the different opinions everyone. Now, in Frostpunk 2, we will have a city council to voice them. The city must not fall.
So I know this video is a few years old but for real, you are spot on about Last Autumn. I didn't find building the generator very easy to understand and in my opinion the game requires a lot of foresight that isn't very organic to get the best result, but the actual Union and Labour storyline was just absolutely flawless. I seriously wish they would allow for those decision Trees 9as well as Faith and Purpose) in Survival mode as that would legit be all I would play. I came close to beating Living on the Edge on my first playthrough but just didn't have enough coal to give to New London. It's a fantastic game but I really struggled with it. I think if I'd had two more days in game I would have been able to squeak through. Very tricky game.
nice quick overview. ty. would be curious to see what you thought of the district style city builder in the leaked sequel. i haven't had much interest in games like civ where all the operations are at the macro scale myself. i like having to map out and build structure, by structure while also handling other mechanics and scenarios within the og frostpunk. each year when it starts getting cold i think back to this game. don't always play but it's a fun time inside avoiding the cold.
I just finished the first scenario. I have to say this video is by far the most perfect video. You answered every question I had, and you didn’t ruin the experience. Only question I could ask is do you recommend a specific order to play each of the scenarios?
what I dislike about the arks is that the game is too short. In most levels there are also faith and order laws. You dont get any new people so you have to save them all what is pretty easy but that makes certain like like graveyards and hope not that important. You only have to build 5 tents and one hothouse and the place is more then enough. Too bad modding isnt possible, I would like to do so.
I Strongly disagree, I can't believe that advanced Frostpunk players would agree with that, it just feels like an ad... (which it probably is) Here is a more accurate tier list from 5000 hours on extreme difficulty (Maybe the same as DDRJake which is the only good Frostpunk streamer): The Arcs is a solid S tier, It's hands down the best scenario in the game. The Last Autumn is an A tier, It's excellent and refreshing however a bit too slow and the ending is meh. (endless version would be S tier easily) A New Home and The Refugees are B tier, They are great. (It was A tier before the last few expansions) On The Edge is a D tier, The settlements mechanic is just BAD. (The idea is excellent the implementation is terrible) The Fall of Winterhome is an F tier, Lazy, boring and slow. Keep in mind that this is a relative scale, in general, all of them are really good and you should play all of them. Also, this rating is based on hard-extreme difficulty, which is a must, learn how the game works on normal and then bump up the difficulty, don't miss out on that.
Couldn't disagree more. This is one of the tier list were I largely fully agree. S Tier -> On the edge (although the ending was bit underwhelming) A Tier -> A New Home (Epic Introduction in this game) / Refugees (Dramatic until the end and also personal with Lord Craven / Last Autumn (Great as changed gameplay, ending was meeh C Tier -> Fall of Winterhome (Great, challenging but at times frustrating due to the heat zones and the goal timer which is not clear described (general a problem of frostpunk)) What is the weather station for? The path south also never triggered for me. D Tier -> Arcs (Faaaar to easy and unpersonal, also boring without any lasting impression)

for me its
S-a new home and fall of winterhome
A-
B-last autumn
c-the arks
I havent finished-on the edge and refugees
imo arcs would be 3 times better if you had to actually weather the storm
Thank you for this video, that is exactly what I was looking for
