Just came across your channel with your reasoning for trying to leave Australia and trying for Canada. Well to point out a few and I know that you are still learning the Canadian Immigration process, the highest score for language scores in IELTS is for CLB 10 which is 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 (L,R,W,S). The CRS scores these days are really high, the last draw being 510. In your case with only a bachelors degree and less than 3 years work experience, even with highest IELTS scores I believe you will get somewhere in the 440's to 450's which is not going to cut it in the draws this year or not sure even next year. You may have a chance with PNP options where Alberta may select your profile since you are into petroleum sector, but that PNP option is luck based and not transparent since they do not put out their criteria of NOC codes like Ontario or Sasketchwan does. If you can study and clear the French exams with particular CLB levels you maybe able to add around 60 more points, but learning french is a challenge again. Good luck with your journey.

You are absolutely right, it's actually 420 with a CLB 10 which is pretty low in the pool. Provincial becomes the only real way, and realistically speaking, it's the only way for any young, early career individual with a bachelor's because there is absolutely no way you're going to be able to get above 500 points. That's the problem with a points based system because it doesn't actually favor individual immigrants that'll make the overall bigger contribution to Canadian society in the long term. Hopefully the changes coming this November will improve the system.

God speed with your application! The only thing that prevents me from pursuing the same path to Canada (instead of Australia) is the cold/dark weather, much fewer paid vacation days, and less pay. Other than that, wishing you all the best and a swift process!

The cold will definitely be a challenge, especially for someone born and raised in the southern hemisphere. I guess I can always travel back home during the winter to escape a little bit 🥲

Do it on your own buddy, no need for an agent. The process is pretty straightforward.
