    Loved the episode and am a massive fan of the channel but the audio in this episode was atrocious, spikes, distortion, then soft, then blowing out the speakers then muffled.

      @@Dank-One Unfortunately what gets views and attention are things like brand, hype and price tag. Most watch “experts” online don’t tend to know much more than the price and waitlists for watches, honestly the same with most things like fashion, cars, etc

    Wow James, you’ve really worn your Diver like true champ! 💪 I have the same AP Diver, but it’s worn once a week.. lol. Good on you though! I cried in my first scratch while diving and some coral nicked it, but now I embrace it. On my last service, I asked the bezel not to be refinished for that reason.

    Having your video in mind from a few years ago where you went to Hong Kong and told us the story of that watch, I’d happily celebrate these wear marks as „your story“ as you also described the visual dings and scratches. It’s so unbelievably cool to see Someone properly enjoying his watch to its full extend! After repair, I’d continue wearing it the exact same way!🤩

    I have a stainless steel Zenith Rolex Daytona , the service cost is 1/4 of the price when new. The sell price is beyond crazy. I have original receipt when I bought it plus papers and box. Cars and watches go together. The dealer here in the states is offering me list price on my Porsche with 28,000 miles. Crazy times we are in.

    I never get people who buy a really nice Dive/Sport watches and don't wear them. It happens they are supposed to be worn and sometimes they get beat up. Also, I think it adds a story to the watch/makes it your own. I would also say that Constantin Vacheron makes the greatest driving watch, the 1921 American. Absolute perfection with a pair of leather driving gloves.

    APs quality issues... Don't get me wrong. I love the ROO Diver but... Jesus man! Never ever seen that happen on a watch!
    Btw. huge props for using and making all those marks and histories with the watch. That's what gives it real sentimental value!

    It's funny how often people assume if you're a car guy you're also a watch guy. I drive a Lamborghini and people ask me all the time what watches I wear. I have a single inexpensive Movado that I bought a few years ago and that's it lol I suppose I should look more into watches. I guess we'll be on this watch journey together, Mr. JWW.

    I think you’re right to not polish the case it’s part of you and we can’t polish out the scares we pick up through life.

    I’m a luxury watch dealer in the US. Been a subscriber for years James. I too wear mostly AP personally. I did know you only had two watches because they’re the only two you ever wear! 🤣 But I am absolutely stoked about this new line of content! The watch & car world go hand in hand.     I'd relate the 911 to the Panerai Luminor Marina. The PLM is iconic, durable, have been around for decades, not much has changed in terms of the design, it's expensive, but not crazy expensive. Just like the 911.
    And that lady, Megan Young, she's gorgeous.

    The 911 is definitely the rolex submariner...the perfect daily, reliable, not out of place in either a dinner party or a track day...both classics with close ties to their original designs..

    I've always quietly admired your Royal Oaks. They go well with your videos. I also like that you treat your watches and cars the same - you respect the art and use the machine as much as you can. Great cars and great watches hold the same attraction for me for the same reasons. The art in the machine and the machinery in the art is quite pleasing I think. Thanks for sharing this different sort of content.

      Agreed. And a $1000 watch is a budget watch according to 'enthusiasts'. That's probably why they hate smartwatches, because they're the first expensive watches that are actually worth the money lol.

      @@Utahsaint I've had my Samsung smartwatch since 2016 when it launched and have had no issues. Besides, I could just buy a new smartwatch anytime.
      Mechanical watches need to be serviced every 5 or so years and the higher end your watch, the more costly the process is.

      I like watches but agree with you. I'm sure Mr JWW actually likes his watch, but when it comes to most other people.... it's just an elitist thing. And watch-people will *force* you to buy a Swiss luxury watch and if not, *force* you to buy a Seiko (Japenese watch). If you don't? You're a waste of space and they won't consider looking at you. Worst thing is that they consider it to be a necessity and that everyone needs to buy one. (And btw no watch under $1000 is considered premium to them). And don't get me started on how much they hate smartwatches..

      Well I like historical designs and also ones with purpose (field, divers, pilots). The jewelry aspect I'm not much of fan but I started to enjoy looking the manufacturing process. I've made some custom projects as well it's just fun for me.

      Yeah it's fun. My last one was a homage to the royal air force watches used during world war two. I made the dial with the texture fuselage with rivets and a RAF logo.

      If you have any interest in craftmanship and mechanical engineering i don't see how you can't at least be intrigued by mechanical wristwatches. So small and yet so complex.
      Or maybe you just like cars because of the looks and sound? In that case it would be pretty ironic.

    It's a bit refreshing, knowing that though my humble car collection of just 1 car is nothing compared to Mr. JWW, my watch collection is vastly superior. Mr. JWW, perhaps you have caught onto this too, but watch brands, especially AP, like influencers, musicians, artists more. Car collecting is usually an expensive hobby that loses you money, but watch collecting can make you a ton of money. Perhaps after this video, you'll be in touch with your AP boutique a lot more. Looking to see you share your new acquisitions.

    Good video and it's good to gain the knowledge. Things all guys should know about are cars, watches, coffee, guitars, male fragrances, good baggage, home styling, grooming and good clothes/shoes. I love AP, very nice watches, movements are a bit delicate compared to the cases on the Offshores but lovely watches. The price of a factory service will make you cry however!
