The issue was not accidental discharges when "dropped to the ground at a certain angle."
The real issue was, the fact that the P320 model had unintended discharges when holstering it due to the pressure causing the trigger to actuate the striker system. It was an original design flaw that was corrected later on with the "Voluntary Upgrade Program" by Sig Sauer redesigning the trigger and including 2 additional safeties.
With that said, I own a P320 X Five that performs flawlessly, I don't have issues with it. In fact, I carry it in OWB kydex holster. The X Five is a phenomenal platform, which includes use for protection and self-defense.

Went to the site to check out the review (there isn't a link to the actual review in the description, just to the site) and couldn't find one. Currently stationed in Fallon, NV and a local gun shop has the "gen 2" and I'm itching to get it! Your video helped a lot as far as the differences, so that's greatly appreciated. Just a bummer because I kind of liked the stainless steel look of the original one, but if you're thinkin the new one is better I would have to concur. Been going to the store every now n then to check if it's still there and to dry fire it and wow... of the striker fired pistols I've owned/ fondled at gun stores this has to be one of the best factory triggers I've come across!
Searched on the site for p320 x5 and couldn't find any sort of review on it is all, but it may be user error on my part. Could I get a link to it perhaps?

GunnersMate .45 - firstly, thank you for your service to our country. You are correct that I haven’t finished the written article. My competition schedule has really eaten into my publishing schedule. However my original review of the X-Five is still applicable- hope this helps: thrumylens.org/featured/review-of-the-sig-sauer-p320-x-five/

John ThruMyLens it's my pleasure for sure! No worries, I was just curious so this works just fine for me. Appreciate it! Hopefully I'll be adding one of these bad boys to my collection soon!

Like you I have one of each. I use it in uspsa and agree, great gun. A little over sprung maybe. I had many stovepipe with 115gr ammo but runs great with 124. Also I found 20 rounds in the mag is better than 21, I would occasionally get double feeds with 21 in the mag on reloads. No issues with 20. I also think the front sight is too tall, but raising the rear fixed that. Great pistol.

Jonathan Frost - I also run 124s. No issues loading 21 rounds.

have you ever had any issues with these not going back into battery while firing? I know it's described as pretension....but it seems more like an overly tight fit kind of issue that CAN go away with break-in. I'm reading about this right now and it kinda concerns me. I really love everything about this pistol, but am genuinely concerned about that, considering the firing pin will strike forward when the gun is slightly out of battery (a few videos posted on this issue). That being said, this seems to be more of an issue on the Gen 1 X5s. However, maybe changing to a new guide rod and 1911 style spring with a bit lighter of a spring could help that?? I honestly don't know. Any advice on this would be awesome because as I said, I'm totally in love with everything else about the pistol.

Isan Simpson - I have two X-5’s (gen1 and gen2) and have not experienced issue you described. However I did change out the guide rod in spring for heavy guide rod and light spring.

Thanks for the lightning fast reply man! I've been ready to order my X5 for days now, but obsessively research every purchase.

yours even goes back into battery on press checks though? I think that was also an issue for people. Sorry to bug you man!

Isan Simpson - oh yes - not a problem. Although I will say you really don’t have to press check it to see the round in the chamber.

Mine doesn't go all the way back in to battery after a press check ever...

Great video. Just purchased a "gen 2" and was wondering if there are differences in Romeo 1 sights? I've done a little research and seen there were ones labeled mini? I want to get the right one that fits the groove and doesn't look weird. Thanks

Just got my x5 today and the rear sight seems to be a little loose. Help

Zeke Ramos - i’m not sure how I can help. Perhaps you should take your gun to a SIG dealer to verify that the rear site is loose and then call customer service for assistance.

Nice video~ Would love to see a true side by side comparison, shooting, etc against a Glock 34. Sadly, I can't find much~ I tried the X5, but it's a heavy polymer gun, comparing it to the G34. Would love to see a true accuracy test between the 2. Good stuff, thanks~

chgofirefighter - the X-Five is designed for the purpose of competition. It’s supposed to be heavy - to help mitigate recoil.
