"Hello." 😊 You are right. MANY of us are going through some very difficult times. This knowledge, I hope, will make some people not feel so alone in it. Also, when we smile at others, even though we don't feel that smile within us, it is to protect others (in a way) from bringing others into our problems. In this way we are looking out for others, we are giving you care & love. Each time you see a smile like that, know that you are being cared for. Even just a bit of a smile can help others going through things too.
Nice to see you reacting to one of my favorite songs of theirs. I love it's haunting melody and the musical interlude in the middle with the guitars and the recorder.
Another great Patrick Simmons song. This one is from their second album of the five before Michael McDonald joined the group. The Doobies had rockers and songs like this with a mellower vibe, what you call your river music Jay. Patrick also wrote Black Water and South City Midnight Lady which you have already heard. Check out I Cheat The Hangman next.
I just about wore this album out, back in the Seventies, along with The Captain and Me. This song is so good! I hope you're taking some of my advice to heart, about trying to be in the present moment as much as possible. I know it's hard, especially during trying times, because people think about events that took place in the past and all the things that might happen in the future, and the present moment is difficult to stay in. The mind wanders to the past and the future, and we dwell on them, causing pain and fear and many other negative emotions. The ego takes over, because our true self, which lives in the Now, doing the things to either correct the mistakes of the past or prepare for the future, is absent, as the ego takes over and pushes us to live in the past, which is gone, or the future, which has not yet arrived. Nothing gets done, dwelling on the past or being anxious about the future. Plans are made in the now, not yesterday, not tomorrow. Keep spinning those tunes, my man.
And my winning streak continues!!! Doobies without Michael *spits* McDonald anywhere near the group, and Patrick Simmons, my man, instead . Yesssssssss!!!! "Closer Every Day", "South City Midnight Lady", "Clear as the Driven Snow", "Daughters of the Sea" and (only when you think you're ready) "I Cheat the Hangman". And, to show that I don't hate Tom Johnston, "Another Park, Another Sunday" would be cool, too. BTW, that's Patrick on the recorder, as well. Great analysis, Jay! Thanks so much!
This must be the least "Dobbie Bros" sounding Dobbie Bros song ever. It's reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkle. So smooth & pretty. The harmonies are superb. I really enjoyed this reaction. My favorite Doobies song ever is Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While). Done that one yet? Be blessed ❤
Michael McDonald did two things for the Doobies: He made them far more commercially successful. He made them predictable. Thus, I love all their early work. But, those are just my thoughts.
So, you need to work out if it's still worth watching for you, or you can take yourself over to her channel and watch her content. No need for comments like this, and you've made it multiple times. We get it....
That is Burton Cummings, lead vocals done in 1972. When Michael McDonald took over as the lead singer, it was the end of the Doobie Brothers, he ruined that band !
This guy is absolutely hemorrhaging a loss in viewership due to the bust-up of his marriage along with his overall tacky taste in music which is all the more revealed without the buffer that Amber had provided in not exposing his basic jock-head , homophobic ignorance.
The only reason you are here is to be a troll and stir things up. In case you somehow missed it, which I highly doubt, she can be found at www.youtube.com/@AmberReacts24 So, why don't you behave like a civil person and head on over there?
Always enjoy their vibe.

Pat was singing and playing that wonderful "picking" style guitar.
Older Doobie Brothers, are the best in my personal opinion ❤
Agree
Absolutely right
Definitely!
Agree 💯
I know there are those that appreciated the addition of Michael McDonald. I am not one of those people 😏
After a difficult day, this is just what I needed. Thank you!
Need to do Another Park, Another Sunday. It is one of there best!
Nice to see you reacting to one of my favorite songs of theirs. I love it's haunting melody and the musical interlude in the middle with the guitars and the recorder.
Another great song from them - South City Midnight Lady
I think they did that song.
That is definitely one of my faves by DB💯
Always that Doobie Bros' sound...that blend of voices...perfect.
Love the early Doobs. This is pre-Michael.
Another Patrick Simmons-penned tune I highly recommend is "I Cheat The Hangman."

Hey my Brother, hang in there. Praying for you.
My favourites are China Groove, and Black Water.
Great reaction to a gorgeous song!
I just dig this song.
Totally dig older Doobie Bros.
Beautiful song! I remember this song!!! Good reaction
Hang in there Bro.
Without You is a rocker that show cases their great guitar work and thundering drums from their two drummer lineup!!
they gave a kick ass concert 👍🏻

Day 10 of requesting Labi Siffre - "I Got The ... ". See how many rap samples you can find. You won't be disappointed!
Clear as The Driven Snow is an early Doobies song you should check out
The Tom Johnston early years were so amazing.
Agree 💯
Great acoustic guitar work.
Have you reacted to their song, Another Park, Another Sunday?
Great reaction to this great song
They were my very first concert in Cincinnati circa 1975.
Classic. One of the many albums I used to "borrow" from my big brother. ✌️❤️
This doesn’t even sound like the doobies I know, never heard this but it’s beautiful. 🤘🏼
Seems like the Doobie Bros almost always had old furniture, antiques etc. in a lot of their album cover art like you see in this one here.
The photo was actually taken at a former brothel on Toulouse Street.
@@DonnaKubiskithat is really what this song is about.
@jennyvithoulkas6865 You're not telling me anything I didn't know. By Jay's analysis of the lyrics, I don't think he figured that out.
Such a great song!
The irony 🙏🏾 . Yes, many ppl are going through it but smile to get through the day. One day at a time.
Maybe I'm old and stuck in my ways but I just don't hear music like this anymore. Thank you, J, for reacting to this one. ❤
And my winning streak continues!!! Doobies without Michael *spits* McDonald anywhere near the group, and Patrick Simmons, my man, instead . Yesssssssss!!!!

BTW, that's Patrick on the recorder, as well.
Great analysis, Jay! Thanks so much!
Good one Jordan
Good song good reaction
I just might pass this way again!
Not to be confused with Seals & Crofts' We May Never Pass This Way Again. 😉
Another great one by the Doobie Brothers. How about some Jeff Healey- As time Goes Passing By, amazing song
Great suggestion! 😃
Jeff Healy. First heard him in Patrick Swayze movie. Road House? Anyway I liked Jeff so much that I had find his music. He's great.
I personally like the pre Michael McDonald era the best. They turned from rock to more of a jazz vibe.
Never heard this but loved it.
First time hearing this song. It has a different sound for them, to me. Have a good day Jordan.🌞
Evening Jay, that next Slade reaction has to be soon. Cum on feel the Noize or mama we’er all crazee now please
Michael McDonald did two things for the Doobies:
He made them far more commercially successful.
He made them predictable.
Thus, I love all their early work. But, those are just my thoughts.
It's not like he invaded their band. He was invited to collaborate and did quite successfully.
@ By the time the collaboration was finished, they felt like a back up band for a headliner. Once again, just my opinion. To each his own.
It keeps you running is a great song! Michael McDonald sings the lead.
You should check out the song Drops of Jupiter by Train. You will love the violins in that song.
Excellent suggestion, fabulous song! Check it out J!!
Nice deep cut
Sounds like CSNY
Jay, best all Female Hair Band Ever....do Aldious Dominator live Radiant A at O East..... Jay you'll love this song.
Do Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn.... Jay your gonna love this band....most amazing guitarists ever.
Can you please react to the Bee Gees Number 1 hit
You Win Again
Please 😊❤
Jay you want funky.. do Gacharic Spin Mindset live
😍
new band to check out. please do a band called fire tiger. check out their song called energy. they will give you a 80's vibe.
Good Doobie song. ❤ And you are doing great. ☺🙏
I.
I rolled ROLL.A.D for the d 00 b I e a
Mcdonald came latter
Dude….you don’t pause this one.
Hate the pauses/interruptions. Would much rather have it played all the way through and then make comments. Don't pause ANY of them, please!!
@@rosek2967 he has to put a pause or 2 in there to avoid copyright claims (and to make sure he gets paid)
@@rosek2967 I do see some other channels that let the song play through before reacting.
Often they have to pause them so they don’t get blocked for copyright reasons.
They are such good group
So not the same without Amber

????
On this song Patrick Simmons is lead vocals and finger picking guitar🎸 ☮🖤🤘
I'm sorry, that was Tom Johnston not Burton Cummings
This guy is absolutely hemorrhaging a loss in viewership due to the bust-up of his marriage along with his overall tacky taste in music which is all the more revealed without the buffer that Amber had provided in not exposing his basic jock-head , homophobic ignorance.
And you are a complete jerk.
So you're here watching videos that you don't even enjoy, but Jay's the ignorant one....🤔
I guess one thing that remains the same here is idiotic comments…
