I'm 49. I got a Saturn when it launched early because 1995 was all about videogames (rather than having money for food or rent). I was always in awe at the arcade graphics but even though the Saturn version is viewed as a disappointment I loved it! I did the Endurance races a bunch of times. Love these tunes!
the best music of any console from the 90s!!! If only N64 was compact disc and not compressed music... woulda been miles ahead of the rest but thankfully Saturn had TONS of games with insane soundtracks.
I prefer the Model 2 arcade chiptune version; imo this CD Audio version is much worse and they should have just let the original soundtrack run in hardware on the Saturn's sound chip. th-cam.com/video/FWcJufiBqoU/w-d-xo.html

N64 is limited by the cartridge medium, but I understand the reasons behind keeping the format. Much, much faster load times compared to the PS1 or Saturn, and also more money for Nintendo. I believe some N64 games would have not been possible to make as is without the cartridge format. Still, a few N64 games have a stellar quality soundtrack, like Fzero X. The first time I heard the soundtrack I thought it was coming from a Gamecube because of the unusual very high quality samples the game uses.
@@benjib2691 Youre 100% right, thats the thing, some of the N64 games have such great music, they've become a part of my life. F-Zero X definitely is off the charts. Goldeneye, is top 10 best soundtracks ever but. Perfect Dark is the one, it's literally so good I would get it on vinyl and play it at parties and shit. The PD music was a big part of my life, my highs and lows, my addiction, my recover, I dont think my life would be the same without it, I mean it's right up there with some of my favorite actual artists albums.
