I ordered the yarnable that they just opened up. I finallly gave in. Gosh between you and knitty natty I have so many new yarn people I want to order from. I can't wait to test out the cozy memories blanket
🎉I found you a few weeks ago, started your podcasts (somewhere) in the middle of your impressive playlist, and I just got caught up today!! I feel like I’ve spent the last few weeks just hanging out with you playing with yarn!! 🎉
I was in Yarnable for a while and I really enjoyed it but now I have too much yarn that I haven't worked with. So, in 2024 I'm really going to be working on the yarn I have. I so understand how you feel about your son wanting some of your socks. I'm lucky that one of my daughters and my grand-daughter like my socks but after Christmas this year I ended up with even more family members who wanted some. I am blown away and beyond happy.
That's what I've been doing with my potholders. I just crochet till thr seaming sections touch. Was crocheting up a storm of these after you showed them in Vlogmas. Gave some away ans only have a few left for me. Took the scraps and made "coaster" small ones. Lol Good stash buster to get rid of my cotton yarn for end of year.😅
Hi Kay, You and Knitty Natty have really inspired me to start knitting socks this year! I've been working on a re-acclimation practice sock for the last week and finally reached a point where I felt comfortable enough to start the first sock of my second pair of socks EVER. I found your "Austin" and "Wyatt" sock patterns on Ravelry and have decided to try "Austin" first. I found a skein of Lion Brand Sock Ease (which is now discontinued on their site 😓) in the color "Marshmallow" in my stash. It's a 100g/437yd skein so perfect for the pattern. I'm also using some Red Heart, Heart & Sole in the color "Toasted Almond" for Cuffs, Heels and Toes. I think this yarn may be discontinued too. I had a full 50g skein plus some leftovers of another skein too. So, I will be calling this pair of socks my "Toasted Marshmallow Austin's" in my project journal. I've learned so much from your sock tutorials, and finally feel confident enough to jump into the sock knitting waters! Thank you so much, Kay, for sharing your knowledge and also for giving me a couple of wonderful (and free) patterns to sink my teeth into. I really appreciate you so very much. 💜✌️🧶
Your pot holders look really good but as I don't crochet I wonder if there is a similar pattern for a knitted one? I am glad that you read just for pleasure. So ma y times people read so that they can discuss the books in depth or because peer pressure is used to influence the choice. 🇬🇧
Someone wrote a knitting pattern for those pot holders for those that don’t crochet, I believe there’s a link on the crochet pattern for it. We got 6” of Snow on Tuesday, our airport reported 13 “. Did none of that snow storm hit you, I’m west of you in IA. Another storm is on the way tomorrow and Saturday into Sunday. Maybe you’ll get snow yet!
It's so nice that Wyatt is wanting you to knit up socks for him, bonus him and dad wear the same size. I get so inspired to knit on my cozy memories blanket when I see the progress you've made, Kay. Have a wonderful weekend friends!
I know you've mentioned it in other videos too, but it's such a shame about Signiture needle arts going out of business. I'm glad i got at least a couple of their needles, i got a 7 inch and 10 inch for fingering weight yarn, might have one other size as well i forget. But does anyone have any recommendations for nice straight needles that are similar to the signature stilleto needles? in case in the future i want/need other sizes and can no longer get theirs.
Love all your makes. I’ve read all of Freida’s. Have her next one coming out on feb 6th preordered. I just finished one by AJ Carter called the sister in law which was really good. I will definitely read more of his. Mary Kubica has good books too. I’ve read a lot of Daniel Hurst also. His are fast easy reads.
This was my first month of Yarnable and I am obsessed with this yarn. So pretty. I also gave the sweets to my husband. I just don't love pecans. We are about to get clobbered with snow (forecast for just over a foot between Friday morning and Saturday night for West Michigan).
Good morning, just to say the new UGG boot see-through is great with all the beautiful knitted socks, when you’re in public people stop and asked you where you got them from😂
I love the dishcloths and potholders. The socks are great. I love Wyatt’s socks. The Yarnable yarn is very pretty. And the stitch counters great. The Jellyroll blanket is awesome. The Cozy memory is great too
Love all the socks and January Yarnable is so pretty! A few days ago I ordered two sizes of straight needles from Signature Arts. There's not a whole lot left available but they still have some!
I’m new-ish. Your vanilla socks on 9” circulars video is constantly on my recently watched but I hadn’t subscribed till today. TOTAL tangent, that turquoise ring is gorgeous.
I always love seeing your WIPs and FOs. I don't blame you one bit for wanting to cast on the Yarnables yarn, it's gorgeous! So cool that Wyatt is back into sock mode too. Love your scrappy socks. I think I'll be knitting quite a few pairs of those this year cause I have LOTS of leftovers that need a home. I do need to get another size 0 9" circular needle so I can work both in tandem. I'm doing that with the ones I'm knitting now on DPNs and it just seems to go so much faster for me. I chuckled when you mentioned keeping track of what you read on Goodreads. I do too-and just rate the books with stars. I just don't want to go back to writing "book reports" again-been there, done that, don't miss it one bit!
Your scrappy socks are simply magnificent! I just love them. I am definitely going to make some. Lots of weaving in but I can do it! The more I knit, the more I get addicted. I never leave the house without a WIP and my Kindle...just in case.
Loved you projects!! Verity was sooooo good. I’m not one to remember books I’ve read because I listen and read so many. But that one I remember. Excellent.
Thanks to you and help from an elderly lady in my community I am a sock knitter😊😊😊Thank you Kay!I am wondering,do you always use sock blockers? Can you recommend some to purchase?I am in Canada,I have looked on Amazon and noticed there are wooden ones and metal ones.Your recommendations would be appreciated.
Yay for sock knitting! ♥️ I don’t ever block my socks and only use the blockers for photos or showing on the podcast. I do have the ones I use linked on my amazon storefront which is linked in the description box.
Hi I love your videos ! I have learnt soo much thank you. Would you consider do a tutorial for the pot holder I am a new crocheter and would love to learn now to make them or do you know of a Tutorial ? Thank you
I watched all your scrappy Sunday vlogs again this week. I always found them very nice and inspiring and I miss them a bit ;) is it still possible that it will come back or do you no longer have time for it? I am now rewatching all your old vlogs from the 1st to now and knitting in the meantime, very nice to look back and see how we have grown over all these years
Hello from my new home in Swansea Illinois, now comes the hard part of unpacking and putting everything away. The caramels are great, not a lot of pecan’s.
Eric tried them tonight and loved them! I had a cookie so I didn’t try one yet but I think he has me convinced to give them a try. I hope your unpacking goes well! ♥️
A pleasure as always Kay❤ Short story: Love your wonderful wips and finishes. Learned how on ww socks and have only completed three in fingerings weight. Love nylon in my socks, helps longevity. As I continue to gifting worsted with socks, still yearn to start more fingering wt. But, I just need to do it...for There's time to find...just want to do it!! Thanks for your wonderful progress ❤😊
Glad I am not the only one who has no interest in reviewing or having an in-depth discussion on the books I read. I read them, I enjoy them, then I move on 😅
Thanks for another great catch-up. Hey, do the books you like have f-bombs or other frequent swearing? Drives me nuts, so I always like to ask, especially if someone really loves them (because I want to read a good recommendation, too!).

Ohh that’s a great idea for coasters!
I’ve also been on a Freida McFadden kick 😂 I’m loving her style, it’s easy reading but also so addicting, hard to put down❤
Hi Kay,

Hi Kay, loving the socks and pot holders. Love the yarnable yarn for this month. Have a wonderful weekend ❤❤❤
I love Freida McFadden! I just finished 'Do Not Disturb', so good!
That one is really good!
I love how you knit socks for your son. My son takes every pair I knit and I love to see them on his feet. ❤
It's so nice that Wyatt is wanting you to knit up socks for him, bonus him and dad wear the same size. I get so inspired to knit on my cozy memories blanket when I see the progress you've made, Kay. Have a wonderful weekend friends!
I love that you use every last bit of your scraps in your blankets!
i'm doing a cozy memory blanket with scarps but may add the scrappy socks after my squares are done. I'm just using all your ideas :)
Lovely socks and great to catch up with you.👍🧦🧶😊

Enjoyed your " catch up" still loving Bevs potholder pattern and Tulip crochet hooks.

Best potholders ever!
Definitely need to make some of those pot holders. The yarnable color is so pretty!
I love that you use every scrap of yarn or give it away! Life goals! I’m really happy that Wyatt is enjoying your socks again!
Love the Bengal’s shirt! Also, always enjoy watching.
Love all of your ideas! Thanks for your inspiration!
I went through the Freida McFadden books the same way too… one after another!
They are so good!
I wonder…….. how much fun would it be to knit a pair of socks out of a magic ball. Hmmmmm.
Love all the socks and January Yarnable is so pretty!
A few days ago I ordered two sizes of straight needles from Signature Arts. There's not a whole lot left available but they still have some!
I love this month’s yarnable so much. ❤ so glad I got it 😊
I need to go through my scraps too… looking at your scrappy socks have inspired me!
I had to start making the doubled over hat pads you are making. I just love them!😊
I just love your scrappy blankets!!
Great podcast thank you ☕️🧶😊 you should try the double think pot holder by Daniella Taylor ,it looks your crochet one but in knit
I’m new-ish. Your vanilla socks on 9” circulars video is constantly on my recently watched but I hadn’t subscribed till today. TOTAL tangent, that turquoise ring is gorgeous.
Thank you! My husband bought that for me in Texas. ♥️

Exactly! Do not miss that at all! Just want to enjoy reading a book! 😂
Love the yarnable colour this month and also the yarn you are using for Wyatt’s new socks. Always lovely to see what you are working on!
I’ve read all of her books. 😅 Addicting! And free on Kindle unlimited.
Your scrappy socks are simply magnificent! I just love them. I am definitely going to make some. Lots of weaving in but I can do it! The more I knit, the more I get addicted. I never leave the house without a WIP and my Kindle...just in case.

I make those same potholders....have made them for about 25 years now..love them
I have started to read Ruth Ware after hearing you talk about them. They are very good and hold my interest thru the whole book.
I just made the Saven sweater for my son too! I used the Paton 100% Wool in green for mine. I thought it was a well written pattern.
Oh good! I’m so glad to hear that!
Be sure and use a magnet crossstitch board to help you know what row you're on, at least till you get the hang of the repeats in the pattern.
Thank you for the tip! I’ll make sure that I do that.
A fun catch up with you Kay! Your makes are lovely as always! It's always fun to see what you have on your needles or hooks! ☺🧦

Found Blueberry Fields on Etsy!
I saw her shop but it says it’s closed and to contact her via email or IG. So I linked her IG below the video.
I received my very first Yarnable last week. Love, love, love the January colour and I can’t wait to get the next box.
Friday Night Lights is one of our favorite shows too!

Hi I love your videos ! I have learnt soo much thank you. Would you consider do a tutorial for the pot holder I am a new crocheter and would love to learn now to make them or do you know of a Tutorial ? Thank you
Sorry I don’t have any plans for any tutorials right now.
Might have started a dk weight cosy memories blanket , 2 squares in of socks done this year! You are right so squishy and soft.
I am so the same reader as you! Don't ask me what was the storyline of my last book, I can't remember, but I enjoyed it a lot!
I’m glad I’m not the only one! 😂
I watched all your scrappy Sunday vlogs again this week. I don’t have any plans to do separate scrappy Sunday videos. I’m including any projects I work on in these regular episodes. 🧶
I wish it wasn’t so expensive to order from Canada. With the exchange and shipping, it’s way over the top. 😢

Haven't caked up my Yarnable yet, but love it. The carmels were so darn good!
I loved my Yarnable and I devoured those caramels! Soooo yummy ❤
Great episode, Kay!!
I love all of the new socks Kay!
Kay girl friend let me tell those caramels were soooooo delicious 😋 ❤❤ Eric is going to enjoy them 🥰🧦♥️❤️
I love that Wyatt is back on wanting hand knit socks. I’m betting you’ll be making some for his friends in no time.
I would love that!!!!
I was able to subscribe to Yarnable!!! Thank you for letting us know it’s open and for the code. Love your podcast! 😀🧶😀
YAY!!! So happy you were able to get signed up! 🧶🧶

The magic knot ball interesting. How does it work?
I have a tutorial under my tutorial playlist for magic knot balls 🧶
Glad I am not the only one who has no interest in reviewing or having an in-depth discussion on the books I read. I read them, I enjoy them, then I move on 😅
Yep!! 😂
Have you read the Housemaid? It’s soooo good!
Not yet! 📚
Where do you get the Queensland coastal yarn?
I ordered it from a few places but can’t remember the websites. If you Google it, it will pull up any websites that have it.
Hello. Do you like the Sugar n Cream cotton for the potholders? What are the dimensions of those? Thank you for the inspiration.
Yep I like it for the potholders and dishcloths. Sorry I haven’t measured them. 🧶
lovely video as always x
Looking for sock blocker recommendations
Hi Kay!
Good to see you again do you have a video on how to make the jelly roll blanket
Nope, no plans for tutorials on that as it’s not my pattern.
Love klyle chandler , bloodlines
You've probably answered this before but do you like one heel technique more than the others?
I always do heel flap and gusset.
That mannequin has something to show off apparently! It's the season for all the blankets.
Considering I keep forgetting to put some clothes on her… she needs to behave herself 🤣😂
@@CrazySockLady 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for another great catch-up.
Hey, do the books you like have f-bombs or other frequent swearing? Drives me nuts, so I always like to ask, especially if someone really loves them (because I want to read a good recommendation, too!).
Honestly I’m not really sure. Which sounds silly I guess but it’s not something I pay attention to that much I guess in books. 🙃
If you don't mind can you tell me how many stitches did you chain for the potholder
I chained 35. I did go over that in the podcast and it’s also on my Ravelry project page for them. 🧶♥️
Did you like the freckled whimsy Christmasy club yarn this month??? 💜💜💜
Yep, it’s pretty.
Hi Kay! Question... How much does it take (approximately) to knit one pair of socks? Size medium for your vanilla sock pattern. (For my first pair of knitted socks, I used Patons Kroy sock yarn that I had in my stash for years) But I want pretty yarn like you use🤭 I'm asking because I'm noticing that each full skein is 100 grams & mini's are 10 to 50 grams. I am on a fixed income and would like to purchase fingering sock yarn, which is quite expensive, but I want to make sure I get enough. I apologize if that is a silly question but I need to know. Thanks for your videos I'm enjoying them very much 😊
It really depends on the size foot you’re knitting for and the length of leg you want. I would suggest 100 grams for your first pair and then weigh and see approx how much yarn you use.
Thank you @@CrazySockLady
Hi I usually get 2 pairs out of each 100 gram with a mini. We are Both a medium with his about 1/2 inch longer
Try watching Bloodlines.
We have watched it before. ☺️
