Wow, this match was the showdown of shida's prowess. She was solid the whole match. Amazing defence, there are fewer errors than she has ever done before, great stamina, and attacks. She even showed creativity, which was usually matsuyama's forte. Matsuyama is also still amazing. Cretivity was a bit under her usual standard and a bit error prone in the second match. Nevertheless, both did a great job and cheering for you!!! Matsushida!!
The winning difference in this match was Shida's attack. She's formidable in defense but this time she also had a varied attack rather than just straight smashes.
Agreed. Second game was falling flat because Shida fell into that pattern of block, clear, smash, drop. Too predictable and it became a test of stamina. 3rd game flew because she followed up at net, and varied with cross drops and shuttle placement but still I think made a ton of errors. She is all around solid at backcourt but could be way more dangerous and contend against Chen/Jia if she worked on her net game and being more aggressive there to attack. She had quite a few chances to kill the shuttle and win the point but often could not convert these to points.
such a wonderful showcase from shida and matsuyama. Shida has played exceptionally well here
Shida and Matsuyama are both beautiful and just so cuuuute! They are well deserved!!:)
Great match. The stated rankings of 2 vs 6 is rather misleading as, in reality, this is 2 vs 3, which explains why this contest was so close between these four players. It was also a match between two pairs with brilliant defenses hence why the rallies are so long. I actually think it is a pity that the Japanese pair are not more attacking in their play. I have watched matches with them going absolute beast mode and they are a formidable attacking pair capable of putting anyone to the sword.
Great match
nami birdie placements are so good, wow
this is one of the best matches i have ever seen between them
Nice.. Finally... After 8 losing and then won

how can a girl be that polite at 26:09, simply love her so much
One of Shida's best performances I've ever seen. Maybe her being sick at 34:05 helped her played better.
amazing team japan❤
so good japanese team
i love you Shida :-)

What kind of beverage does Shida drink in 33:05?
I'm guessing some sort of performance gel.
