My friend and I walked down separate forks on a muddy logging road in central Louisiana about an hour before dark to hunt doves that would drink from the puddles before roosting. We had gone mudding on this road many times but had never walked down it or hunted here. We were both growled at after walking about 150 yards by what sounded (to me) like a giant monster. The closest thing I can compare it to is an African Lion amplified through a huge speaker system. I felt the growl in my chest. It sounded like it was very close but there were small pines and bushes blocking the view of whatever it was. It scared me bad enough to immediately fire my 12g Browning at the sound and run as fast as I could back to the truck where my friend was already waiting with the doors locked. This happened around 1979. As you know we outdoorsy types know what wildlife lives in our region but I have no idea what sort of creature this could have been. I`ve spent many nights camping alone and have even seen three of the large black cats they say don`t exist. I was raised on a farm and I`ve fished, hunted, and even used to run 175 fur traps on creeks, and have commercial fished too, so I`m an expert in the outdoors. My sister saw a Bigfoot here with other witnesses and many others have seen them here in LaSalle parish and below us in Rapides parish, and there are other hotspots like DeSoto and Sabine parishes and others along the Sabine River & Toledo Bend Lake. One of my cat sightings was in DeSoto Parish on the river. It was only about 15 feet away and was as big as me...at least 180 pounds...much larger than a hound dog from the side view anyway. Locals told me they were there when I moved there to fish. The local high school football team is named the Stanley Panthers. There was a huge bounty on these cats in the days when supply wagons were busy between Houston and Shreveport because they were attacking people and horses so this eventually put the fear of humans in the survivors. Accounts of this have mysteriously vanished from the interwebs...along with most of the region`s Bigfoot reports, such as the one hit by a car in Trout in LaSalle parish. The police have the incident on file though. The driver`s car was damaged and he told police he`d hit a man in a monkey suit.
Jeremi you have the perfect sounding voice for big foot 👣stories and searches. Hope to see more of these. Very interesting and fun to watch. Keep Squatchen' !
I had a big face to face encounter once so i experienced it and still have trouble believing it. Lol. Its way way bigger than they say it is in person. Its at least 10-11 feet tall and arms bigger round than my body. Im 6'2 256 lbs. when its mad it splinters giant trees like twigs. It did that right in front of me and the guy with me. It was in no way aggressive to us though. It fell and was mad. Its very territorial. It made Zero Sound except for its physical movements. Its heart beat was very loud. It stood about 5 feet from us and we froze then ran as hard as we could. It seemed surprised like what are you?
Great story!! I've yet to have an encounter but I've heard some strange calls that were not normal in the woods. Coon hunted till I was 30. Thank you for watching and sharing your encounter 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
