    A bit late to the party, but wanted to thank you Esther for these wonderful videos! How lovely of you to say we should be proud to reach the end of Part Four - I have and I am, but could never have got there without you❤. Beautifully explained and although I am fairly new to crochet, am inspired to carry on. I need to give my 69 year old hands a rest now though, a bit sore to say the least. Thank you again dear lady. Jane xx

    You hope you’re videos are useful?!? You CLEARLY have no idea how absolutely AMAZING of a teacher you are! I for one could never do this without your exquisite teaching. I’ve only been crocheting off and on for around a year now, and have been teaching myself. I wasn’t sure I could make this blanket because of how inexperienced I am, but I watched about 10 minutes of the first video, and KNEW I could because of your teaching. So THANK YOU, for all the hours of time you went through to make these for us FOR FREE! You’re amazing 💗

    My biggest challenge with these types of patterns is where I am starting each round, especially when you are stitching to different rounds. I know I can always turn on your video and you will set me straight. Thanks.

    I’ve made two Sophie’s Universe and it’s so captivating and I can’t stop crocheting and create new colors combinations, thanks for your instructions and I’m sure Dedri Uys will appreciate your efforts to promote her arts.

    I am making this afghan using the "sophie's Universe" book I purchased. She has excellent pictures and examples in this book but your instructional video make this absolutely perfect. I echo all the other comments about what a remarkable teacher you are. I taught high school for 32 years - I know good instruction when I hear it!!

    It's 2021 and since last year with the pandemic I've been crocheting blankets. Huge blankets, intricate blankets and others with lots of different stitches and texture and this one falls in those categories. I'm thinking about finishing up part 5 and framing it in some way. Then starting over and doing the full blanket. Thank you for your time in doing these tutorials cuz I'm not to good with written patterns. I have them and go by both pattern and tutorial and I am starting to learn how to read a pattern. Thank you so much for such a detailed explanation of how and where stitches should go or end up. So far every round has been a piece of cake due to you. 💗 thank you so much. 💗💗

I have bought Deirdre’s book, but I would like to be able to support you. Do you have any blanket patterns of your own that you would like to share? I know I would not have purchased this book at “look at what I made”if the pattern was not so well supported.

    Esther, I seem to be 6 stitches short for round 26 where it starts to square up via the back post stitches. A new day gave me the answer: I skipped a round! That’s a lesson in either crocheting too late or getting interrupted. Regardless, I’m happy I found my own solution & happier still that I didn’t pull out a round before careful deduction 🤓

      hiervoor moet ik echt terug in het patroon duiken, ik heb alleen de video gemaakt, het ontwerp is niet van mij. Je kunt het beste even zelf in het patroon kijken, of anders de ontwerpster vragen :)

    • @KLKarin-bu2vu
      @KLKarin-bu2vu ปีที่แล้ว

      Het patroon zegt van * naar * - dus na de 20 vasten ga je terug naar het eerste * in het patroon. Dus weer 10 halve stokjes, 9 stokjes, de hoek, enz. Op de laatste kant hoef je dan maar 10 vasten aan het eind te doen, omdat je aan het begin (dus VOOR dat eerste *) al 10 vasten had gedaan. Ik hoop dat je er nog iets aan hebt. 🙂
      Ik doe momenteel Sophie's Dream, 12 "gardens" - dus ik kan de videos 1-4 bijna playbacken, maar ik blijf ze toch handiger vinden dan alleen het patroon. 🤩

      As such you should have 4 corners :) Maybe your stitch count is not correct at the end of part 3? Then it could mean that although you follow the pattern, you still come one corner short.
      The original pattern can be found here: www.lookatwhatimade.net/crafts/yarn/crochet/sophies-universe-cal-2015/sophies-universe-cal-part-4/
      Double check with the stitches in the original :)

      You mean the Stone Washed XL? Most people use a 5mm hook for it.

    Can you tell me I am on round 26 and if I omit the last 10 BPsc’s I am going to have a big pucker hanging out the back of the round. My count is right without these stitches but even blocking is going to take care of this. Has there been a change to the pattern? I am working the pattern out of the book and I have watched the video but it does not show the end of the round. Help please and thank you.

      no, the pattern has not changed. for all concerns about the pattern you can best ask the designer.

    Hey Miss Esther. Do we go up on this round , hook size? I see you didn’t....

    • @Itsallinanutshell
      @Itsallinanutshell  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The change in hook size was only added to the pattern after the CAL was completed. Hence it's not in the video.

      +Donna Gregory in part 4 of Sophie's Universe you are squaring up your mandala, so you should have 4 corners.
