It's why even after the succesfull rarity collections we still have that shitty rarity printing system that only give us too expensive staples and meta decks ...
I completely forgot Trident Dragion is being reprinted in the tins. What a joke haha, the card is already dropping in serious value as Tenpai is not performing as well as it did in the OCG. No one is going to want that card come September.
My rose tinted glasses are completely off. I’m done hoping Konami will change, I’m done hoping things will get better and just “looking forward to the next forsmt”, I’m done giving Konami criticism. I’m done. I don’t even like this game anymore. I can’t even enjoy this with friends anymore because I can’t enjoy this game the way I want. MD, duel links, retro formats, DB, etc are not the same. PHNI pushed me out of the game, this set was the nail in the coffin.
I also think that Konami should bring support for older archetypes and not release new ones there were a lot of interesting game mechanics and Metalmorph will soon get a new support wave so I think Cloudian and Ice and even LV should get more support that is cheaper than shining sarcophagus and does not lock you into something new.
Since you used to work closely with Konami I gotta ask you 1. Has Konami ever told you or any one you know about a future ban list before it was revealed due to you being an influencer? 2. Have you or do you know of anyone who knew of cards weeks in advance, go to the secondary market to buy out certain cards? I ask cuz this has been a hot topic in the past. Thanks bro!
Konami wouldn't have the leak problem if they didn't have the utterly stupid and secretive spoiler policy they have. Fuck them for that, i welcome every spoiler and leak we get. We should know rarities, imports and tcg exclusives a month in advance.
You are right and I am glad you admit that they 1. Dont like criticism and 2. Ignore the secondary market. Both of those things remind us they are a soul-less corporation that wont even PRETEND to care about it's player base
12:37 A while ago I asked why Duel Devastator was not continued as a series (money apparantly because people would only buy one box or singles)... Rarity Collection 3 in the style of Duel Devastator would be cool have every card in the set but randomize rarities and have it around 30-40€/$ pricetag and some alt art cards and add some sleeves and field center plus a playmat (cardboard) and some dice.... and start with edison and goad structure decks.
Especially after switching to Magic many years ago, seeing the current state of YGO makes me so sad. I still check out cards and think about how cool so many decks are and can be, but none of them matter unless you have a place to play them. Fiendsmith format isn't that place.
Every set there's a couple of commons and supers that would've been beast in formats 10+ years ago. They never see play. I maintain a yugioh cube precisely because of that, every set there's cool cards that wouldn't see play otherwise.
I'm so happy you're doing the video again. You are the reason I got back into the competitive side of the game all the way back when WightPrince for skull servant decks. I really appreciate you, thank you.
I didn't understand why in this set everyone even not verified sellers, presale every card 1 week before release date ,how these people (not verified sellers) get in their hands these cards and in such big quantities?
Lots are either sponsored or promoted by Konami behind the curtain. Lots of predistribution prior to release date to see how the third market rates the cards. Especially if they can make a profit
@beanbroly what do they gain from seeing how the market rates the cards? Either way they will be officially released in a week so they can't make any changes
@john1559 they'll see which cards to promote in a later set. Often times in the yearly tins or in a special set that reuses the cards they deem worthy of reprinting, either to artificially pump and dump or to break even
The LGS near me has sneak previews where you can buy packs usually 1 week before release. You dont even need to have a business relationship with Konami to get cards pre-release.
To me it doesn't matter what the timing of reveals is. The only part of the reveals that are relevant are the screenshots that show what the rarities are. The rest is just fluff. The contents of the sets have been playtested for months by the time the TCG release comes along, and people pretty much already have a decent idea of what's going to matter in a set. There isn't much purpose watching somebody attempt to tell me what White Woods does when we already know that it's going to do nothing with Fiendsmith at full power, Baronne banned, and everybody back on Bystials to deal with Fiendsmith. It's just another sales pitch at that point.
I, and so many others, simply don't care if an unfortunate sod granted influencer powers by Konami misses his "big break" to shill more product. Let Kevin Tewart's pet dog showcase the cards for all it matters; as long as we get to see the rarities, the new cards, etc. it makes no difference. Hell, it would even be an improvement over the current batch of "influencers" as there wouldn't be any crap jokes littered throughout the promotion.
I'm not sure, YGO completely died in my state. I have to drive 2 hours to get to a locals. Other stores have reduced their stock to like one case regardless of whether its good or not because they have no faith in the product. And I can't really blame them because I only buy product out of my love for the game and to support the store. I think the issue stems far deeper than simply faulty marketing. I'm not sure if you have inside intel, but does the product actually sell at all? And who's buying it? Maybe it's just my local community. But who are they trying to market these sets to?
All opinions to konami that do not give them more dosh are irrelevant to them as for what should be done. well fortnight before all boxes open, lead up by the archetype stuff, with the physical cards in their hands, they've done this before with tombox getting fuckin max rarity labrynths to sod around with (from memory) for lists, we need, we NEED this one off "yeah late august" to be "yeah soon tm this month", the ocg swapped from about 15 days before being legally randomly dropped to, announcement of the announcement, then week prior to being released (and I think they're still not used to it).
it was a disaster. they introduced the newest most broken engine of all time until now, only printed in secrets, ugh... its all so tiresome. this game's soul is dying with each new set... And the new maxx c cards despite being nerfed versions, they'll hurt lower tier decks even further so people are forced to play tier 0 to even have FUN.
At the end of the day Konami doesn't care how things are ran long as they get their quick buck.
It's why even after the succesfull rarity collections we still have that shitty rarity printing system that only give us too expensive staples and meta decks ...
This was the set they were saying was going to win back vendors, too. What a joke.
Wholly agreed.

MZMI? 🚫
RA02? 🚫
BLTR? 🚫
OTS 25? 🚫
Tins? Apparently yes…? It’s such a weird product to put it in when they had every opportunity to do so earlier.
I'm still going to be picking it up for Edison

2. most likely no

Glad I don't buy product anymore 😅
This set is literally just "plz buy fiend smith. 🥺"
that's literally every release "plz buy "
You are right and I am glad you admit that they 1. Dont like criticism and 2. Ignore the secondary market. Both of those things remind us they are a soul-less corporation that wont even PRETEND to care about it's player base
I mean one of the most beloved characters happens to have a Corp also. He believes in the heart of the platinum card

@@NinthSettler a yugioh cube is an excellent idea! Would love to hear some bigger content creators talk about stuff like that.

My exact thoughts on the release preview disaster. Also affects the secondary market as people would secretly have more information than others.
the way they handle their products feels much like they're in a deep crisis
Secondary market is massive becuase nobody wants to open packs except for the vendors

interesting video, i feel like i dont see too many of these kinds of discussions that arent overly negative
Breaking up a "rant" video by talking up how he bought into 2 of the newer, cooler archetypes was so refreshing.
This is a pleasant surprise.
And as usual thanks to Konami shitty TCG printing most important cards cost a fuc1n6 arm .... Except Gimmick Puppet
How dare you talk common sense!! 😅
Glad your back. Good video
Gotta say, I am not a United fan, but that is a nice kit
Glad to see you back!
