@@davesmith9684 or maybe their just not good enough for nba and of course UNC is good and they should be good with both of them being like 30 years old
This makes no sense. After trashing some ACC arenas because of a lack of seating capacity, he names Cameron the best of all? I'm sorry, something other than the arena itself is informing your judgment.
NC State does technically have its own arena. The NC State women play in the old arena, Reynolds Coliseum, very small but good for the sports that use it. Same for UNC, they play in the old Carmichael Arena. Both of them would be near the middle of the list for me if they're included. You are ranking all ACC Basketball areans, these count.
The JMA Wireless Dome will be getting the new seats this summer. The seats will be folding plastic, navy color like in the rendering. The lower levels will get 20" wide seats with armrests, while the upper deck gets 18" seats without armrests. Each seat takes up more space than the old benches, because people are wider than they were 45 years ago, and they have to widen the aisles, so capacity will be reduced about 15%. Work should begin right after commencement in the middle of May, which gives them a full 3 1/2 months to get it done before football season. They really killed it with the renovations a few years ago. Real air conditioning, the new lights inside look great, the scoreboard over the field is massive, and the seats will elevate it even further.
So a glorified high school gym with hang down rims is #1......give me a break. Spare me the history and atmosphere crap. On pure architecture, it's complete crap. Also, GT being so low on this list is a joke too. McCamish looks much more like an actual arena than most on this list.
You are on point and I totally agree. Why is a high school gym #1 (Duke)? Really? My own high school gym was this size and no one said it was the sanctuary of college basketball?
NC State has the same issue as Syracuse, too big of an arena. But at least theirs doesn't have to be cut off like Syracuse's. I like NC State's arena a lot. higher than it was listed.
Dean Dome sucks…multiple reasons. Upper Level and Lower Level with one concourse for both…if you have to go to the bathroom at halftime…good luck. Also, the seats are smaller and you have less legroom than at PNC Arena.
I go with my wife and daughter to several Clemson women's games at Littlejohn a season, it is steep behind the baskets, but hey $5 for baseline is only topped by $5 courtside at Furman.
Just a heads up LittleJohn coliseum doesn’t actually look like that on the outside anymore they renovated it about 10 years ago it’s much more modern looking now
Just let you know in from NC and PNC was built for NC State not for the Hurricanes! State wanted a new arena because Reynolds and The Dorton arena both had grown outdated. They decided this in the 1980’s well before they got the Hurricanes in 1997. PNC was going to be built regardless of if the Hurricanes came to Raleigh
I usually tend to agree with your assessments on different arenas. But Ginger, I have to say you're buggin' if you think for one second that Cameron Indoor is better than Louisville's KFC Yum Center or even UNC Dean Smith Center. SMDH!!!

Louisville should have an NBA team based off of that arena but the league won’t give it to them due to its proximity with Indianapolis (home of the Indiana Pacers).
Well also the biggest reason is due to the fact that Kentucky already draws a shit ton of money from Kentucky basketball. Havin the top ncaa program and brand gives the state no need for any major league sports. It’s a weird an exclusive case.

NC State is only the biggest university in NC. So idk how PNC is too much when you admitted that a professional hockey team also plays there. Cameron Indoor at #1 is asinine. That place is a dump. Probably the worst one. There was definitely bias in these rankings.

Most of though all, from a non-nostalgia/atmosphere stand point it would easily rate last. Probably the worst ACC football stadium too.
