It's mesmerizing watching your channel. I don't know if it's the camera angles, your accent, your skill, your manerisms, your creativity, the music, your smile, or your point of view...but I can't get enough!!! Such couple goals!
Dear Kika and Juki, Thank you for taking us along your journey(s). Even when things didn't go your way, you didn't give up. You both have a great sense of humor and attitude when faced with challenges. Your finished scarf is absolutely beautiful and the sweater is a show-stopper! You are extremely talented to come up with designs like these. I look forward to the pattern!
In my part of the English speaking world the word "salty" would describe a person who's language includes lots of swear words and vulgar or crude phrases/stories. Someone you would NOT want young children to hear talking. 😂 Your new sweater is definitely GORGEOUS and thanks for sharing both Portugal, Spain AND your creative journey as you design such lovely knits! I excited for your "salty" sweater pattern to become available! 🤣
I am soooooo excited for that sweater. I love all the texture that’s in there. I’ve never done anything like that but would absolutely be on that one as soon as I can. 😊
Hello, I am portuguese but leaving in Germany. I had no idea you had family in Portugal and were going there regularly. We call to the salty places "Salinas" don't know the name in English but it's a nice name for a design. Enjoy surfing and the 🌞. I miss it very much.
That bandana, kierchief, scarf or whatever you what to call it's perfect! I love it the texture, shape, stitches, the design it is just beautiful! Can't wait for that pattern 😁 Have a great holidays! Thanks for share! I would never stand under a tree full of birds nesting! 💩🤣
I do not knit, but I'm an artist, and I do know what it takes sometimes to create something unique. You are such an inspiration, and always lift my spirit, It is always nice to watch your videos, Kika. Thank you :)
I love that you aid you weren’t a confident scarf knitter, because I feel like that’s all I do. The thing is, sweaters scare the beJesus out of me! I guess we all have our challenges, but you are such an inspiration for letting me challenge myself!
Hey girl! I just wanted to tell you how much I love your videos. They really make me happy, especially now, since I'm not feeling great and can't do much other than lay in bed. Your videos are so sweet and comforting : )
I love the final version of scarf Kika! But I love even more the salty sweater :D It's georgous and I'm definetelly going to knit it! So waiting for the pattern :)
Instead of Salty Sweater, you can call it Salinas Sweater, that is the portuguese word for the group of fields were salt is extracted from sea water by evaporation :D
Hi Kika, thanks for your videos. I came on your channel via your wedding dress video. You inspired me to crochet my own sweater, and now I am on my second knitted sweater! Your videos are so nice and cozy to watch that I often watch twice :)
I love watching your podcasts so much. They always put a smile on my face while watching. The sweet, wholesome and easy way you and Juki joke around and live life is so great. I love hearing your process and how you come up with your incredible designs. Your designs are always so incredible and I cannot wait for the release of the scarf and sweater. Thank you for always sharing of yourself on here. I hope you had a wonderful vacation!
Ohh yes another Kika video! I am always so mesmerized by them! All the light, the different angles and you as a couple with Yuki! I am sooo looking forward to your new sweater pattern. It looks beautiful! Thank you for taking us on your journeys!
Oh to knit like you-I’m happy as a clam with simple baby blankets, scarfs and hats. I love seeing your country and travels. And your husband is a doll. I also love watching Arne and Carlos in Norway. You guys would be so fun to do a joint project. Could that happen. Good bye from the US. Keep the videos coming-I love to dream!
I love that you're showing your 'many many' attempts. It's so inspiring in a very real way because let's be honest this is usually how it goes and most people (including me) would just go back to their comfort zone without trying again but you persevered. I'm learning so much from you
After all the trial and error, the scarf turned out beautiful! I have the wishbone sweater on my "to knit" list for this year, the pattern would also be so gorgeous as a shawl! Also, the sweater that is inspired by the scarf is so lovely
Really enjoyed this video. I love the white scarf you made, and I look forward to seeing the finished "salty" sweater. It already looks superb. I think the blue scarf will turn out beautiful.
Hi! I would like to suggest that you do a double pattern of that fascinating bandana design combined with a larger scale shawl size triangle. That would be a very special shawl in that same tension. You know, your creativity is almost too good to be true ! Enjoy your Honeymoon 😊❤
I really love the little scarf you did. It turned out so great! And the sweater you started will be a gorgeous one. I Hope you will make a pattern for your little scarf. To protect my neck from winter here in Canada. Thank you so much for those videos.❤
This episode had me wanting to travel to a place with sun and ocean waves! I like your small scarf because it is enough to keep your neck warm but not cover up the beautiful sweater.
Hey Kika, I really enjoy watching your videos! It’s encouraging to see your creative process and your sense of humor about the “mistakes”. I found your channel a couple months ago with your BEAUTIFUL wedding dress! What a piece of art ❤ Have you ever thought of selling your sweaters and projects on Etsy?!? Your patterns are something special and I think customers would love them!!! Another happy subscriber 😊 MadeByHand727
Kika, thank you so much for your honesty - it is so valuable to see that even the pros have their moments of ripping back projects :') you're giving me hope
I so look forward to your videos. I love the red one. Maybe if you increase and decrease only on one side to create a triangle. I like the longish start of it also. 💙💙💙💝💕
Getting to watch your process is really great. I'm sure we often see the finished product and think it just sprung from your head, write it down and there's the pattern. This gives us hope!
I was so excited this morning to see that you had posted another video. Everything you knit is so so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your work and bits of your life with us. It is so enjoyable to watch you. Diane from Montreal Quebec.
I love it. I laughed so hard when I saw your hand luggage with so much yarn in it. However, when you panned to your husband’s sewing machine, my jaw hit the ground. I love it. This put a smile to my face! 😅 (My husband has asked me to teach him how to knit as the ladies at his work are getting together to knit a square blanket for one of their team members convalescence. Everyone in the team has to knit a square. Hubby included. He keeps putting it off but he did ask me if he will learn on straight needles or circular. Bonus points for him asking that!!!!
When you showed the salty sweater, I felt in love with it 😮😮. But done with linen yarn and a different neck could be a nice summer sweater… however, the white atheist blue scarves are so so so lovely 😍😍😍
Little bit off topic: i'm so jealous, because I love the snow. I live in Hungary, there hasn't been any snow here in the recent years. You guys got so much snow in Finland! It was great to watch.
Absolutely enchanted from start to end with this video, not only did you take us somewhere beautiful but you shared the truth of your completely captivating design process and I was as mesmerized to learn from that as I was to get to see what ultimately worked. I promise that calling your burgeoning sweater "The Salty Sweater" is a legitimate and safe choice in English. Salty can mean "cheeky" or "sassy" but it carries a bit more connotation of "angry, hostile, short or terse" though not enough that you could not name your beautiful sweater this way. I like its impudence and I LOVE its look. I will be on the lookout for it no matter what you call it!
SALTY SWEATER! Yes! Name it that! I LOVE the design. One of my favorites. The Sorbet is another one of my favorites too! Oh! And the Wishbone😍 By the way, I bought your book. I have to print it out. Cannot wait. It was too expensive to buy the hard copy and get it shipped to Utah ( USA) so I bought the PDF. You are a delightful genius.
Hi Kika, such a wonderful video!!!! I love your final scarf so much. It's gorgeous and this texture will definitely make a beautiful sweater. Looking forward to the finished pattern for both the scarf and the sweater. Also, I love Spain and have been fortunate to spend time in Sevilla. Such a gorgeous city and the food, the music and people are everything. Also love your Portugal getaway and your parents house. The outdoor space is so pretty.
All that’ not working’ has led to a darling scarf and a beautiful sweater. Can’t wait to see the completed sweater and love it so much it might have to be the first sweater I ever make.
Hello from Florida! What a fun and beautiful tour of your place in Portugal. The design of your white shawl and sweater is sublime and I will definitely buy the pattern when you release it. If you are debating about calling it "Salty," maybe you would like to know that salt mine in Spanish is "Salinas." Looking forward to your next episode!😉
Love all of your videos, you are my absolute favourite podcaster! Looking really forward to this new sweater pattern! Thanks for all that you do from very snowy Canada!
Loved the designs Kika...you are truely inspiring....I think lace knitting with thinner yarn would have worked well for scarf as per what you were originally looking for...but this design is too good❤
Love watching your videos. Thanks for taking us to Prtugal this time. I think 'salt flats' was the word you were searching for. Maybe the "Salt Flat' sweater? Less open to misinterpretation 😀
It's ok to be a sweater designer who sometimes designs other things. Your heart is so clearly in sweater design! I love that you share your ups and downs and the process. I really like the blue attempt and I hope you maybe come back to it sometime. Two triangles, with or without an added neckline, and some seaming could make a poncho after all! Everything has a use! Keep creating, and following your bliss! Your videos are inspiring and a bright ray of sunshine everytime. Thankyou.
Yay another Kika video! I wanted to tell you that I've nearly finished the Sunday Brunch sweater. It's my third project ever and my first sweater! I've also been contemplating whether to join your KAL, but I'm afraid my skills aren't up to par. Do you feel it's a good project for someone like me? Hugs from the Netherlands and have a good day ♥️
Hi! Oh I'm so glad to hear you're working on the Sunday Brunch Sweater :) I've got the first Arctic Light KAL video coming up on Wednesday (1st of Februrary) where I show how to start the project, and work all the cables for the yoke. I'd recommend waiting until Wednesday and watching the video and then you can make a decision to join now or waiting until later :) I'd of course say go for it and think you can totalyy do it! Just print out the charts and maybe requires a bit of concentration in the beginning and then once you get a hang of all the cables it's very intuitive :)
@@Kutovakika thank you for your reply and confidence :) I'll wait for Wednesday's video. If I'm just too excited to get started I'll will just give it a go! I never would have thought that I could knit a sweater 3 months ago, so maybe I'll surprise myself. ☺️
I just loved this idea of your trip to Portugal. You were trying a scarf pattern idea and another and on you went until voila it just clicked. I love the final product. What does Jukei sew or design? Love the shots of Portugal
I have bought your Salty Days pattern and right now I’m working on my Stripe Hype sweater in Drops Alpaca Silk held double. I really wanted to do the Salty Days first but I’m waiting on yarn to come in to the US from Lithuania. I have a couple color choices. Cobalt electric blue, or grass green. I’m hoping that the colors won’t be too dark to see the gorgeous texture. I think it’ll be fine after seeing all of yours. 😊 ❤Love your videos and your patterns.
Loved your video. I love that you do everything with such joy. I know about the trying and unravelling so well. But I enjoy it too, I think It's the fun part. Finishing projects on the other hand - oh my. By the way, I'v spotted a wrong "turn" on your fishbone sweater. One of the cables is facing the other side.
Yey a new Kika video! After watching it I told my boyfriend we must get a house in Portugal at some point too in order to escape the Danish winters 😅 Who is taking care of the kitties back home?
I just love your videos. Thank you so much for all your "behind-the-progress" content! It's really inspiring and encouraging - it gives me the hope of someday designing my own patterns

Your bandana or scarf, is beautiful! The pattern is beauty! I also make such things, and start the way you did! The big side of the triangle goes up!
so well put, agreed!
Dear Kika and Juki, Thank you for taking us along your journey(s). Even when things didn't go your way, you didn't give up. I am soooooo excited for that sweater. I love all the texture that’s in there. I’ve never done anything like that but would absolutely be on that one as soon as I can. 😊
Me too, I'm hoping to finish it before the Arctic Light sweater knit along starts :)
I would love to have both of these patterns when you put them out on your shop!!!!

You are a mad genius! I don’t know how you come up with these things or knit so fast!
I love that scarf! I can't wait to get the pattern! Those birds look like Grackles- When I lived in Texas, there were so many of them.
