Yeah that thing is SICK! But I've decided to go get a Arma big rock 4x4😛 for my 61st Birthday in April . So far I've saved up around $100 for it. I hope Nate & Abby do a review of THAT Bad boy!
I have one it is made like a tank and very high quality! I changed tires/wheels from the EAT04 Eachine Buggy and put those tires wheels on it! Runs over everything snow mud etc.. Even makes those tires balloon! It is very very fast! It took forever for me to get it but worth the wait. Thanks for fun review 🙂
@@dcarts5616 I had to wait over a month, placed order November 13 did not get until January but it was around Christmas time and mail was very slow. I hope you will get yours sooner so try to be patient!!! I wanted mine BAD I checked mailbox almost everyday lol!!!! :)
@@aarontaylor2906 crazy but I got mine yesterday! It arrived pretty well setup if I’m being honest. I do think I’ll need to adjust the tires a bit, already wearing unevenly after only 1 battery. But suspension was not stiff, not too squishy. We’ll see how it goes.
The more I see videos of this, the more I think I need to add one to my WLtoys arsenal. They just seem super durable. I have a two brushless converted 144001s (one for dirt track racing and one for speed runs) and a 124019 that is currently 90% of the way brushless. I would keep a 124018 stock and just basg it and let my dog chase it around 🐕 . Flimsy body shells don't last when he catches them, but that cage looks like it would survive a chomp.

I’ve have flown RC for years but was thinking about jumping into ground vehicles. I am really wanting to get the Big Rock, but not sure if it will be a mistake for a beginner. I still have my 12428. Your videos on that vehicle ultimately made my mind up on that. Still love it and bash it to no end. I can’t believe how that thing has held up. I also have Redcat gen 7. Well I relied on your review and you guys were spot on. Most if not all of my RC vehicles are name brand Traxxas and on and on including gas as well as electric. I really didn't expect too much buying this truck well I've got to tell you I was very pleasantly surprised I have bashed the heck out of it and it has been extremely resilient I haven't broke anything yet I can't say that about some of the name brand stuff I have purchased. Thank you for your honest and very accurate description. I can truthfully say the truck is worth the money and probably another 50 to 75 dollars.
Absolutely love this comment. Thanks for the follow up, and sincerely hope you enjoy that RC! Maybe buy a second one while they are in stock, or pick up that purple buggy 😉👍😎⚓

Clear body would be cool. Hope there's one available. I do like the paint scheme stock but would like to paint my own. Can't beat the price at only $120 for this rig. WLToys has really done well in such short time.
I got the 124018 and it's awesome. Even better now I have the larger 12428 wheels/tires on it. Soon to be hooked up to my dumborc with giro and a 1060 ESC, with a new 3 wire steering servo 😎👍
I've got the 124019 and I glued a piece of Styrofoam along the side. I've never had my battery fallout. I did it originally to protect the battery from the screw head in the tray.
I’ve had mine for a 10 days now and been loving it. It’s actually my first rc car sense I was a kid over 20 years ago. I feel Fortunate I picked this rc car. Thanks to videos like these I’m always about good value for the money.

I just received the WLToys 124016 v2 today. Looks a lot like that desert buggy but it's brushless. I recently grabbed a Flywheeltoys ramp for the Axial SMT10. It works great with my other, smaller RCs, very much including this speedy desert buggy. Not so much the Grave Digger. It's a bit too small to accommodate 1/10 monster trucks very well. But that 124016 v2 is amazing. Stupid fast, gets major air, can take a beating. And did I mention it is fast? I debated the Indy car-looking one (124017), but went with the buggy because I mostly run in grass and dirt, not macadam or pavement. And also because of the canopy. That is as cool as the other side of the pillow, as y'all noted with this one.

I just remembered you said something about velcro for the battery on the purple buggy. i have one coming from banggood and will probably get one of this one too.
I have this 124018 and 144001. I put proline trenchers for 1/16 e- revo on this one the 124018 and some more upgrades went brushless 2845 3800kv motor and hobbywing 45A esc longer battery run time and its my go too rc love it.
Great video! Not really into the purple one, it’s not that it’s purple, but that is too flat for my taste for a ground vehicle. 12428 is much better looking than the purple one. Great video.!
Looks like a great beastie! You should also mention that it has a metal chassis! That will make it more durable than just about anything else out there. I also notice that it has independent suspension, unlike the 12428, which has a solid rear axel. Interesting...
Fastest buggy I ever bought.... I mean it went fast as hell for two batteries on two separate runs then the motor cought fire and melted the esc. I pulled the battery that was melting on one side before things got crazy.
I have a couple of these.. 1. Has tires an rims from wl toy 12343 the front bumper w/lights from 12343 an a goldbat 2s 6200 80c battery have gotten it to 66mph before air gets to it..have a 3900kv an 160esc I just got..only thing I would do is equally cut a piece of a frinking straw an put on each shock to maximize that an fill with heavier oil an I guarantee you your jaw will drop..47mph thru deep grass
Love watching you guys having so much fun. Great video. Yep I will add one or two to my collection. Thanks for sharing. Oh, take it to a skate park. John

You could do a controllable jump test for them to see which is better at jumping and controlling after the jump without flipping and which one lands better not necessarily which jumps farther tho if that makes sense
If you plan to upgrade parts of beat it up, I'd go with the purple one. I have both and the body on this one is held on with lots of screws, so if you can't do it by opening the hatch, you'll have to mess with like 20 screws.
This is an awesome sand buggy. It's just a shame that it does not come with the same wheels as the 12428. I would order the wheels along with this buggy for a better sand dune buggy. Thank for showing this nice RC! ;)
While we own a few Traxxas vehicles for the sake of self education, we do not like to support them financially or morally. Troy is just about spot on. They sent a newbie lawyer after us for nothing. A mistake on their part. Traxxas has a lot to learn before they will ever see more of our money.
@@TheRcSaylors wow that is a bummer. I have had traxxas cars in the past and have enjoyed that but i will think twice next time and maybe go with horizon hobby. Why the lower?

I’m waiting for the 1/10 version, but I like this 👍🏻
Love the spot and the snow bank slo-mos!
Front suspension looks a little different too it also looks like it has a higher ground clearance.
I hit the like before I even watch any of the rc saylor vids because I know they're always gonna be on point!!!!!👍my collection is growing thanks to nate and abbey lol ✌ my day is always better seeing a review from them and to go out and freeze their nads off to show us content is awesome of them!!!! Well nates nads lol ✌
I love how it didn't jump the snow it just blew through it 🤣
My favorite of the recent WLToys bunch!
Us too!! 👍😁😎⚓
Have one and it's great. So many parts and mods available!
I've met bought this myself and it's awesome fast strong and looks the nuts! Black and red .dark side baby
Great video - thanks. Any ideas about running on a 3s Lipo? Can it do so safely? Is there space inside? Any details would be gratefully received!
Im looking forward to seeing the 1/10 scale buggy that's coming soon. Supposed to have a center diff mid motor and some other new cool tid bits. Awesome run as usual guys
Xlh q902 opens like that as well and it's brushless, but this seems faster
and Xinglehong Q901 and 903 :-)
@@filsdedieu100 nope, they don't open like that.
@@acche-rc ??
@@filsdedieu100 q901 903 do not have a hinge at the rear
@@acche-rc ; ok :-)
9:07 this is the time i am sold and just about to order one thanks for sharing
What would be a good ($200-300) buggy that can drive in semi short grass. I am looking to buy a RC vehicle and have large area’s of 2-3”grass. Thanks for any help
JLB Cheetah - around 300-320$ ( get the 120A ESC )
BTW guys, Nate LOVES this buggy 😂😂
Haha, that's right! 💯👍😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors much love guys! Love your channel ❤️🤘🏼
I would like to see a race between this and the purple buggy.
Sounds like an absolute blast 👍😁😎⚓
Cool RC 👍 Guys I'm finally getting a Aeroscout 1.2 and I will be using y'all's link to order it of course 😁 I'm so excited I'm literally not going to be able to sleep till it gets here 😂 Thanks for helping me get back into the hobby 🔥👍✌️
I have been beating on my 12429 for quite a while. This is my next.
⚓️You should of put snow on top of the ramp⚓️
That would have been fun 👍😁😎⚓
I use a computer aerosol blower and then place the car upside down works perfect
Nice vid but i have a question what battery does it use and were and what type of batteries would you recommend me to by for this rc car
Imagine this with Phat Bodies 'ZERO'- TCR/Rally or Rallycross style bodyshell. That will look like million bucks.
Broke the first night. Very mad. 12429 lasted like crazy. Not as fast but. Still runs great
You could do a controllable jump test for them to see which is better at jumping and controlling after the jump without flipping and which one lands better not necessarily which jumps farther tho if that makes sense
I do need some mental focus
Maybe do a drifting and jumping comparison
That looked really fun. You both make it very entertaing thank you !
I can’t decide, i love purple, but this one is really cool
If you plan to upgrade parts of beat it up, I'd go with the purple one. I have both and the body on this one is held on with lots of screws, so if you can't do it by opening the hatch, you'll have to mess with like 20 screws.
@@stanpotter7764 thanks for the input!
Love this buggy.....Its fast, durable and doesnt like to roll...Perfect basher, Currently my fav RC...
What battery were you running and what can it handle? I assume lipo and non lipo are both good?
Just ran the stock battery that is included with the RC 😉👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors perfect!
witch ones better the wltoys 124018 or the wltoys 12428
Hi love the buggy and keep up with the good work😀😀😀
This is an awesome sand buggy. It's just a shame that it does not come with the same wheels as the 12428. I would order the wheels along with this buggy for a better sand dune buggy. Thank for showing this nice RC! ;)
Great job guys!!💪
I say put a little bigger off-road tire on it and hit the dirt with them!
Another great little rc and in my price range good job guys.
COOL!! More snow so abby might fly the twin otter the whole flight?!!!!!
@ The RC Saylors, will you feture any traxxas vehicals on the chanel soon?!!
@@karenschlosser3370 lol the company that threatened legal action against them? I doubt it.
Hi there, I have the 124018 and I love it. Have broke the lower suspension arm and the drive shaft are a little not to straight. Have ordered the replacement parts and I’m thinking about swapping to a brushless engine. Hope all goes well with this upgrade. See you
I'm kinda loving this one. WLToys is always a smart bet. And Abby sure tried her best to break it. Talk about maximum fun per dollar....
LOVE this car even BETTER than my EXPENCIVE ones do yourself a favor of a BIGGER AGGRESSIVE TIRE upgrade and dont forget to GREASE the diffs
Maybe some kind of skis for the front 2 wheels as paddle tires for the back...
is there a 1/10 scale version? i love my 10428 but it died a brutal death awhile ago.
104001 version just came out. I dont think anyone in the US has one yet. They are all on their way from China.
Any know what upgraded battery to use for extra play time
Have both.love them both.
Have you guys reviewed the FTX DR8? Thinking about getting one. Love the reviews u guys do
Another great video guys 👍
Changed my name from fpv Pete FYI 😊
hahah
