Only dip non-national flags at the appropriate times, i.e. during the playing of national anthems, muffled ruffles, Taps etc. Refer to AFI 34-1201, paragraph 2.22.9. for specifics on dipping the USAF Departmental Flag. NOTE: If the Pledge of Allegiance is given after the playing of the National Anthem then the NCT will give the subdued command Bearers, Ready, TWO to return the USAF Flag to port or right shoulder. The USAF Flag will not be dipped during the Pledge of Allegiance.
