I still remember seeing Geesink beating Kaminaga at the final in 1964 Tokyo Olympic. Geesink was not only strong but well-mannered genuine Judoka fully understanding the spirit of Judo, endangered species these days.
Calcutta/ India= My husband practised JUDO ( 1971 - 1975) in Calcutta Judo Club , participated in many competitions( 86 + kg. Category) Je enjoyed these Judo techniques. His favourite technique= Tai-0-toshi.Sometimes World famous Judo masters would visit Calcutta .Very good moments !
@@Q_from_Star_Trek Agreed, reminds me of Travis Stevens of the United States after he injured his knee. Get the opponent to the mat by any means for newaza. Impressive, so hard to turn/submit a turtled opponent within the time limits.
Yep, its interesting that he doesn't mind just putting people on the ground. Works great because his ne-waza is excellent, so he'll just pass the guard and pin for 20.
I didn’t want to say this, but judo sacrificed its roots in self defense when it did away with attacks below the belt to promote itself in the Olympics with excellence in the traditional big throws that are dramatic and devastating. But this is what we end up with anyway, Mongolian wrestling instead of beautiful techniques. Btw, I love Mongolian wrestling 😅
Spettacolare! Tecniche diverse e ogni volta vincente, un grande atleta. Grazie!
Thank you. I love good Judo (only orange belt myself 50 years ago in 'Geesink town' Utrecht)

Fantastic performance. Strong and unpredictable. Japanese judo
I like it better if you comment personally instead of the computer voice
Thank you
Agreed - the computer voice ruins it
I don't really see any demolition but a good judoka you won all his contests...
él los demolió
Because they use and different Language .
I agree. He’s good, and he won, but it was very close.
🇯🇵🥋💪👏👍! great video!
In other news; Fish dominates in swimming contest
I suggest commentating with a human voice and placing subtitles if necessary. The computer voice is hard to listen to.
another master from japan. love japanese judo. georgian judo fan
Green Belt , Yoshito Hojo
Exelente judoka muy bueno técnicamente y fuerte 💪🤝
unecclectic judo style but hey it's his judo. Kinda enjoyed it
Ne-waza king
No, its a ne waza butcher.

No no no. We love your commentary don’t use the speech to text 😢
He is good alright. But my #1 judoka is still Shohei Ono.👍
very nice
👍
Not a lot of clean throws, more like wrangling for position. But good osaekomi.
He's very cool, though, I like his demeanor a lot.

Top🇩🇪👍

5:09 - WTF is a "WAZREE"?

Me, too, the coolness and self-assuredness?
if you going to comment on judo, learn to pronounce the words and especially the name correctly .

They look pseudo-Jujitsu.
IJF will ban Newaza soon as they banned Ashiwaza which made Judo pseudo-Mongol wrestling.

The commentary is atrocious.
Okay
when it comes to real fighting this art is useless
Agree 👍👍
