8 year old guide yet still one of the best out there for Lure fishing. Thanks for the tips. I literally got it on the first fishing attempt after I followed your fish line jerk pattern. lol
Little late but thanks for the guide, especially the tip about being able to catch it anytime during the day. Caught mines around 11~12 AM in game despite all the wikis and forum topics saying 4-9PM.
Man, it must've been hell playing years ago and not knowing the lure rod just requires shaking back and forth, and then waiting. This is so overly complicated.
Caught it on my first try, took me one attempt and 2 minutes, haha! Thanks, man :) I had upgraded the rod from a while back, by taking all the fishing medals and finishing the medal head achievement beforehand. This achievement was my third-to last one. I only miss the final boss and leveling the gemron from 56 to 76.
yeaaah... tried that, that state pop's up as ??????? so that doesn't work, the only way to get it to work is to feed them I suppose but that causes the process to take longer. fish in a particular size rage have particular wight amount's to them I find, anything over 90cm works to get first place because it's usually over 5000.
I wouldn't necessarily say that the Baron Garayan is good. To my knowledge, any fish can get the job done in the Finny Frenzy. All that matters is your fish's stats. If I recall, I just used that Baron because it looked weird due to having been acquired through breeding. Or, if you are asking "why go to all this effort to CATCH a Baron", well... because the trophy exists. :)
this game is fun when you know what you're doing to beat it. however, trophies wise it's one of the most boring, tedious and annoying platinum to attain on the ps4. I mean it force you to perfectly play and beat the mini games that you're not really interested to even try, and leave the most important part of what made dark cloud 1 and 2 to be a fun game and that's go into dungeons beat enemies built more powerful weapons then get to the surface and build towns and villages and tune them the way you see it fit to your liking. DC1 earn you trophies for doing some stupid simple stuff " kill an enemy with a bomb, let you character to be knocked out then revive him / her? change your playable character for the first time? " LOL and yet there's no trophy for beating the demon shaft, oh but there's a trophy to catch a baron, a fish I didn't even know it exists in the game until I played DC1 again 16 years later on the ps4.... I just hope Ni No Kuni 2 to not have a stupid trophy that ask you to play that strategy empire something mini game 2000 times without losing a single time.
I can't really argue with what you're saying here. Still, it didn't stop me from getting the platinum trophy for both games, more out of love for the series than completion. Although, completion does compel me most of the time. ;)
Zertonium Gaming I plated the first game right when I bought it on the ps4, dark cloud 1 is my no.1 favorite ps2 game to date actually on ps2, i pretty much did everything on it except left out the fishing stuff since I'm not a huge fan of fishing mini games especially on JRPG's, I swear that I'm not making it up but I did beat DC1 on the ps2 around 21 time on the entire ps2 life cycle. by the time I bought DC2 my ps2 was dying I remember i had some serious difficulties beating it the first time after I done with it I never touch it for a while and when I finally return to it I believe I reached halfway through it then my ps2 stopped reading discs. now when I got it on ps4 it seems so easy now from what I experienced back then when I was younger, never liked the spheda back on the ps2 and even now on ps4, they even added trophies around it making things a lot worse.
Chronux DC2 game play wise, is actually easier than the first game. it's only hard and boring on the trophies side. I have never played FFX on the ps2 nor the HD remaster on the ps3 or ps4, but I heard it's Plat requirements is BS!
this is what i did, i thought i could skip alot of this by just making the lure rod early into the game then realized you cant buy any lures without unlocking olivie.... who gives you a lure rod and sells the lures, so if your doing just what the title is explaining, do the quest to unlock olivie which will get you the lure rod and she will join your party, then your all set.

Glad to hear it helped you out. Also glad to hear that the guide is still good after all these years. :)

You say "little late" but here I am 7 years later using it! 😂
Thanks for the guide. It helped to see the reeling pattern to get the bite.
No problem! ;)
Thank you so much for such a thorough guide it really helped, I love JRPGs but Jesus Christ do they get cryptic and convoluted sometimes.
No problem. Glad I could help. :)
Amazing. It worked within a few tries. Thank you so much
You're very welcome. 😉
ATTENTION! If you are playing on PS2 you can only catch between 2pm -9pm

Time constraints were removed in the PS4 version. Old PS2 version was limited.
True

Worked like a charm, thank you!

Glad it helped. :)
Thanks, I really appreciate it! :D
this video is a nice bit of help but how are you suppose to know how heave the fish are before you go to the contest?
a bit too late but you save, place it in the aquarium. its one of the fish stats.the you just load after you checked it

How did you get a special colored Baron?
I got it through breeding fish. The specifics are at 7:03 in the video.
my Q is: why Baron Garayan is good?
I wouldn't necessarily say that the Baron Garayan is good. To my knowledge, any fish can get the job done in the Finny Frenzy. All that matters is your fish's stats. @@zertonium lol fair enough... I think because it's rare fish. that makes him special
Was listening to this when i finally caught one.
Honestly, achievement hunting fir these two games have made me dislike them....

You havent played ff10 HD if you think THIS game is a grind LOL

Indeed, getting even 1 or two of the trophies itself is a 12ish HOUR grind.. and thats ONLY for one of the trophies
You can just make the lure rod with invention so most of the video is irrelevant

There's no other way to get a lure aside from Olivia. Without a lure you can't use the lure rod.
Bullshit concept if you ask me.
