In Germany the stairs to the basement are often under the stairs to the upstairs. Works in the Sims too!

It's everywhere in the world. Haven't you seen more than 2 floors buildings? People always stack staircases at the same place.
It's generally done because the space would go unused due to the slope. So best to stack staircases so you can actually utilize that space.

Same, her cat is so cute and reminds me of a cat that I recently lost this year (RIP Littlefoot). Also I got a kitten too! I named him Shadow for multiple reasons. He's a little gray fluff ball that has his sweet, cuddly moments and other times he's getting into trouble or bullying my dog (13yrs old), who understands he's just a baby brat.
Simsie is fostering three baby kittens and their mother at the moment. I could listen to her talk about them forever 😅

@hayleygondek2425 I'm sorry got your loss, I've been there in early June with my 16 yo siamese. It was his time, but it still hurts. My new kitten is an 8 week old calico named Purrsephone. She purrs like a motorcycle.
Immediately when you mentioned you wanted cat info, my cat made her way towards the screen. Lol Willow is pretty big now but she still likes to sit next to me and watch me play the sims. When I first got her she used to sit on my desk directly in front of the screen and watch me build. She can get bored but it still warms my heart
For your cats question: my cats love watching animals on TV. They get more excited about other cats or birds and rodents, but I think they can definitely tell that they are animals and get curious! 🖤

My cats Tinsel and Nala enjoy watching the sims, too! When I watch your videos I usually get one of them coming to sit on my lap to observe the characters, or when snap is on the screen, they're fixated to her
My cat has also been obsessed with watching horses like eyes glued to screen while watching spirit the other day and trying to jump on the fireplace mantle while you were streaming 😂
Any time Kayla is wearing something that I also own, it always gives me this weird sense of happiness that at some point we've probably been matching 😅
When I was watching your stream and Charlie was running around the barrels my dog was SO fascinated with her running around 😭
Things about cats and screens: 1. Newer screens are more interesting to cats, due to advances in technology. Cats' eyes can detect motion at higher speeds than ours, so they weren't interested in the old CRT monitors because they could see the scan line making the image, and it didn't look like a moving picture to them. But, with newer HD/LED screens, they now see pretty much what we do. 2. Cats tend to be interested in fast, trackable motion. My cat doesn't usually pay attention to the TV, but he was super absorbed by slalom skiing all of a sudden the last time the winter Olympics happened.
I like speed builds to some extent but I absolutely love watching people build in real time. Especially when new packs come out. I feel more invested in the build if I’m watching the thoughts take place and change. I’m only saying this right now because I opened this video thinking it would be a real time build. I still really enjoyed watching it tho and the build is amazing :)
I play a couple different dinosaur simulator games and I've always noticed my cat really likes watching me play them, I assume because the dinosaur that you play is moving around and the overall idle animations of them seem to interest her quite a lot. (The tails of most dinosaurs idle animation kinda wave back and forth slowly across the screen). Sometimes she gets so excited by them that she'll sit RIGHT in-front of my monitor and I can't see a thing.

Had one cat obsessed with first-person perspective games. Current cats are more sound based, they start worrying over my game when baby Sims are crying, super sweet.
I have a 20 year old cat who has never paid any attention to screens whatsoever in her entire life. Has never so much as blinked in the direction of either a TV or a computer screen or anything, so I thought that was just normal. Then I rescued a young cat like 2ish years old, and he's a total ipad toddler. Loves watching TV if I put bird videos on it for him, or will play games for cats on my tablet for like half an hour at a time. Absolutely loves screens, the little goblin.
Loved seeing your lil kitty have a nice time with you while recording, and thanks for posting the video, I'm currently building a big ranch/greenhouse combo (I think I'll have the greenhouse be a courtyard in the center or something) and this gives some great inspiration!
My cat really loves any cat characters that resemble or make any kind of cat noises! I foster cats and I noticed the kittens are always more curious than the adults

Mr. Olkan made a modern ranch on his channel. It’s not “super” clean since it uses mostly items from this pack (he’s part of the EA creator network & had early access) but it has a different look to it than most of the new traditional ranch builds.
On the subject of cats and screens: my cat rarely pays attention to screens. Once in a while she'll watch my acnh character run around the tv screen but that's about it. Then last month I watched Bambi for the first time since I was a kid. My cat was *obsessed*. Her eyes were glued to the screen the entire time. Honestly props to the animators because the characters' movements are very similar to real life and I think that's what caught my cat's attention. She was as interested in watching Bambi as she is watching birds at my birdfeeders.
She's 3, still a baby lol. I haven't actually played with horses yet - only cas and build mode so far - so idk how she'll react to them yet.
my family recently adopted two kittens, and one of them absolutely loves the tv. we’ve been watching the women’s world cup and she loves it. she constantly jumps on the tv stand to watch the ball move, it’s very sweet. she also likes to watch me play minecraft a lot. :)
On the cat lore, my cat Endymion is the only one of my 4 cats who directly shows interest in screens. He likes to watch videos of animals, and gets very excited trying to find them behind the screen of the TV lol He also gets excited about animated animals who move similarly, like the horses in this pack! It's very interesting.
My cat also loves watching me play sims...think its just the movement and stuff honestly adorable.

my cat is about 7, and she's only recently become OBSESSED with screens lmao. she's shown interest in the butterfly effects in stardew for a while, and videos with birds in them, but recently she's really taken to chasing my cursor when i build in the sims. she also smacks at link when i play tears of the kingdom, especially when paragliding lol
I’m glad you mentioned the sims not working. I have had to rest my sims sooooo many times since horse ranch. My horses sometimes get stuck at the competition place. Rather annoying
My cats like the animals on the screens, but other things include like the the spinning plumbob of the load screen, and sometimes the chase the cursor! You know who really gets excited for the horses is my kids, my 5yo is actually playing the game now, and my 2yo LOVES watching the horses 🐎
I don't have cats, but our pet rats seem to enjoy watching movies with us. We let them roam on the couch and oftentimes when we put something on they'll lie down and look in the direction of the screen. I know their eyes are kind of wonky (it's kinda hard to tell where exactly they're looking) and they supposedly don't see that well and/or far, but the intent makes me believe that they at the very least aknowledge the screen and pay attention to it. It's very cute.
I have been WAITING for the cat question. My 20 year old baby absolutely LOVES to watch the tadpoles out in our pond, she’ll do it all day. She just sits there and watches.
I don’t have a cat but a dog and I play planet zoo and he loves to watch the animals. They can literally just be standing and he will be so excited 😂❤

I looovvveee the farm life and barn builds too!!! It's been sooo fuuunnnnn!!! Also I just love these things and even though I'm not a horse owner or anything it's been fun for me in the past to ride horses!
Speaking for my cats, both of them sometimes will look at movement on a screen, but they mostly just sleep now that they are really old about 16-17 years old. I think they have always loved movement but now they just don't care as much.
I watch your videos on a big TV and my Bengal cat is obsessed with horses too! She just sits in front of the TV and stares and meows 😍🐆
My cat does stare at the TV or my computer screen sometimes, I think it's just movement in general that holds her attention, because not everything I watch or play has animals in it. Sometimes I'll just be watching old film reviews on TH-cam and my cat will focus on the screen.
She likes to lay on my bed while she watches, and sometimes she looks between the TV and computer, as if unable to decide which to focus on.
Your builds are always amazing - but your cat is my favorite. :-)
My cats also love the horses. I have a video of him digging at my monster because he wanted to get to the horse haha. He is a tuxedo cat and has a milk mustache. His name is lucky and we found him when he was 2 weeks old with his three other siblings (we gave them all to family friends) on the side of the road and my sister bottle fed them until they grew up.

For stairs (from a Midwesterner in Tornado Alley) - often times, the stairs to the basement are directly below the stairs to the upstairs, because it's just most efficient to stack them. I don't know if that's possible in the Sims?
In houses without an upstairs, they usually get tucked into a corner of a main area (like a door off from the living or dining room) or just off a kitchen or garage area.

I’m being so fr when I say she built my pastors house. It’s basically IDENTICAL (on the outside). He owns horses and they also have a garden. Chefs kiss.
I definitely have been having issues with the game lately, it’ll crash or sometimes my sims will pretty much starve themselves they’ll get a serving of food but won’t eat it they will just sit there with it. I also have noticed that some of the nails in spa day are still not back on I hope they fix that soon.
My kitten watches TV. BUT we recently watched an anime and the main character could turn into a little black cat- Theo (my kitten) was so engrossed with the movie while the little cat was running around. He even reacted to the emotional beats. Like when the cat's home was destroyed he put his little ears back and looked up at us as if he was upset for his black cat friend. Animals are smarter than most ppl give them credit for.
I've been having routing issues too! I patched last night and sims wouldn't go to bed in beds that previously worked or shower in showers that never had problems either. I think they did something with routing for horses that is effecting sims too.

Architects usually stack staircases over each other. Stairs to the basement would be right under the stairs going upstairs. There are of course, exceptions, but this would be the standard layout. Also, a feeding or watering trough, is pronounced "troff". Not sure if I heard you saying "trow" or not. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Beautiful horse ranch by the way. I'm loving the new pack!
Well, I don't have a cat, but my dog cares about screens a lot. He is fascinated by soccer on tv and sometimes he chases birds and other animals in movies. When they leave the screen, he even checks behind the tv stand to see where they went, it's so funny haha
My cat's never been interested in my games, but I have noticed her be very interested in Supernanny. Like I have pictures of her laying on my bed utterly enthralled with the show.
Cat data: One of my cats, Jack, a blue tuxedo cat who passed away about a year ago, 😢, used to love watching my computer screen and would often try to bat at the mouse or whatever else was on there. So at least once a day I would show him some “cat videos“ of birds or squirrels - he loved that. My other kitty, Lily, who is now 17, has never shown the slightest inclination towards screens of any kind. She prefers to play with toys she can physically bite and claw. She doesn’t even like the laser pointer.
my old cat, peaches, was obsessed with watching me play certain video games (mostly any type of third person/top down types where the character was visibly moving around). when she was a kitten, she'd sit on my shoulder and just watch me play for hours. as she got older, she switched to sitting on my keyboard (and hands) to paw at the screen before i'd inevitably move her back to my shoulder. my current cat, jasmine, doesn't like heights, so she outright refuses to jump onto my desk, let alone onto my shoulder to watch. even tho i love my current cat, i kinda miss being bothered while i play.
Cellar door leading to a ladder would be so good. or even just cellar door leading to stairs.
I've definitely had routing issues! Games are taking longer to load, and my games frozen twice, but those could be computer related.
My older 2 cats couldn’t be bothered with screens but my 5 year old cat has always been into screens. He’s a big fan of Lady and the Tramp and the Aristocats. He bats at the TV. He sits on my desk and watches TH-cam videos and the sims also.
My cat loves drama tv shows!! She couldn’t care less about games and what not but she is obsessed with gossip girl and vampire diaries. She lives for the drama

Cat data: my two boy kittens love to watch my husband play games whether it’s sports or shooters or anything in between. We have a big tv not far from the floor and it’s hilarious when they start chasing stuff on the screen too.

My middle cat loves when I play the sims not because he’s watching the screen but because I’m actually staying still
I've had the freezing in place issue too, 3x speed for a bit and they usually snap out of it or i end up reloading. I also have had an issue where they get stuck spinning in circles.
Your cat being obsessed with animals in games is probably because of the way they scurry and run around on the screen like the small rodents that cats like to catch. Like the horses in the sims; I could see how them galloping around might catch a cat’s attention.
My cat would *sprint* to my desk if I played Minecraft or Sims and had cats lol. If she stayed for a while, she would sometimes try and catch my sims if they made sudden movements, but mostly just laid across my keyboard :)
Love it! I also started to have weird issues, i also had some routing issues when they wouldn't wanna get into the bed. And they also getting stuck in endless cooking or endless eating without the eating actually happening. I have to go to Manage worlds and come back to be working again. Quite annoying ngl :/
My one cat will sometimes watch TV and he really enjoyed Lion King with all the movement, meanwhile our female cat was watching the horse on my screen with fascination which she's never done before because of eye sight problems.

I haven't had issues with crashing, but I've had a lot of strange glitches. One particularly notable glitch was that one of my Sims, who had no writing skill and had been doing nothing related to writing, took a nap and built writing skill past level 2 during the nap.
When she was a kitten, my car would watch documentaries all the time. It was such a big thing that I ended up leaving the TV on, Planet earth episodes on rotation, when I was out so she had entertainment. She grew out of it tho.

I have a cat names Arrow and he absolutely HAAAAAATES screens like full despises screens. Hell sit on my switch so I can’t play if I reach for it, he walks in front of my phone so I can’t do anything with it and he hits my Xbox controller if I pick it up. I don’t know what his issue with them are but it’s truly the bane of his existence 😂
My cats also like to watch my sims go around and one of them especially likes the pets!

I got an 11 year old cat who is not really interested in screens BUT he likes to do the “making bread” motion. I have never seen him do that until last year, which was when my instagram was full of those videos. I like to think that he is following the cat trend, so he’s started doing the bread motion after seeing it on my phone lol

he’s super interested in stardew too, but doesn’t care about sims at all. he does love action movies on tv tho haha
Have you ever made a haunted house? I too had trouble with the stares in my basement, and yes I have one sims that gets stuck for hours ( like all day) I don’t know where to complain so I just walk around her.
My cats love going outside in the backyard and just recently I played a video of birds and squirrels for one because she was sitting by my tv (because the other was sunbathing lol) but she absolutely loved it, stayed there for almost two hours
My other cat likes to actually be outside more because he likes to hunt rats and squirrels. superb kitty though and very good at hunting
A note, in typical english language style, water "trough" is pronounced using the least elegant sounding option for that combination of letters: "troff" (like cough). TBH the way Kayla said it @15:56 sounds nicer tho, the english language made some sus choices back in the day

In my sims bedroom the bed is in the middle and there is space for them to walk on both sides but for some reason when they wake up on the right side they cant leave the room and get late for work etc. i always have to make them walk like three steps at a time until theyre out of the room and then they work normally
my cat was born in my grandmas barn but now she is a house cat so she is really interested in watching me play games and also catching flies. who knew the were so similar!!!

My cat loves my monitors. He’s also 15 and loves to watch my cursor. But the best was when I made a sim version of him - he was SO mad and tried to fight the screen because it meowed.
One of my cats doesn't notice at all, my other one is funniest if there is a horse on screen and its flicking its tail. He's obsessed with trying to catch it and gets his paws all over my screen xD.
my current legacy fam just moved to a ranch. before that the family consisted of two adults, two teens and two cats. now they also have two horses, a cow, a llama, three chickens, a sheep, a goat, and a bunch of wild rabbits running around. plus a giant garden and a nectar cellar. i'm already so overwhelmed but i also want their horses to have a baby and maybe get a dog. help.

My 1.5 year old cat LOVES when we put on animal planet on the tv she will literally sit there and watch the tv for HOURS if we let her
To answer your car question, my cat is 5 and he’s obsessed with watching my games on the laptop screen. He’ll curl up and watch me play my sims as well as other games. (Mainly sims) I think he likes watching the little ‘people’ walk around lol
About the gallery issues, recently I've gotten times where I tried to save a build to my library and it just loads and loads and loads, and I haven't been able to figure out why. I've also started getting a lot of lag when building, especially building walls and things like that. I don't know why because I only got the game in March and I only have cottage living and the free holiday pack so I don't think it's too much data for my Mac to handle, but idk.
