My Lee amd Redding seating dies are adjustable without tools. I have a 9mm Luger RCBS die set and I get varying seating depths beyond my comfort of 9mm seating variances. I carefully adjust the seating depth and it is not consistant. I did not bother hetting an RCBS rifle die set due to this adjustment type of needing tools. Buying from Lee, I also thought it was weird I had to buy the shell holder seperately. The only RCBS rifle die I have are the Small Base rifle sizing dies for when I need them.
I use a mix of Hornady, Lee, and RCBS dies. I like getting everything you need in one package like this. Excellent video. Plus this makes me realize I need to bite the bullet and just get a decent electronic scale like that and stop having to mess around with what i have now.
The scale is half the battle m8, after you drop $1000 CDN on an AND scale you STILL have the Autotrickler's themselves are another $500. I can handle that but just like barrels they have a significant production lead time before you can use the gear you forked up that money for.
Nice ring groove on the bullet ogives left by the seater die. There`s nothing new with these dies, they just added a ammo check gauge and a shell holder to the box with a priddy gold storage box now. This die set "kit" is what they ALL should have been doing decades ago. Ahhhh yes, marketing strategy. Fool the guy with the open loose wallet.
Just an FYI. My Sierra 107 Matchkings came pointed to reduce the meplat and appears to have been deformed by the seater die. That isn’t the case. The pointing is said to increase the bc.
I got a question for you will the Frankford arsenal universal seating die fit in the RCBS summit press sorry if you have already answered this question before.
Nice very clear video. Since the lack of primers i want to ask you what your thoughts are regarding using small rifle primers on .308 vs large rifle primers.. Srp are more available here in the Netherlands .What would you do?...Buy brass that fit srp's.. Your thoughts or anyones thoughts are much appriciated.
Just started loading for my 6mm Creedmoor, Zero press, Area 419 M-Sizing die, Redding bullet seating die. CCI LR primers, Nosler Premium brass, H4350 powder, have tried Hornaday 103,108 EDL, Sierra 107 Match Kings and Berger 115 gr. bullets. Still trying to find the powder charge it, it being a Delta 5 Pro, likes the best. Maybe need to try different powders or different seating depths. Have not found the 1/2 groups yet. Warmer weather is coming to NW Montana I hope.
Well it's clear you have spent 2000 dollars in reloading equipment. Probably should have just build a custom rifle and got a mec press, redding dies, lapua brass and spent the rest on beer 🍺 Lol
@@SAUM76 Shot tonight at our 100 yd. under-gound range, 100 rounds, virgin norma brass, H4350, Rem. LR 9 1/2, Sierra MK 107 gr. 2925 fps. Average 5 shoot groups were 5/8 , most less, a few flyers for my old eyes. No excuse, 60 deg., no wind. I'll get there.
What makes this die set Supreme? I love my RCBS Rebel press. I've had no trouble out of it. But when it comes to dies, I don't really think of RCBS very much. Companies like Wilson, Forster, and Redding are typically who I get my dies from. Are there any advantages to these dies?
not a fan of non-micrometer seating dies. Otherwise, I usually just end up having to buy another die for each bullet I shoot, because adjusting them between bullets in a PITA.
I haven’t got on the Needmore bus yet. To me it’s mostly marketing hype to get sales up. There’s plenty of other cartridges that will match the ballistics with my two favorites being the 6.5-284 and the 6.5x55. I expect the Creed will fade away eventually like the 26 nosler and 260 did. The 260 will hold right with a creed or as well and has been around forever. Anyways. Didn’t mean to rant. I use RCBS for a few calibers and they do great. I enjoy the videos. Cheers mate.
Anyone else tumble the brass after resizing to remove case lube? I see he primes in the same step as sizing. I’m not sure that would work well with my OCD.
@@shawnbuonarosa3188Yeah they are out in the wild and online but $10 and change a pack or $100 and change for a case is crazy, only Match stuff use to cost that
@@BcFuTw9jt While Gavin didn't appear to have any difficulties, I have found that it is often beneficial to take steps to ease the trip of the expander ball back out through the case neck. I am skeptical about nthese new dies. They dont get any better runout than standard dies.I have used rcbs for over 40 years and get that good of runout.
I hate the adjustment on RCBS bullet seating dies, requires tools!? Both hornady and lee have better bullet seating adjustments with finger adjustments. RCBS needs to get it together.
What makes the supreme die’s different? Different name and packaging? Title/ video misleading. I thought you was going to speak about the ‘new’ dies. You say drop comments, we will start a discussion?….
So it’s a regular RCBS two die set with a shell holder and case gauge? Lee has been including shell holders with their dies for years and a case gauge is pretty pointless if you’re reloading correctly. Try again RCBS.
Huh? No cleaning or checking of either primer hole and brass condition before sizing? Among other lacking processes. Calling bullshit for precise ammo bro.
Man for someone who talks non stop crap about other people showing reloading processes you have zero vids up of yours going on. People like you are hilarious
Would love to see a series comparing runout of different seater dies. Suspect there could be some affordable options punching well above their weight.
Been using my RCBS dies in 308 for years and never let me down. Another great vid, cheers.

$30 dollar dies with a $40 dollar case gage... What a deal

Will have to look into these Supreme die sets.
What makes these supreme, other than having a case gauge? Are they made any better than the standard dies?
Don't forget the shell holder lol

what is the neck tension set to using these dies?

I would like to know as well. Are they literally the same? Just the same name and packaging? Dumb video/ misleading.
If they would have more options on seating stems they’d be great but Hornady dies smoke them hands down!
I thought they said at shot show that these would be shipping with the matchmaster dies. Guess that changed.

So you do remove the resizing lube before you seat the bullet and there is no concern about the case sticking inside the die?
You only need the lube for resizing
I never heard of brass getting stuck in a seating die
Not to seat. If you are sticking cases seating you are doing something very very wrong
Can’t find it on their website

I tumble after decapping and resize.
Nice one👍
Where are they made ?
What makes the supreme different than reg dies
Great vid as always, but here in Commiefornia primers are nonexistent and ZERO availability online 🤬🤬
I feel you bud. I live in IL. I hate it here, I have at least been finding primers. I feel the pain you guys feel

There are primers out there, have you been using ammoseek? I just got a case of Winchester LRP delivered today.
The problem is the damn prices

So just normal dies with a shell holder and case gauge ? 73 bucks vs 44. Sounds about right to me. I like RCBS they make some nice dies.
What lube did you use inside the case necks?
What? Why would you lube inside the case neck?

I think the new name ought to be Brief Overview Reloader to lend more credence to the not so deep dive into the activity.
Typical commercial for unremarkable product
