- Seeing as how everyone loves the legend that is multiple times UFC Champion, world renowned MMA fighter and all round über individual Georges St-Pierre, I thought I would add up a little more from his outstanding seminar on striking for MMA at the For the Love of MMA event held earlier on in the year in Manchester.
In it, Georges talks about how he approaches dealing with taller opponents reach in MMA through the use of position, baits and feints. His coaching, details and breakdown are all as phenomenal as you might expect 🤯🤯🔥
I am sure you don't need me to tell you how amazing an individual he is so make sure you smash the follow button on him (should you be one of the few not already keeping up to date with all that he does!!) and the For The Love Of MMA series today!! I can't wait for the next one to take place in Manchester April 2023!!

GSP is a good dude.
GSP is the GOAT IMO 🐐
i mean hes been metood like 500 times but alright
@@arealhuman826 what?
Man has 8 foot reach
@@ce707fI love him too
I do five minute rounds where I just practice my feinting the entire time. Helps a lot 💪
I get so gased throwing Feints idk why
@@honestlee9921 I get that, it's almost harder/uses more energy to stop movement once in motion.
@@goonytunes4119 so true
What if someone doesn't flinch or can take a jab
@Rick Thomas if they don’t flinch then they don’t respect your strikes yet. Hit them with a couple good jabs, a couple good crosses and some leg kicks and then start to feint to get an opening. Keep in mind the more experience somebody has the less they’re going to flinch to your feints definitely if you’re at a lower level than them. Like if I sparred with someone who I knew couldn’t hurt me I wouldn’t really react to their feints either. Just keep at it and eventually you’ll get that respect
George St-Pierre using the same faints as Bruce Lee literally!!!🥋
Yep caught that
That snap type jab is so sneaky
That´s just normal boxing. Every boxing club does it. Mayweather stance is most of the time like that. Nothing special.
@@therealist6945 These guys try to bring Bruce lee the actor into everything. Punches are from boxing, takedowns are from wrestling, knees are from Muay Thai etc.
@@mrannymus and Bruce says if it works, use it! Doesn't matter what discipline or art! Original MMA...
He's so FAST! He's so wise to have left when he did; left while still on top.
ME GUSTÓ ESO DE QUE SE QUEDA QUIETITO PARA QUE NO SE LO GOLPEE,... Y..... EN LA CALLE ESTO REALMENTE FUNCIONA.....???
REALMENTE ES UNA COSA DE "LOCOS" PENSAR QUÉ FUNCIONARÁ ESTO
@@jorgealvarofernandezacosta4801 it's good for reading how they will react to a punch being thrown at them plus if an apponent moves back a second later they will move their head forwards again and thats the one that catches them
@@jorgealvarofernandezacosta4801 pretty sure GSP knows way more than you when it comes to fighting.
@@F76CC
Wath are you tal king abouth.....!!!???

Por qué toda esa basura.....???
Cada uno da lo que recibe, y luego recibe lo que da
It's Good to see a GOAT Passing his knowledge in Combat to the next generation. ❤️
the art of feinting
GSP the Greatest of all time! 🐐
Learnt this from Bruce Lee 50 years ago…thx to GSP the legend for also sharing
Wear out his nervous system. Absolutely brilliant
Not really, it’s basics.
@@F76CC it’s basics? Lol okay mike Tyson, chillout
@@mmainvesting7013 it is though. Feinting is something every fighter learns when they first start sparring. Lol I was like 7-8 when I learned how and why to feint. It’s really not that deep.
@@F76CCit may not be that much in use, however its affects are
@@F76CCnah feinting sets up combinations, especially if you have the other fighter timed
The rush will never get old
One of the nicest guys ever loved watching his fights back in the day
Couldn’t have explained it any better, DA REAL 🐐
A jack of many trades, and a master of the jab
Thats certainly not a master jab...its an arm punch and he's wide open for a check hook and liver shot
Feinting and conditioning are next-level.
PERFECT teacher
It's no wonder he's a champion
Genius
Strength & speed < timing & accuracy
This dude is another level
One of the greatest, if not the greatest.
Never underestimate a good feint
LFG! 👏 GSP = 🐐
That's golden ✨️
My favorite fighter of all time! Thankyou gsp for all the knowledge you give!!
I stood next to GSP in Vegas. It amazes me how small these guys are. That is not to take away from his fighting skills, just an observation.
Legend
Very nice and the best fighting skill keep it up👍👍👍
Goat
God bless u brothers
Broken Rhythm - Bruce Lee
Holy shit that’s fucking amazing
GSP channeling Bruce Lee perfectly
Did this his entire career!
Very interesting
Still very sharp strikes, legend
Josh Koscheck had some flashbacks with this clip 😂
Also went about half as fast when not feinting.
The GOAT!!!!!
This guy could have success in ufc
GOAT
GSP should be teaching combat fighting for the military forces.
Fuckin legend. Goddamn.
🐐👊💥
Yup Bruce Lee talked about this, bridging with a feint right before you strike; Israel Adesanya is master at it!
(GSP in a interview mentioned using several concepts and techniques from Bruce Lee, so just shoo before nagging about mentioning Bruce lol)
Bruce had some really good stuff
@@BallstinkBaron yeah he did, not as high level as the best in MMA today, but still useful things to learn
@@stephanwatson7902 exactly. How to play basic mind games, fundamental concepts. He provided a basic framework that anyone can understand to learn how to create their own fighting style which is something I haven't really seen anyone else do in book form
His shape is still on fighter mode
He’s a master of dressing room self-defense.
In jeans too
I wish that this man could coach me
When I practice I like to grunt/breath when feinting just like when I'm actually punching or kicking. Makes it less predictable I think
When I use faint every one in the internet say that I 'm stiff, while i' m working on my game plan
It also helps that he was way faster with his Jab at the end, lol 😆
When going against someone taller or very skillfull.. Id purposely leave myself open to attack at specific areas of my body. Without overselling, the other person usually falls into my trap...
GSP definitely learned this in Kyokushin sparring. His patience in the gap was parallel to none. He didn't even look like he was trying
Kyokushin doesn’t even strike to the face, so how would he learn it there?
Perhaps it can be better traced to the flicker jab or the uraken in shotokan? I think Kyokushin punches are much heavier and more power-oriented.
5 Ways of Attack. Bruce Lee😉
Even in streetfights, the one who initiates the feints win 100% of the time. Check that out
Pierre Fashionably Late with that Haircut.
🤣👍
did this against bj penn
He is going faster in the last example than the first two but yea feints are good lol
Achilles is the best because he learns from the best 👌
And that’s how Hendrix (although juiced) was able to lad them hooks.
Yeah that makes a difference
he used it a lot in his secon fight with BJ Penn
George, we already learned that from Bruce Lee's movies 50 years ago. Was that where you learned it?
This is the same logic he used on nj pen second fight
I like this better long term over the one about the oblique kick..
Both are good
Rush is a fighter and not just a band! Too bad he never walked out to Tom Sawyer (the opening lyrics are PERFECT for a walkout song) or another Rush gem.
More Van Damme than Van Damme
He came up with this idea to beat bj penn
Хера спортсмен в джинсах)))
That's called fainting in boxing
Up
CAN I see this in 360 rotation
*Oh the ole George McFly Biff sinario...*
He also went faster the second time
Guy really likes tommy hilfiger
It's George St Pi Hair.
👂🏽
bro such a nice dude lmao but inside the cage hes a monster
Yeah, I can see him.. just fuckin..
A whole lot of martial arts experts who've never fought in this comment section. Straight clowns.
I understand completely what he’s saying but from a logical standpoint the speed is the only proven difference. You never hit someone’s hand throwing that slow no matter if you load up or not
Sean o mally should be teaching this
outboxed strikers and outwrestled wrestlers when all he knew was karate in his teens
I do nothing but feint
If u want to see classic feint just check out manny pacquiao 💪🏾👊🏾😎
Score! Reminded me of beavis and butthead for some reason 😂
Could have showed the hands at least
Bad cam angle👎
You cost me aalot or money i womder how much i can get for your little bird costume.😂
Saenchai does this gret
Didn’t know GSP was a blonde
Stevewilldoit can body double him
Why does GSP not sounded like a native speaker has been bothering me for years. He sounded like Mexican. But he’s Canadian isn’t he?
French Canadian
i don't know why china refuses to evolve in terms of martial arts. i heard they had a big influence on the development of japanese martial arts like karate and jujutsu, and in turn those disciplines went on to influence modern fighting styles like kickboxing and brazilian jiu jitsu. they laid the groundwork for modern mma but it seems like they want to stay in the past, i guess its a pride thing since they want to ignore all foreign styles and pretend like their traditional arts are still on top.
Just use a weapon 😂
Thats cool man but too much weight on your front foot and you are leading with your head.
You do know who this is
Like this guy knows anything about fighting. He shows up in jeans, man... 😅😏
He sounds like vandamme
In all of gsp title defenses he never knocked anyone out.
And?
Most overrated fighter of all time
I would've assumed GSP had a much better jab than this, this is quite poor.
Tell that to his belt rack 😂 clown take
