I love this game, ended up buying it instead of Elden Ring when it first dropped on PC, mostly because I was already keeping an eye on it and I'm pretty sure that Elden ring would make my laptop explode, and I've loved every second of that journey. Definitely a game where it's best to go in as blind as possible if you can.
Awesome game. Downloaded it from gamepass in march just to have a quick look and couldn't stop playing it. Next to Arietta and Blossom Tales one of the best of its kind.
Currently playing Death's Door which just had an amazingly beautiful standard retail release (inner box art, beautiful manual, beautiful back of the box as well what seems to be a common Devolver thing to do and I love it, but overall a very rare thing ironically typical to lower budget games), and when or if Tunic gets a physical release with the actual manual, I'll definitely get it at some point.

Pretty surprised the game runs at at a sturdy 30fps. Might look simplistic at a glance but I've seen worse running games with less

This looks similar to Death’s Door. Does anyone know why these kinds of isometric games have as many graphical drawbacks as they do on Switch? The Switch seems like it would be able to handle games like Tunic without breaking a sweat.
Ehhhh personally I think he sugar-coated it a bit. It definitely slows under 30 throughout, not game breaking at least. If anything it reminded me of the original zelda if I had to spin zone it lol
I got Death's Door vibes too but the whole color pallet is brighter and the art style is very distinct. Both great games.

Although I believe this is a great game on other platforms, I don’t understand the high praise for the Switch version. The graphics look muddy and the freezes are holding me off buying this game for 30 euros. I just don’t see the effort by the developer to make a Switch port that is worth the money. Maybe I’ll get it on sale but not at this price.
how does all this run? Tunic, after all, was developed for much more powerful hardware with 4K output at 60fps. Unfortunately, the Switch port comes with a few hiccups that make it more difficult to recommend if you have another way to play. Namely, the lowered resolution muddies the vibrant world, giving the whole experience a ‘fuzzy’ sheen in a game clearly meant to have defined edges and clear vistas. Handheld mode alleviates this somewhat, and if you haven’t seen footage of the game running on another platform, and if 30fps doesn't bother you, these caveats might not bother you either.
You will, however, notice when the game freezes for a second or two during the more hectic boss fights; this never happened to us against regular enemies, but it quite often did with the final fights of each zone.

tunic looks awful and has performance issues on the switch
It certainly doesn't look as sharp as other versions, which is to be expected. In terms of performance our frame rate tests actually came back very stable overall. You can skip to 6:27 if you're interested in hearing about performance
