That is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard, and her voice is perfect - so beautiful.

Thanks so much for this great video. I remember many of those buildings from my childhood. My great grandparents had lived here in Dallas since the late 1800s. The next 4 generations were born in Dallas so going back in history brings me immense pleasure. The song and music was fantastic. Once again, thank you so much for posting this video. I'll be checking out your other videos.

Have lived on the edge of downtown Dallas for years and walk the city often. This was fascinating, thank you for sharing. The score from Anna works beautifully with it as well.

Absolutely amazing piece of film. Your dad knew how to pan. Thanks for the upload. It is amazing how the traffic is so light. Now it is so packed and really sad. Beautiful song.

Thank you Thank you - my father was an architect and worked on many of the buildings you showed that I have never seen at the time when he worked on them (I was born in 1964!) Thank you!

Thank you for posting this gorgeous and important video. It captures the city before it's downtown was choked by glass and steel monoliths and completely encircled by expressways. It shows parts of the city before they were cut in half by expressways. The song is lovely and it captures what the city was like then. :) PS this film appears to be entirely of Dallas. I did not see any recognizable footage of FW.

Jerry Probst it's kinda bitter Sweet. Dallas' worst mistake in it's history is the creation of the freeway system that cut between neighborhoods and downtown.

CrazyKidAndFriends right and how would today’s population move about without the freeways ?

The skyscraper at the 4:08 mark was the only skyscraper build in WWII in the U.S. The tall spike at the top told the weather by lighting up to display different colors. Blue was one type of weather, green was another, etc.

Back in those days buildings and skyscrapers were just beginning to be built with glass. Most were concrete and brick and very simple box shapes. Nowadays they build skyscrapers with more advance futuristic design and engineering like the rocket shape Fountain Place, Reunion Tower sphere, AMLI Fountain Place, Museum Tower and other designs in other big cities.

Kind of sad… you can see how far the trees used to spread outside of the city. If you were looking from an airplane today you wouldn’t see any of it.

Huge airports, Mexicans, democrats, tollways, east Texas moved in everywhere, foreigners moved in everywhere. It really used to be a great and very fun city...it's all ruined. That's what happened. 😕😢😩
