      Mohammad Hadid was aware that his empire was in decline. The high-risk mega projects he was undertaking in Bel Air were a substantial gamble. He strategically utilized his daughters, sending them to events and house parties dressed in the latest Victoria's Secret pieces, carefully selected by Mr. Hadid. These gatherings were attended by individuals with the authority to grant permission. When he required a loan to finance his projects, his daughter would spend weeks in the banker's hotel room, diligently preparing and finalizing the paperwork for her father. There are accounts of Hadid's daughters working tirelessly, day and night, alongside bankers to ensure every detail of the loan was approved. They were not just beauty without brains; they were known for their negotiation skills, even with the toughest individuals. Unfortunately, overused tactics quickly lose their effectiveness, and people and bankers eventually saw through the ploy. Mohammad Hadid's properties began to fail as his daughters' influence waned, and their recruitment careers were too widely expanded and over booked. It exemplifies the deep bond between a father and his daughters, as well as what they could achieve through their connections and collaboration. No one can take away the love and understand a father shares with his daughters.

    What an eyesore. Now it is an insane amount of debris designated for the landfill even if some of the materials can be recycled. Amazing how one person can do enough environmental damage to equal that of a hundred people? A thousand people? Just insane.

      Haddid had some areas built without a license, and the home was starting to drop off the cliff side. They claimed he used cheap materials,and desperate to sell it. He had another huge home he lived ina d was selling. Itwas on the market for years. Not sure if anyone bought it. He lowered the price multiple times, and still did not sell.

      How was this greed? To me it looks like Hadid built something beautiful. Have you done that? For snooty people like you the difference between earning money and greed is defined by your envy of the moment. I'll bet you never earned anything significant in your life.

    • @w.harrison7277
      @w.harrison7277 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaeltrumph121 Just because he built it bigger than it was supposed to be doesn't confirm greed. Whatever it was it was not as sickening as the envious impulse to destroy something beautiful that someone took the time to create. These are the sickening peasants with their pitch forks who want to kill the sculptor who made something beautiful. This isn't the poor envying the rich, its the rich envying the richer. The danger this property posed almost surely did not exist in reality.

    FYI, Turkish baths are called "Hammams" in Turkey. They are an important part of Turkish culture and the MARBLE plays a significant part.
    Mr. Hadid probably aimed for "Hararet" which is marble-covered hot room! 🔥🥵 You will receive rejuvenating cleansing, then traditional body scrubbing with a handwoven washcloth (kese), a foam wash, and a massage.
    To me, it looked like it was big as the traditional public Hamams in Turkey. Supernice design! 👌 Wow! Thanks for showing, and thanks for demolishing the entire house carefully. Great job! 👍

    I built a “normal” house 3 years ago here in SoCal. I can’t see how the wrong design can make it through all of the hoops that you have to go through. First, there are a ton of engineering licenses needed. Structural, mechanics (hvac, electrical, plumbing), seismic, soils, grading, water calcs, architectural). I paid $50k in fees for a normal house approximately 50 miles inland of LA. I can’t see how the wrong design can get approved and built. I am guessing that some money had changed hands, but who knows.

I like the glass wall that shows the view of the mountain. I like the marble fireplace. The moveable marble island bar is so original and awesome. The curve mansion was a beautiful mansion even though I am a fan of symmetrical rectangular mansions. Finished in 1940, but he never got to use it, had to live in a bunker in the back because of air raids. Demolished in 1945, and a lot of that marble was used in the nearby U-bahn ( subway) station. What an absolutely shame in the planning process over build and underhanded scheme by Hadid to usurp regulations. My God the homes right under this had to pray every night please don’t come down and kill us.
    The Sound Blankets will help in mitigation but will not cut it all. Hopefully the planning and zoning committee will be respectful to the elements and area.

    With the supply shortage occurring, it's really disgusting to see all of this marble and materials being TRASHED!
    There's definitely a secondary market that would be willing purchase it -- particularly builders in lower-priced cities and neighborhoods.
    They should be trying to sell it -- or give it away.
    Heck! I would take that marble, and redo my kitchen and baths, regardless of the stains.
    How can I get in touch with them?

    Seeing the listing of the cassons, it's well understood that the homeowners downhill would be very concerned the entire structure would slide off the hill at some point, or perhaps freed by an earthquake. It would have been cool to talk about how those were leaning so much and the genuine concerns of all.

    Really enjoyed this video but found it heart breaking to hear the beautiful marble, glass and other materials were being dumped or recycled.
    All that craftsmanship and hard work has gone to waste. I appreciate that the marble was stained but to most of us who can't afford such luxurious materials, we would be extactic to be given the opportunity to purchase some secondhand beautifully aged marble. One person's trash, is another person's gold.......seems such a waste....

    • @adriannarodriguez3188
      @adriannarodriguez3188 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m thinking it gives the construction company a tax break and the marble can be reused. what I want to know is if the whole mansion needs to be demolished or can some of the original building be kept, given it was permitted ect? Or is the building trash due to damage ect? very unfortunate but if it’s a danger…

    Hi Scott, my best guess bet is Sahara Const. has there shit together with the purchase price at 5 mil., demo which I'm sure they will be self-performing around 2-3 mil. at most, then build a amazing home once again self-performing supervision at the least, investing 18 - 28 mil, and at the end of the rainbow selling 2 years from now 85-125 mil. Such a shame to see all the wasted materials, labor and over all 8 noisy years of failed dreams, also clearly can tell the project went through superintendents and a shit load of subs picking up after where someone else left off, bet there was a lot of cash paid out under the table for a Big Mess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,shame. On that happy note, Great show Scott keep these interesting projects coming,,,,,,,,,,,,,cheers sir

    It's a great vid got to agree I was expecting a very large garage,maybe it was meant to go into the space behind, strange though. Also shows money doesn't buy taste, there ain't no way to make that place a home, it's just a status symbol and entertainment space. Mates place, prob worth now £900k+ or more with the way prices have gone, is just polished or pro vinyl fitted flooring and open spaces (due to easy for his disability), and it is a thumbnail compared to that place but, even his lacks feel, more like a small industrial unit.

    • @Zarathustran
      @Zarathustran 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. Hard to get (and even harder to stay) rich not knowing how/when to cut losses. The thing that surprised me was that he had a mortgage, but ultimately that was what allowed him to refuse to demolish and walk away apparently. I typically think receivership implies bankruptcy but defaulting on a loan is every bit as much a strategy for avoiding bankruptcy as it can be it’s result. Years ago I personally guaranteed vehicle leases for a corporate partnership we later dissolved, so of course turned the vehicles back in, but early-which are considered repos. And even though I did not deprive the lessor (GMAC, “smartbuy”🙄) of their assets I was nonetheless called on-and-off by bill collectors for about a decade, albeit with decreasing frequency.
      What I told them each time started as basically “If we both know we returned your trucks regardless of whether we also both know turning them in early isn’t repossession even if calling it that seven times over on my credit report’ might be fair retaliation for us walking away early so obviously both also know you didn’t satisfy the remainder of the contract we broke either then how can we not both know for that additional related consideration to now be in arrears iit would have first needed to accrue to you and then I’d have had to miss the payments. You can imagine it however you want to just like some people imagine the chromosomal impossibility of playing dress-up with their genitals but even a contract stating I owe you that money doesn’t mean I do anymore than filleting one’s junk is nearly as much of why trannys think they’re women as realizing it hasn’t changed what one expected it to after what they couldn’t wait to be rid of has been incinerated in the surgical biohazard waste means a bitch prolly won’t be detransitioning. So nice try fbut this debt is about as real as gender fluidity “ and evolved into “I’m sorry you bought a bunk receivable from the last guy who did about the same but if I pay you the money are you gonna bring me seven trucks to use for nine months?”
      It’s the bullshit of the banks seeing their loan as the product, and it tells you something about how benign they could possibly be that after seizing an asset they’ve maintained a security interest in they would then still actually sell that, and with the balls to still Collett a receivable it a receivable. There was a case in Missouri in I think the 30s where a bank attempted to foreclose and the borrower sued to stop them and won by arguing that credit contract wording articulates loan origination as predicated on providing valuable consideration, but since money’s value only arises from money that’s already circulating and money (debt) doesn’t exist prior to the (moment it’s conjured by a stroke of a pen if no similar law to the federal reserve’s charter gives banks the authority to create money then such a contract is invalid .
      I think Hadid kept his skin out of the game knowing he was going to court a shit ton of controversy though I guess maybe if he’s still married or something (I don’t keep up) an unneeded mortgage also definitely establishes a negotiating concession (paying it off) in the event there’s a division. Definitely not worried about building or maintaining credit to try and use if he leveraged it as an escape plan so readily

    • @StillJustD
      @StillJustD 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He didn’t lose it because of “lack of money”. The man is worth almost 200 million. But thanks to how the Rich are allowed to skirt rules with loopholes. He is only worth 5 million on paper. The house was supposedly going to take more than that to demolish properly. So technically he could claim not having enough money to destroy it, sell the property. Make the money on the back end and still stay rich. The same way Elon musk and Jeff bezos are the two richest men on the planet but “on paper” they have almost no taxable assets.

    • @Zarathustran
      @Zarathustran 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StillJustD Maybe it was sarcasm? $200M? WTF’s he doing building a hundred million dollar single personal dwelling? Explains why he didn’t want to pay for it I think- Way too expensive relative to his net asset value. I don’t keep up with him so I didn’t know but assumed he was a billionaire to throw it around that way. There’s nobody (yet) to whom the invested return on $100 million (or 80-85, whatever his build cost would have come to) isn’t a lot of income to forego…. Particularly well I guess his lender rolled the municipal property taxes into his note but even if he wasn’t getting his own tax bill to pay every January he’s a developer used to seeing what happens to that when it’s reassessed after the structure goes up offset by having been subdivided and/or producing income…. Yeah man dude didn’t wanna part with the cash.
      I’m not in LA County and there’s no $40 million lot (wild guess because no clue, but a blind man can see it’s an amazing lot) in my neighborhood but I do know at the rate I just paid my property taxes (with a primary residence “homestead” deduction for a non-retirement age person which is another significant one he can probably get but could not get the entire decade he owned it) if my tax liability were for a $40 million lot that would be $640000 to the city every 1/31, 960 if not my primary residence (though it doesn’t sound like he could have/keep a more expensive one elsewhere). Not nearly so easy to cover those kinds of bills taking his hundred million for the house out of the market. House looks like such a fantasy because brother building it was dreaming the whole time. So maybe not lack of money but certainly fear about cashflow, and I don’t think he sold it for a profit like you’re suggesting if it was in receivership. More like he forfeited any equity he had (which he may have refinanced and planned to juggle it until the day he died given how flaky he sounds but would be substantial after a decade servicing the debt like someone able and intending to actually pay for it). Just obvious he spends too much…and everybody thinks his girls have a rich daddy, but a “rich” daddy afraid to pay for his own house lol man give me a break this dude’s reckless he’s not protecting a portfolio full of something better🙄. Those girls’ll probably inherit his gambling debts or something. I’m being somewhat facetious but it’s smoke and mirrors. Anyway, being too much about a loophole seems more the mark of greed to me than the mark of wealth but yeah they do often go together- and definitely greed doesn’t like to pay its bills, just saying. He doesn’t seem trustworthy or reliable in the least. If ir stopped being his dream house because of ill will he created walking away from it after only ever doubling down on that makes it real obvious he never considered walking his impractical ego back a little… but I did love his robber baron Bellvue Ave/Devil’s Own fireplace
