This song represents for me the Beggining " of the glorious 80'! A kick in the stomac and know we presents you The Dream Syndicate, The Cure, Joy Division, Bauhaus, B-52's 4AD bands, DCD, etc, Siouxsie&The Banshees, Alan Vega, Nick Cave...so many and all with natural talent! I was 15/16 when I reallise those great bands, Lucky me!
Those old concert fliers and reviews are incredible: te Bangs turned into the Bangles, the Salvation Army turned into the Three O'Clock, and Dream Syndicate, Bangles, the Three O'Clock and Rain Parade (also on one of the fliers) put out a great album about 4 years ago where they each cover a song by each of the other three. Called 12x4 I believe. I've never quite been able to get into the Rain Parade but Dream is about my favorite band of the era and Three is a continuous curiosity. The Bangles were better than their pop success would indicate too. Amazing to see them all stay in contact 40 years...
