- Last few days before the arrival on the Azores.
Crossing the North Atlantic SOLO on my 1970 Hurley 18 (5,5m) sailboat called 1/4 Life Crisis .

Thank you very much just loved every moment. Incredible pictures especially the quality. I understand that this boat is fit for purpose. Just the right size for one person to handle in any conditions. Sail size seems perfect and your auto pilot wind vane set up absolutely amazing and so efficient and most of all reliable.
You sure are a MAN among Men. Awesome accomplishment.

WOW! This blows my mind. Where did you start? A two or three piece (screw together) oar can easily stow below. A single piece oar can be lashed on deck or against the mast. You can scull the boat with one oar. A thought. You have incredible will!

What happened to the outboard motor you had?
I sold it ... was in the way of the series drogue and also very heavy
@@sailing.oneworld surprised you haven't picked up an old seagull outboard at least you'd be able to motor into a mariner.

Great adventure, pal, but for goodness sakes, get yourself a nice hand pumped bilge pump. They're cheap, about 25 euro. They make the world of difference for when water needs removed fast.
