Science and Maths by Primrose Kitten Hi Primrose. I just did the B3 edexcel higher exam. One of the answers to a question was "saccharomyces cerevisiae" but I spelt "saccharomyces" incorrectly (I believe without one C and the A). Would I still get the mark???? :'(

Do you know what? I'm gonna take your advice cos I've heard so much about how some a level stuff can be even harder than like the first year of a degree. -two days at animal care. (ATL)
-two days at school retakes
-one day at a work placement

I have just done my As exams. Take it from me do some work before. It does not have to be a lot of work for example you could read the spec and search some topic from that spec or look on the exam broad and they sometimes will have books they recommend getting/reading or having a look at. If you can speak to your new teacher and find out from them anything they recommend. If your worried about not getting into the place you want for post sixteen wait until after results day. Any head start you can get now will be so helpful.

I was going to do A-Level Physics (because I'm definitely doing Maths and Further Maths A-Level), but I guessed most of my GCSE papers, so I'm now a bit unsure. I think I'm going to wait until after results day to decide properly though.

It's less relevant in this science channel, but with English lit and Lang I'm ready to go, and I'm also learning recorder for my music performance (which I didn't do at gcse, but its fine I don't need theory, even though I am learning to read sheet music D:). Don't underestimate the jump from GCSE to A-level, just finished AS and it is x1000 times more difficult, make sure you actually keep on top of the work and get revising early. Also review the subjects you have chosen and question if you have chosen the right ones. Good luck :)

Happy GCSEs are over. Going to start preparing for A-Levels in a few weeks. Deep cleaning my room to organise stuff and clear clothes out to make way for new stuff for college. Almost finished my CV so I can apply for a job.
Is it true that you don't get spoonfed at A-Level? We were told we weren't but a student who previously went to the college I want to attend (just finished their first year of uni) said they did, and that it was ridiculous. I hate spoonfeeding, especially when it's unneeded and when it slows down learning for people who want to get on. Still excited though.
