Hutts I think the partial refill favors your held gun with a 50% refill and all others with a 20% refill. I am 90% sure of this.

Jokes on you, I dont have to spend over 2 and a half hours trying to unlock the gunslinger because im so shit at gungeon that I cant beat the first floor consistantly. Who's really winning here?

It's okay man, was the same for me - you mostly just gotta play more, learn enemies' bullet patterns and stuff, learn your timings and just practise.
i had a similar issue so much so that i got excited whenever i made it to floor two haha, but idk if this will help you i switched to controller and made it to floor 4 the first time after that and forge the second time with controller so try switching over if you havnt already see if it helps

Yeah, you probably didn’t grab the bullet too. I literally just unlocked the Gunslinger a couple hours ago but it would’ve been sooner if I didn’t accident forget to grab the bullet from the blacksmith.

I was watching this video when I first beat the dragun so I think hutts gave me his luck
You get a gun at the boss if you dont pick up a new gun on that floor, so just open chests after boss, also one gun chest and one item chest per floor.
Oh the scrambler is my favorite gun. Combo that with the holster to fire shots when you reload, I beat my first Dragun with that combo.

Well there’s a challenge for you; use nothing but the Chamber Gun, maybe a walkie talkie too just Incase, and it would be dependent on you being able to beat a boss without getting hit.
have you ever tried blinding a spider or snake with a lazer pointer?, the snake looks so funny when you do and it is easier to run away from it but with the spider it just sits there and does nothing, but not if it is in a fight
aw man, i tried to unlock the gunslinger a while ago. i was doing a rainbow run and i got godlike drops as the paradox, including the clone so i got 2 runs worth of items, all of lich's phases went down in seconds and i only took about 2 - 3 hits the entire fight. but when the gunslinger came around it was the complete opposite, trash drops everywhere, synergies didnt help. the enemies kept breaking the water barrels to put out the fireplace so i couldnt get to the oubilette or the abbey. i couldnt afford the GK because i kept having to stack up on health and ammo. dragun got me down to one heart since i only had about 3 by the time i got to him. i didnt even get to fight the two liches and died in bullet hell after the first 2 rooms. as the floors went on i just slowly realised i wasnt going to make it due to the rng of the run, it was so disappointing, two hours down the drain.
This has happened to me about 3 or 4 times now, Good runs on paradox, crap runs with gunslinger
5 times for me but eventually I had the opposite of what you described and was able to barely win as gunslinger with like one full heart remaining and with no ammo in any of my guns

I failed at the gunslinger run twice all ready!! First run was absolutely sucky weapons, second time no keys and very little shells.

Just got the rainbow chest guy I would have Beet the game but I ran out of ammo in my gun but I know I can easily get back there and I’m happy that I can now see all the bullet types

In order to get the gunslinger...is it required to kill the Lich with the Paradox?
It’s not clear with many sources that I find, and those that are are hard to read or are inaccurate in other areas.
Yes, after beating the Lich with Paradox, you will insta respawn as the Gunslinger but you will not have unlocked it yet. To unlock, you need to beat the Lich in this only run with the Gunslinger to pema unlock hin

plunger is fuckin bad by itself but its god tier if you get duct tape, the full ammo refill on poison breaks the game

Paradox is two random guns and 1 random passive
bloodied scarf + super hot watch or how that pocket watch is called. last thing: get casey and something that increases your reload speed, charge speed and dodgeroll speed. I assure you: you'll be a NINJA!!! (12 cylinder, doublesided bullets or what it's called... the bullet that reloads one bullet by rolling... and smt for dodgeroll speed.)
if you want to do more, throw metronome into this.
another good challenge: metronome, casey, orbital bullets, (that weird... pink-purple-blue-red eyeball item. rebound shots), and last two or three ... but not least:
Scattershot, Flak bullets, snowball bullets, fat bullets, anything that makes your bullets bigger!
I know it's too late but if you want to unlock gunslinger, it's way easier to do it on a rainbow run.
Ha ha ha I unlocked him on my first ever paradox run including killing his past . Basically I got blank bullets and gold ammolet in the paradox and gold junk cog loot bag and Pac-Man cheese the second. Also beat the advanced dragun for the first time.

Plunger actually has infinite ammo.
You don't have to waste ammo shooting the boss item thingy. You can tell if it's a mimic just by if it has a face or not.
Technically the same goes for chest mimics. You just have to watch them.
