​@@MJ.ActualIt's not simply a best of one. It's a best of three made up of best of ones. He had a 1-2 record.
It is however an exciting ruthless format.
Not sure how much history of BW you know, but the 2 big tournaments pre-SC2 used it in the early stages as well. The 1b MSL used it in the ro16 as well. The 1a OSL used a slightly more forgiving round robin with tie break matches as necessary.
ASL's ro16 with winners, losers and final being independent bo3s is quite generous, but as the only big Tournament, and no team league with all the best players participating means it really should be.

Upsets are part of the excitement and that chance is something champions need to overcome. It's a ruthless format.
