some great videos on the xrt there 👌👌…i dont think there is ever a rush to market rc from traxxas. You can totally see the research and development that goes into there rc’s. maybe that why they are a little pricey, but trx are by far my favourite brand. i have the orange xrt on pre order here in the UK… cant wait :)

The only person on you tube that rolls this thing lol. I like the original tires. I think this thing is more for jumping far and fast. If backflips are your thing then drive the xmax.

Looking good but you might want to try to tune the shocks some to see if you can stop the traction rolls. It would be cool to see if the adjustment of the suspension can help fix that when running them wheels.

Run those tires on my baja 5b,and my 4wd blackout with a 4000kv hobbywing motor,on a 3s 5200 80c.it handles amazing, and turns very nice also!

Should put ec5 min or q8s on your 8s after some home test it drops battery and esc temp 10+ degrees after seeing first hand the snap andheat diffs I rather over kill a little on plugs to save inlong run even a small cat on any esc helps also heat is electronics worst enemy and batteries last way longer. Keep up great work keep them coming.

I have the Orange XRT 🤑, most parts from the X-Maxx will fit it too such has wheels/tires(24mm hex rear/17mm front), wheelie bar, and light kits. I just installed all three of those accessories on the XRT. I'm keeping it all stock mostly 🤔I even did the Traxxas 6700mah batts with the Traxxas dual charger. Also Powerhobby has a lot of wheels/tires for the X-Max/XRT such as the Powerhobby Raptor XL Belted Tires / Viper Wheels got them in orange too 😊 Going to Pimp it in Orange,Red and Silver....of course Skin the chassis too (Darkside Studio Arts or RC Skinz)😱
I,m actually building one from my spare Xmaxx and the knuckles and hubs are a different part number from the Xmaxx so they are different somehow. So they might have put a lil more steering in it.
Hi Joe, great video as always. I like how you seem to touch issues others miss or avoid and then you always have to run it hard, I think you are totally awesome and help alot of people with RC's. 1 question is I've heard not so great things about hoovoo like that run time😬 so my question is could better quality batteries help the backflip issue? I've seen others use traxxas 6700 4s batteries and that thing will flip off very little jumps. Just an opinion with a question attached. Your still my go to TH-cam guy for entertainment thanks

Hey buddy thanks. Yeah the higher MAH batteries have way more to offer than what I ram on this one. I have some 8000’s I need to run but they are on QS 8 plugs.
@@ExocagedRC I totally understand your hesitation, brand new rc if you cut the plugs then any kind of warranty automatically goes out the window, I really don't agree with traxxas on the particular issue, however,the truck/truggy? Seems awesome and I will definitely be watching for this and many of your other videos coming up soon. Really appreciate your time and effort, you have become part of my daily routine lol.
I think as it gets upgraded it might set a track record at some point.

It seems like Traxxas didn't change any of the suspension geometry when they moved the Xmaxx parts into the XRT. The geometry is still set up for a HCG chassis, so it may be the cause of the reactive front end and loose rear end.
I bought badlands for my XRT and installed them with the included blue spacers. First drive with some jumping, and a wheel fell off, and I lost the blue spacer (somehow found the red wheel nut, luckily). But I'm concerned about the lack of threads on the stub axle with these wheels. The wheel nuts just barely fit onto the axle, and end up pretty much, flush. Obviously this is what caused the failure. Do you have any recommendations on how to remedy this? I tried to find some longer stub axles, but no luck. I'm kindof new to the hobby honestly, even though I have had a few cars in the past, I never did much tinkering with them.
The steering authority on this thing looks so much superior to the xmaxx. Cant wait to get one and put a big motor in it

OKI don't understand how you ran factory hubs and didn't bust the wheels comma'am I bust my wheels on the factory hub because it's that starfish period I crank them down with a droid oil do you have aftermarket hobes please help

I think Pacific Coast Hobbies or one of the other channels put Sledge rims and tires on the XRT and maybe geared it up, and it got far better rotation for flips and verticals.
Edit: It was X Maxx tires.

I put the badlands on my xrt i think with the 8s too much for the pinions i smoothed out the stock and the extta pinion gear
Another great video...but, you still don't understand that the XRT is not an X-MAXX. It's designed to be fantastic on the ground (consider the tires it came with), and also extremely good in your typical off-road track...but, it is NOT for flips, or "send it" type situations. Nevertheless, knowing you, you will keep trying. 👍🏼👍🏼

LoL yes yes I know it’s not an Xmaxx, but it has Xmaxx in it so I want the backflips, just like with a Kraton 8s. It’s fun. This outhandles the Xmaxx by a lot.
@@ExocagedRC As much as I'd REALLY like to have one, I can say with 99% certainty, it's not in the cards for me.
On one hand, there's the financial situation. After my mom passed (4 days after my b-day), and knowing my step dad's medical problems, it was decided that I would move in with him (moving from the SF Bay area, to the Las Vegas area, which will be happening in less than 2 weeks). The move, itself, is going to cost a few thousand dollars. On top of that, work has been slower this year than it was last year (earned tens of thousands less), and the pay in the Vegas area is going to be less than California.
Then, on the other hand, there's the "available space" matter. Moving into a house that already has a household full of stuff, and adding my stuff, means less available space. Sure, there will be stuff (his & mine, as well as some stuff that belonged to my mom) that will be gotten rid of, opening up available space...but, I'm having a feeling that the 'incoming' stuff will exceed the 'outgoing' stuff.
I do have my (upgraded, incl Wide-MAXX Kit) X-MAXX, and the Sledge...but, if I'm to get an XRT, the only way that might actually happen is if someone "gifts" one to me.

1:35 I'm using the same tires. I'm also using the MaxAmps 9000XL 4s pair LiHV lipos, which are insanely powerful with a true 100c rating. Will do standing backflips with the taller gearing. They are a beast of a battery if you want to spend $500 a pair, lol. Are we going to see all vitavon parts on your XRT like your Xmaxx? What about 12s? I know you want to? lol

Maxamps lipos are by far and away the best quality rc batteries available in my opinion. Like how vitavon is with aluminum parts top notch second to none. 👍👍

Those tires are heavy they don't work well on 8s I ran those tires on my 12s xrt system and they were fine
Hi, always on the piece, if I may ask: now using larger diameter wheels you slightly extend the Ratio, right?
Another thing I noticed about the XRT, that it is easier for him to do the Front flips than the Back Flips, a question of balance?

instead of dumping 4k in vitavon lets see a new box stock xrt (1/8 race truggy $1000) vs a new box stock Tekno RC Eb48 2.1 or a Mugen Seiki MBX8TE or a xray xt8 . use the same battery only change is to use a flysky gt5 that way its all equal . its a proven fact the xrt can turn on a dime at slow speed BUT at speed its ugly and out of the box its just slow BUT out of the box all the other race truggys whip its butt yet traxxas wants us to pay $200 more than any other 1/8 out there . heres the real FACT take the 200 plus and put that in up grades to make them all the same price now that traxxas will look like a joke . thats the truth its a plastic turd thats super over priced and needs $500 in upgrades to keep up with box stock r/cs of its class of 1/8 truggy !
That’s exactly why I build from scratch stock power is just enough. Rollers should be the new option for all RC brands.

The stock xmaxx isn’t a backflipper either. Need a small amount of mods for it to actually want to backflip. Guessing the same is true for this seeing as it’s essentially the same truck

@@mattvesta5721i use my xrt the most actually. I love the xmaxx too, i like the loosy goosiness of the xmaxx but i find myself going for the xrt more. I use xmaxx tires sometimes and it flips much better. Its all good

Too much hype for an XMAXX WITH LOWER SHOCKS. XMaxx is the world best RC by far...
