Great review of this wonderful inexpensive fountain pen. Another brilliant thing is that if you damage Plaisir nib, all you need to do is buy a Preppy and interchange the grip section between the two. Also, you don't need to buy a convertor, all you need is a syringe with blunt needle and refill that cartridge.
I have a number of Platinum pens with the sealing cap. It works perfectly. Platinum claims up to a year. It helps the ink flow if you kind of move it between pointing down and sideways every now and then while writing so the BB doesn’t block the feed. It works. A metal Preppy...practically perfect. I have a fine and a medium in the matte black edition.
I don’t have a lot of experience with fountain pens but this is one of the first pens I’ve received. Sometimes I’ll have to tilt it a certain way to get it to write. However I recently filled the pen with ink through a new converter and it’s been writing great. I really like it
I have 6 platinums, (2 preppy, 2 prefounte, 2 plaisir) and I am extremely happy with them. Extremely reliable, my nibs vary from 0.2 to 0.3 to 0.5 and are fantastic. Use them for writing and drawing, too!
In Sweden, the ink color is the same as the pen color. Blue pen=blue ink; violet pen=violet ink and red pen=red ink etc. Thìs is for the Platinum Preppy.
I don't have a Procyon, but that would be a good comparison. The nibs look similar, but the Plaisir's is smaller, and the pen is quite light--enough that I sometimes forget it's metal at all.
Could anyone please help me? I recently bought a platinum plaisir hearing all the good words. I ordered a red ink, but they sent black and I didn't check before installing the cartridge. When I did realize it while writing, I uninstalled the cartridge, washed and dried the writing section and installed the cartridge with my red ink (waterman audacious red). I don't know why it just doesn't write the same anymore as it did with it's original ink. The ink is much darker but it's writing a very washed out shade of the ink, sometimes skipping lines. What can I do here?
So if the ink is darker, it could means that you didn’t clean out all the black ink. So the remaining black ink is mixed with the red ink so it makes it darker. For how to clean it properly, I highly recommend checking out Goulet Pen’s video on how to clean fountain pen. If ink is a bit washed out, it could be that after you clean the pen, it’s still wet (water is still at the feed) so it makes the ink watery and wash out. I usually leave it overnight minimum or a day or two after I clean the pen before inking it up. Hope this is helpful and not tooo late. :)
That would be a good comparison. I have both in a F nib, and the nibs are quite comparable. Materials are very different, with the Prera being plastic and the Plaisier being aluminum. However, the Plaisir is so light and the finish so smooth that it doesn't feel like a metal pen to me. Quality is good on both. Cartridges are proprietary on both, The shortness of the Prera is either a + or - depending on your own preferences. The Plaisir is a more standard length. You can't go wrong, I don't think, with either, but it would come down to this: aesthetics and price. Where I am the Plaisir can be as little as half the price of a Prera. I think the Prera is a slightly nicer pen, but I don't think I'd feel like I was settling to save the money and buy the Plaisir.
@@JG3Reviews love it. Thank you for your help sir. I ordered a Plaisir, and while waiting for it, I bought a Prefounte as well. Next month, I'll be ordering a Prera. 😁 That might be the last Fountain pen purchase for this year. 🤔 🤞

I have one in green, with a green nib. An excellent pen!
I was at a store that had the green one a few weeks ago, and that is a nice color.
Thanks
I like nibs measure in a length unit, it helps to know what you are buying, what about the converter? Where is it?
The converter is sold separately.
@@JG3Reviews I think he meant why didn't you show/ mention the converter in your review... I also wondered that..
Ah, I don't know either. This was one of the first several videos I ever did.
Is there a difference between the Plaisir and the Procyon? Maybe a comparison would be helpful. I have the Procyon.

@@bobodeng1784 lol thanks so much. I returned the pen after all the trouble and got a pilot metropolitan which works far better :)
Hi sir, hope you can help me in deciding between Platinum Plaisir and Pilot Prera? Or can you do a comparison? Thanks!
