  • This DIY headboard cost less than $125 to build, and looks WAY more expensive! Ryan and I put it together with a Kreg Jig, wood glue, and hidden screws over the course of about a week. Table saw not required, but certainly helpful! We finished the edges of the plywood with some veneer ordered on Amazon, and stained it with a Behr stain + poly from Home Depot.
    The end result is a gorgeous, mid-century modern style headboard, and my wife absolutely loves it! So glad to this project crossed off my list. . . stick around for more woodworking projects coming up!

    That looks great! Would you also share the specs of the screws/bolts/nuts/etc. that you use in your builds? Thanks for the videos!

      We'll try to have more detailed lists in the descriptions going forward!

    Paint a thin layer of the alphabetic resin(yellow glue, carpenters wood glue) and let dry before you attach the vernier with the iron. It will help or act as a primer for the heat activated glue in the vernier.Set your blade height so you don't have all the splinters on the back side of the cut
    The carbide teeth should just clear the bottom venier

      @BroBuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      No, sorry. But I dug up the dimensions for you, and anyone else who wants them:
      Large front piece: 3'2" x 5'6"
      2 front leg pieces: 6" x 20"
      Top support: 10" x 5'6"
      Side supports: 6" x 4'

    What kind of plywood did you guys use?

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it was sanded birch plywood

  • @robertmorrison3140
    @robertmorrison3140 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you like the wood, can you just sand it down and use it like that? no stain ?

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You absolutely could!

    $125, plus circular saw, sander, jig, clamps, drill for holes. Plus a friend to help you. Oh and a truck to transport the original uncut wood from the store. :P

    It is better to attach the board directly to the wall. This way, when some romance happens, no one is hearing the action.

      We used edge banding also. . . you wouldn't need to, though.
