alot of the maps today have been reworked to be balanced for both sides even Komarin and Pearl River was given a chance to be brought back, what I don’t understand is why they never bothered reworking the maps like dragon ridge, port, south coast, severogorsk, swamp, windstorm, north west and hidden village.

This tank is why I made my "why I don't play world of tanks" video back then. game has come a long way. If you were a US medium tree grinder back then, you were clinically depressed.
Ex-World of Tanks player here. I had the (pleasure? displeasure? lol) of being around from this thing's introduction to its removal. The memes were real. Glass cannon doesn't do it justice. I remember seeing Maus' getting chewed apart in seconds from this thing. On the other hand, I would see FVs lol these guys with HESH ahaha. While I hated facing off against the WT E-100s on longer ranged maps, I loved facing them on smaller maps. Always could pop an HE round for extra damage whenever they tried hiding that house of a turret. Good times xD
I have lost track of how many maps are gone. I am a player since 2012. I remember having maps with snow on them and they coming up with a different name than the original non snow map. I would be nice to go down memory lane to see some of the old maps. Thanks
that 6 mag autoloader with 2 sec intraclip reload with a powerful gun blast sound brings added intensity. Managed to buy this tank and absolutely loved this
I miss my wt e100. The events wargs,I got runs with the sci-fi version are no substitute. They should have just done what they did with the badger and give the wt e100 as a premium to anyone who had it unlocked when it was in the game
I could go to console and grind up the German to line again but I don’t have that kind of time and don’t find the console version fun enough to play that much. I stopped playing the pc version because of wargaming’s constant bs and them constantly making the game worse in my opinion. The death star also was removed because it did not fit the tech tree and the Foch 155 was also removed but they gave us both of those as premiums. I would have been content for them to nerf it and make it a premium like those examples but they didn’t. Plus I always have played on the us servers as I live in the USA but there are so few players I often cannot find games for anything under tier 6 which is a problem if you are a collector and you enjoy playing all of your premiums of all different levels. The game for pc is slowly dying and has been for some time at least in the USA. No new players joining means no new low tier and that means the games population is shrinking.

For a while, my highest damage game was a 8.8k damage 6 kill game in the WTF100, didnt get spotted on the old Erlenberg map, with the only 3 ways to ford the river were over the bridges. Hung back at the max range w/ the old square, derped those who dared try to play the game one by one. Glad it was removed

I miss the gun fire sounds from back in the day. sounds better than the current sounds. especially when the round hits the tank but doesnt pen. I also miss the un-nerfed artillery. T-92 one shotting tanks was fun.
This tank was actually the first tier 10 tank that I managed to kill, back when I started playing. Funny thing is, I did it with a tier 5 french arty, because my friend in a platoon went to battle with an M103 by a mistake. 3 shots to the back of the turret did the job. Oh yea, I also pixelsniped an AMX 50-100 that was behind cover. Yeah, good old days
Ahh this was my 1st tier 10. Good memories, I was able to one clip a Maus in a clan offensive. Still my best memory is when a m103 and e75 tried pushing mid on cliff and once they got over the ridge in a couple of seconds one was dead and the other 1100is hp less.
For an OP vehicle it didn't really win all that often. IT was definitely toxic, but considering the introduction of wheeled vehicles, auto-reloaders, and the influx of even more auto-loading tanks, it wouldn't really stand out anymore, especially not after they nerfed it the second time. Keep in mind in the current game camouflage was reduced heavily for TD's prior to equipment 2.0 along with culling of bushes on many maps (including the recent changes to the Berlin map). The only exception being premiums that were released prior to the update. Camouflage is further devalued on TDs due to the increase in spotting capability across the board, and the WT auf E-100's camo would likely be even worse than the Grille 15, which despite being fairly small somehow worse camo than the... Strv 103B (61.20%) Object 268 (50.47%) Object 268 V5 (48.42%) [One of the only fully turreted tier X tank destroyers by the way with heavy tank armor, yet it has *much better* camo? In my opinion, this map was WAY better than at least 33% of the current maps in the game... Look how many lanes you could actually use to progress to the enemy base... So many different lines of fire could've been created, with both offensive and defensive positions to be used. To be honest, this was probably even better than Overlord, which btw is not a bad map either, in my opinion.
Hi there, on the console we still have it, have a game replay in my position that I one shot it together with an object 705 A, from full health to going in to the next game. 2 shot's 2 tanks
On it's own, I can understand why WG decided this tank was bad for the game. But I have no understanding for the way they decided to outright remove it while tanks like the FV 215b(183) and FV 4005 were allowed to remain in the game. All three of the tanks are capable of removing an entire tier X from the battle within moments of firing the first shot, they simply accomplished it differently.
well, you have to consider that average player back than was kinda bad for todays standards. Just like nowadays, give a Chieftain to a shitter and it doesnt even look that op anymore
I had one within a couple weeks of it launching. I played it until I managed to clip an entire Maus then I hung it up. Never really play the Grille. I do however love the Borsig and the auf Pz IV. I loved that old map, when you won as a South spawn it made it even sweeter.
The memories of getting shot and not knowing where you got shot from and by who shot you. All you saw was tank taking hits and loosing health and you had to figure out from the damage what gun shot you and what tank would have a gun like that. I do miss the time when armor did work and you could use armor because gold ammo was rare.
I'm surprised at how much I miss some of the old maps. I'm sure they were horribly imbalanced and I didn't like them that much at the time but nostalgia is a funny, powerful thing.
South Coast was one of my favorite maps, regardless of which end you spawned on. Of course, I'm such a bad payer that it makes no difference. Nice map though...
platoon at different tiers, yas, I loved being a fast tiny tank from tier 2 zooming around tier 10s, never able to damage them but they almost always didnt shoot me coz it was so pathetic xD fun times
This tank consistently had one of the worst win rates of any tier 10. . It was my lowest tier 10 win rate also. . . What actually happened in the vast majority of games is you would get spotted, take an arty shell for over 1000 damage killing most of your crew and modules and then use your consumables to repair them and take another arty shell or get shot by an enemy tank again killing most of your crew and modules. . . I played almost 600 games in mine and unless you opponents were complete muppets you wouldn't do that well. It's pen was actually pretty poor also so the chance of you penning a Maus and clipping it was incredibly slim.
They should just add another checkbox to the settings - like one for Grand Battles or Attack / Defend modes - if checked you agree to play all old "Unbalanced maps".. :P And of course I also have couple SPG games from early 2015 - only wish I could play them :/
This was my favorite time to play my t-92 these things loved eating HE/AP rounds. Only time I remember being praised as an arty player... whenever I would one shot these bad bois.
I really hate this tank when it's in the enemy team. Sure you can hit it once, and hard. But it will clap you back within 2 seconds of it's 6 or 5 round magazine. Yeah, you can't respond to it after you fired your first shot. But I really miss the days when I am playing in my AMX ELC Bis against tier 10s back when tier 5s can occassionaly get matched up against tier 10s. And when the 90mm gun on that little frenchie is so OP back in the day, now I can't play it like I used to.
I really miss all the old maps that got removed. These days you see the same maps time after time. I would rather they kept the old maps in. I would prefer to play an unbalanced map, than have it removed entirely. Also remember that when WoT 1.0 was released, they dumped a few maps, just because they weren't converted to the better graphics.
I’m so glad this is the first tank I grinded in WoT. I was on console at the time so I unfortunately only have that tank on console but I still remember it with its 6 shot clip 😭 then they nerfed it with 5 shells then 4 😭😭😭. Good times man good times
Oh, I remember... :-( I was grinding my way up to the WT auf E100 and was on WT auf Panzer IV when they took him away... I was sooo sad! Was my Dream-Tank. No Blueprints back then to accelerate, just grinding. Way too easy now. People don't learn to play their tanks anymore.
I fel like even now there is no tank that comes even close to how toxic that thing was. Even shit like the borat are not that bad. This thing is basically "Is it loaded? Then it will delete at least one tank rushing it. Is it currently reloading? Then it is a free farm if it is alone".
@@zumpicekdavid1 Foch B has ~1000 Damage less in its magazine and its dispersion is quite a bit worser. 279 is a rare tank, WT was a tech tree tank. 279 is easier to pen frontally than a 60 TP. 60 TP can only be penned into the lower plate and the drivers hatch. (non gold) 279 can be penned into like 60% of the upper hull all by Jgpz. E 100. EBR is fast, true and also has some bullshit wheels. It still isn't the one ripping apart two tanks per magazin.
@@TheNeonwing you forget about FV4005 and FV215b (183) - Oneshotting even many tier X tanks, which additionally is only possible with gold rounds. QB made a video a while ago and showed how incredibly toxic those tanks are. No matter how bad you make the rest of the tank, a tank with that huge alpha and penetration stays just flatout broken.
funfact, the game currently is way more broken, unbalanced and pay to win than it was with that tank in the game, people think the WTF E-100 was bad, but the whole game in general is a far-far worse than it was 7 years ago
I only dream one day WG will bring apocalypsis to the hull down meta, nerfing all the hill campers and buffing the speedy vehicles to switch to a mobility and flanking meta
@@mastrorick it needs to be balanced, if that happens then the game doesn't progress, no one wants 3 minute battles, we need the hulldown tanks to have proper weakspots so they can't just camp hull down, also, most maps have convenient rubbles for russian heavies to hide their hull the game needs to be balanced around regular ammo, not gold, some tanks bounce a shitton, but when gold is loaded they just become butter, which is a shit policy

Man, looking back at those old maps brings back memories. By the way, I'd absolutely love to see a "Before it was Nerfed" Video on Artillery in general, when they could just DESTROY nearly any tank with a single click.
I know the tank was incredibly toxic and over powered, but man it was so much fun to play. I’d love to see a version of it return to the game that fits the current status of the game better than it did back then.
Keep it's base. Replace tracks with indestructible wheels? Top speed of 90km/h. o/ From what I remember the WTF E 100 was something annoying. But satisfying to spam with HE when found.
@@magscorch7706 the game mode was fun, but it’s nowhere near the same as playing like you see in the video here. I remember matches where this thing tore apart an entire team. I had a couple of matches like that in it, too.

It would just take an arty shell every 15-20 seconds and have a permanent dead gunner and loader. . It actually had aweful pen so it used to struggle to pen any heavies frontal.
@@paleasaghost-5799 I mean those autoloaders either got nerfed hard like the Foch B and Foch 155, have shite accuracy, shite pen, turretless,bad dpm, or doesn't have a clip that can kill even the most healthiest tank in the game but I mean I think wargaming could work around that giving the wt ausf pz e100 extremely limited turret traverse and really bad accuracy like how they nerfed Foch 155 which got it some cool nicknames with stuff like the 750 DPM autoloader but if you don't it like that way we could make it a clan wars vehicle so yeah those two options would be nice enough to reinstate it back into the game so that there wouldn't be problems where people load full gold and run it on ranked.
I thought they were fun to play against, loved spotting them, and watching everyone who could, shoot at them, until they died, back when the t10 arty’s could one shot people if lucky, and most times do horrendous amounts of damage. Also the ISU-152 were nasty too, they used to have the 704’s gun as the top for them.
What pissed me off about them taking that gun away, is the fact they turned around only 1.5 years later to try and sell it back to me. Rather than giving one to everyone who had one in their garage when they took it out of the game, to then sell it back, is the height of greed and "pay-to-win" they are pushing on this allegedly 'free-to-play' game.
Same deal, these tanks were actually pretty darn easy to counter due the fact they REALLY didn't like HE. Guaranteed you would kill at least one crew member or damage one part if you shot at the thing with the IS-7's HE rounds.
The fact that the WTF e100 was so good at 1v1s. The god awfull turret didn't matter when you clip a full hp tier 10 heavy, in the time it takes them to reload. The trades were just so good.
First 30 seconds of the video is so nostalgic, these were simpler times haha. Looking at the leaderboards and I can actually recognize all of the tanks for once and remember all of their statistics which helped to outplay them.
Honestly I never minded fighting these things even if I never bought one. Sure they could deal a lot of damage but more often than not people would load HE and kill them before they could even unload. I much preferred having that massive turret sit in the open for 10s to unload to the FV 215b 183 one shotting you and running. The WT probably wouldn't even be that good in the current meta of WoT.
It did have way to much impact on gameplay, it could simply block whole areas of maps on it's own. Plus no tank should be able to take out a maus in one go. The 183 is a toy compared to this. The waffel basicly was double shot 183, taking all your hitpoints and then taking your friends hitpoints as well. It would still be toxic to the game, it would just have a lot more competition for the toxicity crown these days.
I remember creating my account and going to TH-cam to find tips and tricks back in 2013 and finding you and jingles as the world of tanks TH-camrs I watched constantly. And now it's years later still watching both of you and still playing the game learning new things everday
In the early days, WG's general philosophy about premium tanks was that they had to be slightly worse versions of their non-premium counterparts (or about as powerful as them) and their sole purpose was to make more credits because they had a higher multiplier.
@@zorkan111 don’t forget about the premiums with the better Matchmaker. Like the super Pershing only being able to up tier once. Honestly would have rather seen that then what we got now. Tier 7.5 tanks that start at 8 and only can go up to 9

Oh boi, that map felt so good with how open it seemed, with not that many corridors. A bunch of meds and heavies fighting in the middle and the rest of the team camping on both sides. It was a light tank's job to spot the enemy's campers and wreak havoc in their defenses. Good ol' days...
I’ve always maintained that this tank wasn’t OP enough to justify its removal. The turret and mobility reminds me of the 4005. All gun, nothing else. I think an intra-clip nerf would’ve been appropriate but this tank is legendary.

I think it's just nostalgia because a LOT of people complained about those maps. I wish they brought them back in some way

I don't know, I was never really afraid of them when I saw them. You just had to make sure you didn't shoot the hull or sit there in front of it.

All three of the tanks are capable of removing an entire tier X from the battle within moments of firing the first shot, they simply accomplished it differently.

well, you have to consider that average player back than was kinda bad for todays standards. Just like nowadays, give a Chieftain to a shitter and it doesnt even look that op anymore

I had one within a couple weeks of it launching. I played it until I managed to clip an entire Maus then I hung it up. Never really play the Grille. I do however love the Borsig and the auf Pz IV. I loved that old map, when you won as a South spawn it made it even sweeter.

I miss the old maps. They were just more fun to play, because the have been NOT been mirror-3-lane-maps.
The memories of getting shot and not knowing where you got shot from and by who shot you. All you saw was tank taking hits and loosing health and you had to figure out from the damage what gun shot you and what tank would have a gun like that. I do miss the time when armor did work and you could use armor because gold ammo was rare.
I'm surprised at how much I miss some of the old maps. I'm sure they were horribly imbalanced and I didn't like them that much at the time but nostalgia is a funny, powerful thing.
I finally ground up to it about a month before they took it away.

South Coast was one of my favorite maps, regardless of which end you spawned on. Of course, I'm such a bad payer that it makes no difference. Nice map though...

platoon at different tiers, yas, I loved being a fast tiny tank from tier 2 zooming around tier 10s, never able to damage them but they almost always didnt shoot me coz it was so pathetic xD fun times

This tank consistently had one of the worst win rates of any tier 10. . It was my lowest tier 10 win rate also. . . What actually happened in the vast majority of games is you would get spotted, take an arty shell for over 1000 damage killing most of your crew and modules and then use your consumables to repair them and take another arty shell or get shot by an enemy tank again killing most of your crew and modules. . . I played almost 600 games in mine and unless you opponents were complete muppets you wouldn't do that well. It's pen was actually pretty poor also so the chance of you penning a Maus and clipping it was incredibly slim.

They should just add another checkbox to the settings - like one for Grand Battles or Attack / Defend modes - if checked you agree to play all old "Unbalanced maps".. :P And of course I also have couple SPG games from early 2015 - only wish I could play them :/

This was my favorite time to play my t-92 these things loved eating HE/AP rounds. Only time I remember being praised as an arty player... whenever I would one shot these bad bois.
I really hate this tank when it's in the enemy team. Sure you can hit it once, and hard. But it will clap you back within 2 seconds of it's 6 or 5 round magazine. Yeah, you can't respond to it after you fired your first shot.
But I really miss the days when I am playing in my AMX ELC Bis against tier 10s back when tier 5s can occassionaly get matched up against tier 10s. And when the 90mm gun on that little frenchie is so OP back in the day, now I can't play it like I used to.

I really miss all the old maps that got removed. These days you see the same maps time after time. I would rather they kept the old maps in. I would prefer to play an unbalanced map, than have it removed entirely. Also remember that when WoT 1.0 was released, they dumped a few maps, just because they weren't converted to the better graphics.
In 2013, my dad and I got our first tier 8's (IS-3 Tiger II) second battle we got clipped out by a WTF E100. What a stupid tank 😂

Oh, I remember... :-( I was grinding my way up to the WT auf E100 and was on WT auf Panzer IV when they took him away... I was sooo sad! Was my Dream-Tank. No Blueprints back then to accelerate, just grinding. Way too easy now. People don't learn to play their tanks anymore.

I fel like even now there is no tank that comes even close to how toxic that thing was. Even shit like the borat are not that bad. This thing is basically "Is it loaded? Then it will delete at least one tank rushing it. Is it currently reloading? Then it is a free farm if it is alone".

@@zumpicekdavid1 Foch B has ~1000 Damage less in its magazine and its dispersion is quite a bit worser. 279 is a rare tank, WT was a tech tree tank. 279 is easier to pen frontally than a 60 TP. 60 TP can only be penned into the lower plate and the drivers hatch. (non gold) 279 can be penned into like 60% of the upper hull all by Jgpz. E 100. EBR is fast, true and also has some bullshit wheels. It still isn't the one ripping apart two tanks per magazin.
@@TheNeonwing you forget about FV4005 and FV215b (183) - Oneshotting even many tier X tanks, which additionally is only possible with gold rounds. QB made a video a while ago and showed how incredibly toxic those tanks are. No matter how bad you make the rest of the tank, a tank with that huge alpha and penetration stays just flatout broken.
Fun fact: The nerfed WTF E100 would fit into the current t10 meta just fine and would be a great counter for all the reward tank madness.
funfact, the game currently is way more broken, unbalanced and pay to win than it was with that tank in the game, people think the WTF E-100 was bad, but the whole game in general is a far-far worse than it was 7 years ago
I only dream one day WG will bring apocalypsis to the hull down meta, nerfing all the hill campers and buffing the speedy vehicles to switch to a mobility and flanking meta
@@mastrorick it needs to be balanced, if that happens then the game doesn't progress, no one wants 3 minute battles, we need the hulldown tanks to have proper weakspots so they can't just camp hull down, also, most maps have convenient rubbles for russian heavies to hide their hull
the game needs to be balanced around regular ammo, not gold, some tanks bounce a shitton, but when gold is loaded they just become butter, which is a shit policy

Try the Badger. It has 356mm of SLOPED armor that gets punched right through easier than Obj 277 side armor. It's fricking BS at how that tank gets fricked so hard.

I know the tank was incredibly toxic and over powered, but man it was so much fun to play. I’d love to see a version of it return to the game that fits the current status of the game better than it did back then.
With power creep it almost isn't OP anymore. Limit the turret traverse and drop it to 4 shots. Reduce the alpha a small bit, done.

In the current meta this tank would't even be that overpowered as it used to be.
It would just take an arty shell every 15-20 seconds and have a permanent dead gunner and loader. . It actually had aweful pen so it used to struggle to pen any heavies frontal.

@@paleasaghost-5799 I mean those autoloaders either got nerfed hard like the Foch B and Foch 155, have shite accuracy, shite pen, turretless,bad dpm, or doesn't have a clip that can kill even the most healthiest tank in the game but I mean I think wargaming could work around that giving the wt ausf pz e100 extremely limited turret traverse and really bad accuracy like how they nerfed Foch 155 which got it some cool nicknames with stuff like the 750 DPM autoloader but if you don't it like that way we could make it a clan wars vehicle so yeah those two options would be nice enough to reinstate it back into the game so that there wouldn't be problems where people load full gold and run it on ranked.
I thought they were fun to play against, loved spotting them, and watching everyone who could, shoot at them, until they died, back when the t10 arty’s could one shot people if lucky, and most times do horrendous amounts of damage. Also the ISU-152 were nasty too, they used to have the 704’s gun as the top for them.
What pissed me off about them taking that gun away, is the fact they turned around only 1.5 years later to try and sell it back to me. Rather than giving one to everyone who had one in their garage when they took it out of the game, to then sell it back, is the height of greed and "pay-to-win" they are pushing on this allegedly 'free-to-play' game.
Ah, the infamous BL-10. Used to be one of the most feared guns in the game.

Same deal, these tanks were actually pretty darn easy to counter due the fact they REALLY didn't like HE. Guaranteed you would kill at least one crew member or damage one part if you shot at the thing with the IS-7's HE rounds.
The fact that the WTF e100 was so good at 1v1s. The god awfull turret didn't matter when you clip a full hp tier 10 heavy, in the time it takes them to reload. The trades were just so good.
First 30 seconds of the video is so nostalgic, these were simpler times haha. Looking at the leaderboards and I can actually recognize all of the tanks for once and remember all of their statistics which helped to outplay them.

Honestly I never minded fighting these things even if I never bought one. Sure they could deal a lot of damage but more often than not people would load HE and kill them before they could even unload. I much preferred having that massive turret sit in the open for 10s to unload to the FV 215b 183 one shotting you and running. The WT probably wouldn't even be that good in the current meta of WoT.
It did have way to much impact on gameplay, it could simply block whole areas of maps on it's own. Plus no tank should be able to take out a maus in one go.
The 183 is a toy compared to this. The waffel basicly was double shot 183, taking all your hitpoints and then taking your friends hitpoints as well.
It would still be toxic to the game, it would just have a lot more competition for the toxicity crown these days.

Whats surprising is that in the second game there was only ONE tier 8 premium tank...truly a better time.
In the early days, WG's general philosophy about premium tanks was that they had to be slightly worse versions of their non-premium counterparts (or about as powerful as them) and their sole purpose was to make more credits because they had a higher multiplier.

Oh boi, that map felt so good with how open it seemed, with not that many corridors. A bunch of meds and heavies fighting in the middle and the rest of the team camping on both sides. It was a light tank's job to spot the enemy's campers and wreak havoc in their defenses. Good ol' days...

I’ve always maintained that this tank wasn’t OP enough to justify its removal. The turret and mobility reminds me of the 4005. All gun, nothing else. I think an intra-clip nerf would’ve been appropriate but this tank is legendary.
